That's exactly what it does. The only way it would break from twisting would be if the splines stripped. It has to be there for a reason but I just don't know what reason. it is a hole on one side of the knuckle joint that holds it fiexe and the other side floats on the splines.

I was pounding on some huge rocks. It may be there for when you put too much force on the front axle, rather than shove the shaft into your transaxle it breaks the pin?

282 hours and it's the 1st time it broke. Just good luck finding the right size pin. It must be metric.

You will love the slip clutch, I have one on each of my bush hogs. Just don't set the clutch too light, it will burn up if you are not watching. Setting too tight is also bad. Mine are at the same setting they came with and do slip now and then. My time is too short as with many people and I can't imagine putting in a new bolt as many times as it sounds like you do. I used a post hole digger with a shear pin once. I bought a hydraulic one and sold it. 1 pin per posthole is enough to drive you nuts. Hydraulic also has reverse.

I don't do it that often to help much but it can be done the first time in less then ten minutes and after that it seems to be around five minutes with knowledge of the pieces and the proper placement of the pieces. The chassis frame work makes it so much stronger to work with.

Besides the idea of not leaking hydraulic fluid at disconnect, the flush face don't need caps for male or female, just a clean rag to wipe em. Having male and female on the tractor is no benefit other that allowing the implement to connect to itself and to assure that each time you connect, you use the same hydraulic path. The way tractors are now, you have to have color coding or you may hook it backwards and then the lever movement you are used to will be backwards. I hook up backwards on my old tractor sometimes, can't remember which is which and no color coding. I don't recall any modern skid loader with only one kind on it. They seem to always use one of each. Why should a tractor be different. I don't like it much when my thing are hooked backwards, or the idea of switching them and having fluid run out again.
As far as my new tractor, the 3rd valve and power beyond are still in the box, waiting to be put on. I will see if I can use one of each for the 3rd and still use the bulkhead mounts.

Hate to see people cover good top soil, it takes so long for nature to produce and once covered, it's gone. I just stripped an old garden spot for a foundation and driveway. We hauled off 200 yards of beautiful black loam. It's stockpiled for screening and selling this spring. The gravel 6"- that came out of the frost wall hole was used for a base for the driveway. Do you think the loam that is covered is deep,worth saving? How deep is the clay on top? Can it be removed to get to the loam? If so, strip the clay, remove and pile the top soil, buy gravel to grade the lot to a level minus the thickness of top soil you want to spread or have. When they haul the gravel in have them haul the clay out, save money hauling two ways.Just a thought, I don't know if you built in the woods and the soil isn't much and full of stumps or in one of those incredible Iowa fields.

Hi, The tractor is sold. The #7 backhoe works great. I have dug up stumps and rocks. It just takes a little longer than a full size backhoe. you would be surprized at how well it digs. Most of the power is in the curl of the bucket. I suppose if you wanted to dig a swimming pool you could, it wold take alot longer but can be done.

Matt, I have 790 also since 4/2000. Had same problem. I replaced battery cables with heavy duty ones from car parts store. Cleaned and painted rusted areas and use commercial battery terminal cleaner/protectorant. No problems since, they also are not corroding since new cables installed (2 years?) could be a problem w/ with OEM JD cables?

Do you have a real shallow pitch on the roof? What kind of leak situation do you have? I have a problem with mine but the dripping and leak that comes down the vent stack is from condensation. The cure for that would be to insulate around the vent in the attic. I only get moisture in real cold weather, so it is not snow. Could you be having the same problem?

My wife gets a kick out of it. But she knows how I am about machines, tractors, etc. I even cut a deal with her uncle to buy his 1948 D4 CAT dozer shortly after I met her. Now if I can only get him to actually part with it... I don't need in any project sense, but I do need it!!

When I bent the top link on my JD 850 I got a replacement at Tractor Supply Co. for around $20.
Not sure if they carry the size you need for a BX.

55 watts divide by 12 volt equals 4.5 amps for each light. So if you have 2 lights multiply by 2 and that would equal 9 amps. And if I recall I was told the stock dynamo put out something like maybe 12 amps on the BX model. And this should be fine on a BX model because you run the engine at full throttle

or 55/12=4.5 amps
35/12=2.9 amps

And yes the lights in frount of your BX are useless when your FEL is on.

If you look at a RTV with the dump you will see that the pump has it's own housing and is attached to the top of the transmission. Is it impossible to duplicate no, but time wise as well as for errors, not counting some type of damage to the transmission from poor fit would say the base hydraulic dump is a bargin then modify to your hearts content if you need more outlets.

This weekend my wife drove her tractor into a hole while mowing with her King Kutter rotary mower. By doing so the mower's shear bolt did its thing and sheared. <br>
<br>
My question is this, are bolts of this type a special type of bolt or will any standard bolt work as a replacement? The bolt head has 307A & CYI on it, I assume this means something.
