I've heard from at least one other guy in a direct email that the selector valve is more expensive than a second joystick and takes more hoses. I guess the more hoses makes sense.

So I guess it is going to be a second 4 way joystick controller, and figuring out the plumbing to add that and the rear auxiliary hydraulic kit. I guess I should be able to run from the power beyond port on the loader controller to the inlet of the new TNT controller, and then from it's power beyond port to the rear auxiliary connections. Then both the new TNT controller's return line and the new rear auxiliary return line have to Tee into the return line from the loader controller. Does that sound about right?

Now I just have to figure out where all of those are and what hoses will be required to set it up.

Is this discussion about a Kubota L4310 or a JD 4310? It seems that 2ndHandLion is addressing this post as a JD4310 tractor and Art, Dedeye are viewing this as a Kubota tractor. Since this is in the Kubota discussion I would expect it to be a Kubota tractor. However the post says HST and the Kubota L4310 is not an HST tractor, correct?

So far this Kubota BX23 is a great tractor combo. I've dug up bushes and small trees with the backhoe and loaded them into the bucket. I've even pulled up concrete sidewalk pads (3' x 3+') with the backhoe and then loaded them into the bucket. The diff lock and 4wd works great and helped me out of a couple spots where I would have been stuck w/2wd. The tractor starts readily and runs great. I've got 20 hours on it and no problems yet. I compared the BX23 to John Deere, Simplicity, Kioti and other tractors. In terms of value, capability and performance, this Kubota BX23 easily beat the competition. <br>

BX23 with 60" mowing deck. Ordered a snow blower and a plow with the whole package. The plow and snow blower have not yet arrived. <br>
28 hours at about 4 weeks <br>
This tractor turns on a dime with power steering that feels smooth and climbs my 20 to 25 degree slopes very well. The mowing deck has cut all that I have put before it that includes the foot high grass in the back 10. <br>
I got the BX23 because it is a small tractor and for me I don't need anything much larger. The size is a positive advantage in getting around all the trees and narrow paths. Plus along with the folding roll bar it fits into my garage. <br>
So far everything has proformed to my tasks. <br>
But I feel that the brake should hold better. You can still go with the brake on and it's easy to forget that it is on! I have done this on a number of occasions. <br>
Still after 28 hours I give it a very high rating.<br>

Alex, I'd say you are light on the tractor weight as well as horsepower for what you want to do. We normally set an outfit like what you are asking for with a one hundred horse tractor chassis to counter balance for the mower weight being off to the side that much. The amount of boom distance on the three point would be a major part of it and the slasher out front I haven't seen done yet, here in the states or while in your beautiful country this past spring I didn't get to see any outfits as your described to look at for my brain to feast on! I do know that the grasses you have there are not as heavy as here in our area but leverage is the biggest problem I see.

Harvey with the three point hitch it is a far more useful tractor or I should say more adaptable. Many of the three point hitch attachments get bent up from the two point hitch when adapted over. The two point gives down pressure which is the problem with the three point hitch attachments. I always hate to see a loader go to the hedge row but you don't need it and the earlier tractors often were not made for loaders. Hardwood, I was young then but the only H's with a TA were made that way in someones shop. We get to see a lot of rolling one rearend up to another front end and engine and bolt on the sheet metal.

My DK also has the splines on the end of the crank for a front PTO.
I never really planned on using it, but its good to know I should use a nylon sleeve if I ever do..

One of the stabilizers on my BT900 backkhoe sinks slowly while in the "up" position. It holds OK in the "down" (working) position. I currently use a couple of heavy bungies to keep it up. My local Kubota folks haven't seen this problem before, but suspect the "shuttle valve assembly" within that stabilizer valve might be bad. Any thoughts?<br>

I have a 455 also. The smoking on intial start-up sounds pretty normal. Of course, it's always worse in the winter. The interior of my exhaust pipe is coated with soot... I haven't tried the hand in front of the exhast trick yet but sounds like all is well to me. BTW... The 455 is one mowing machine. You'll like it.

These tractors were made around 1980-1986. I have an International 254 with a front end loader and backhoe attachment, plus I bought a 6' finish mower(cut my mow time in half!). It came with a complete manual and parts book. Great little tractor and parts are still available for them. 21 HP, available with or w/out powersteering and both manual and hydro trans.

Interesting that the 4310 gains only a few inches of width (track) with wheels at their widest setting. The R4 wheels must have different offset from the R1s that I have. My JD955 benefits by maybe 10-12" rear and 6-8" front. On hillsides around here, the widest track is always recommended.

The only reason I can figure Kubota does not recommend widening the front is because of the mounting face of the front wheel. The wider track does cause more stress on the wheel and steering mechanism, but there are no U-joints in any of the 4WD CUTs I have or have seen. And most have power steering.

We unfortunately got caught in the last cold snap without good fuel in several units that were ready(so we thought) for delivery. Idles was about all they would run at until we got the 911 Power Service bottles out. About ten minutes is all it took and they were fine.

Cabs have been made before for tractors. Often they will need you to alter the tractors with extra holes and will leave imprints on the fenders and hoods and cause a loss of resale value when time to get rid of it.

Clean all of that corrosion up ASAP and soak all of the terminals and cable ends in a heavy solution of hot water and baking soda to neutralize any corrosion left. Reassemble and spray the battery connectors with a good coat of corrosion prevention compound. (usually some red gooey stuff for protecting battery conection in a spray canZ) I use CPC compound used on the flight line for corrosion protection in aviation applications. Also carefully inspect the radiator area for corrosion from the battery as well. It can get in the radiator too. Really bad location to put the battery.

Note that rammed earth house construction employs soil with Portland cement added, pressed (rammed) into molds for the walls of these structures. I imagine you can get concrete of as much as 500 psi compressive strength. Rebar is also used.
