A toolbox ahead of the gooseneck in the truck body and a long trailer that hauls tractor and equipment? Just sold a one year old 25' 7 ton gooseneck for 3200. I'm ten miles east of Bangor on 1A, Bar harbor is about 30 east of me. Check this site out to find places, just keep zooming in, you probably can find your house.

My L245 had a decompression knob and the little electical coil that turned red when the glow plugs got hot. As I recall, the manual stated that 20 - 25 seconds of glow plug heat was sufficient for most starts. I forgot what the temp. perameters were. I did not use the decompression for starting although it was demostrated to me on a cold start when I first purchased the tractor.

To go wider means less pounds per square inch. The 11-28 tells you it has an 11 wide rim which matches to a 12 tire. To put a 13-6 on would stand it on the center and give a more uneven tire life. The rust around the valve stem doesn't mean to much unles there is a lot of metal missing. We have welded valve stem holes shut and started a new hole before but the rims are reasonably priced for replacment.

I have a 24"& 16" bucket because I can't use a 12" with a thumb. It is narrower then 16" though. One mistake Deere made on this bucket is they put four teeth on it. The whole front of the bucket is cutting edge with all those teeth. 3 would have been great. If I had known I would have never ordered it.

Saw your post and here's some food for thought.
Value and Resale is a fairly relative related subject. And I'll give you my experience.
It seems to me,, the more you spend,, the more you loose. Example: I bought a Chinese Shinniu 25hp/4wd tractor in 1990 for 5K. Used it for 7 years and in 1997 I sold it for 4K. If I did my math correct,, it cost me $143 a year to use that tractor. :-) It did all that I needed it to do and in my opinion that is good value And good resale value also. This year '04 I bought my 2nd Chinese tractor for another 5K. Who knows what my resale would be,, if I wanted to sale it. :-) but I could most likely get most of my money out of it right now,, If I wanted to, I might could even make a profit if I wanted to sale my tractor, but I don't want to, because it is the very best value that I could find. And with PS, 4wd, canopy, Spring Suspension Seat, it is the best tractor that I have ever owned. It rides almost as good as my pickup truck. :-)

I have been told---and have done many times myself---that using 12 volts to jump start a 6v is okay. Made the ol' Ford 9N start like someone gave it a new engine! I wouldn't run any accessories when you're doing it--like the headlights which will probably blow with double the power.

If you are still convinced you want to use a pure 6v power pak, try looking into sealed lead-acid batteries used for alarms and automatic-on fire exit signs and security lighting. Do a search on the web for "surplus 6 volt" batteries.

I have seen the CCM (Carter and Carter Machinery, Tenn.) ad for a full TNT kit at $600 including two cylinders, joystick controller, and hoses. I haven't asked what shipping would cost, but shouldn't be too bad. I am guessing that's probably a pretty good deal. Does anyone have experience with these kits? Good or bad impressions? Feel free to email privately if prefer. At $600 it seems like that is well worth it. Any other good sources to recomend? I saw another one here somewhere, but they were more like $1200 I think. I am not sure why the difference.

I'm looking for a loader that will work well on a 2020. I'd prefer something newer with single stick control and live hydraulics out to the bucket. Does anyone know if there is something availble out there?<br>

And I applaud your observations. :-) The tractor is unrefined, the parts sometimes, especially the sheetmetal doesn't allign exactly correct, Doesn't have a steering wheel hand warmer!, Doesn't have GPS!, Doesn't have a stereo or telephone!, and don't whatever you do, take it to a tractor beauty contest!... But
So far when I get on it, the dam thing starts, when I give it the gas the dam thing pulls, when I get to the other end it turns, and the next morning it is ready to do it all over again at about 1/2 the price of the American Brand names New. I say if you have the extra money, then go buy one of the nice American Brands,, because they are without a doubt better. But if you want to get the job done at about 1/2 the price,, then there is no other option that I know of, other than buying used and sometimes that turns out to be a deep hole to dig out of. :-)

I read your posts and I am encouraged by your comments about the Jinma tractor.
I'm just a poor country boy myself and buying the American Brand names new were out of the question for me,, so I looked at the foreign brands and opted for the Jinma. I wanted to get the 254 but that would have been another 1K so I got the 224 even though I spent more than I wanted to for a new tractor,, I wanted a 3cylinder, 4wd, PS, canopy, and spring suspension seat. That combo would have been well over 10K with the American Brand names and I spent less than 1/2 that assembled.
So far so good with 90hrs of 5ft box blading behind the dozer. It has made moving into the swamp land that I bought much easier. :-) It made easy work for the 400 ft driveway. And when the cable guys came-- :-), I hooked the chain to their 4wd! cable burier tractor and pulled it throught the muk(mud), Or maybe I should say drug it through the mud. :-) We got the job done though and I was most appreciative to them that they were able to get my phone and tv cable lines laid in the ground.
Do you do your own maintenance? I try to do the preventitive and adjustments myself when I think that I can.
This is my 2nd Chinese tractor. My 1st was a 254 Shinniu that I kept for 7 years, after it had done all the work that I had for it to do. I am hopeful that this little Jinma will keep running as I intend to try and do all of my tasks with it at my new location. My next piece of equipment will probable be an auger for helping out with the fence posts.
Do you think my little 22hp engine will operate a 12" auger? I think that the pto hp is about 19,, but I'm not sure about that.
Also have you had your headbolts retorqued?

Well I am with you for buying form other than NH. When it come to getting parts or optional installation kits ECT. 1 you either get the wrong stuff. 2 it is back ordered for months on end. or 3 half the pieces are missing.<br>

Really stinks during the holidays and all. A couple years ago a union group where I work went on strike for 3 months. The operation came to a complete stop the day after they walked and nearly everyone, except for the mechanics, was laid off. We didn't have the scab thing to worry about. About a month into it groups of laid off employees would frequent the spots where the negotiations were being held and would plead with the striking employees to ratify the contract so everyone could get back to work and their benefits would start again. People with children etc. One lady actually popped one of the negotiating members in the mouth as he was leaving. She was in a bad situation. No charges were pressed. I did learn one thing during the strike, can't believe a thing that the media puts out and the stuff that they do would just make me madder than he-- because it was obvious that the reporter had done hardly any research into the story.
I have a friend who worked with some Eastern Airline scabs. These people crossed the mechanic's picket line. Later, after Eastern went belly up, these people were hired by my friend's airline. Once the mech's learned about these people's past their lives at work was pure hell. Nobody talked to them, etc. Guess their tool boxes would go on globe spanning cargo flights.
These people you're talking about have nothing like that to worry about. They go in , screw up some machinery more than likely and then head back to their three hots and a cot, the concrete hilton. They don't care and they know that they are protected so they insult as many people they can and if they see someone get upset it just adds fuel to their fire. You're correct, thieves, thugs, gang members, drug dealers etc. All out to steal the American dream from whomever they can.

Thanks for the info sparkky. I think I will bite the bullet a buy the LandPride, if for nothing else it's heavier than all the others that I have looked at, and I really need some weight in the back. Plus it may hold up to my inexperience.

Set the hand brake AND step on the brake pedal before you shift out of reverse.

When I do this I can feel the transmission "relax" and it shifts very easily.
