I cant see putting out the extra expense on Synthetics when Rotella T does such a fine job. Besides, I dont of anyone who would go with extended drains on a tractor. It is best to follow the guidelines for oil change intervals on tractors mainly due to the fact that they rest more than they run, which allows moisture to build up in the crankcase, which no matter which oil you use, synthetics or dino, you still have the same results.

Fact of the matter is, I have a 99 F350 Dually Diesel that I run strictly rotella T in, and get blackstone reports for almost every oil change and my intervals run from 5500 to 9500 miles between and the results are always within specs, with little wear, and low soot.

Blueman, those first pictures where taken right after delivery. The tractor now has 50 hours and a scratch or two.

I would love to have a 50th anniversary. But it will have to wait until my youngest graduates from college. My all time favorite corvette is the '62. Maybe one of these days.

I've played most of my life, and have owned both electric and acoustic instruments of various types. I would take the purist position and say that there is no substitute for a vibrating string. Although the entertainment value of lots of electronic bells and whistles attracts the attention of the young student, the rudiments that make for good musicianship are not necessarily served that way.

A Yamaha upright is a great sounding instrument, with a good feel. If the intention was to foster an *interested* piano student, that (or something equivalent) would be the way to go. I would love to have a Yamaha Grand myself, but my climate forbids such foolishness.

I am also a fanatic about tuning, so I learned how to tune pianos. With the electronic tuners available, and a book from the library, one can keep a decent piano in good shape for a long time.

If practicality requires the electric route, I would recommend against the "furniture" style of units with built in speakers. Go for a professional quality keyboard (I like the Kurzweil sound) and then get the best sounding speakers you can afford. They will make all the difference. Don't worry about different sounds, concentrate on a piano sound you want hear for a long time, one with lots of dynamics. You can always get a little external synthesizer box with a zillion sounds later, for not much $$$. (Plugs into the midi port.)

The mushrooms are from burried decaying organic matter, logs, stumps, lumber, etc. Most do not harm the lawn, just unsitely. The pale color could be iron deficiency, a likely cause wrong PH. Circles could be fusarium blight

I have a tree stand that has been in the woods with just spoils around it for more than 13 years now. Yes its 16' tall and 8x8 and has made it thru a few tornados that took out 50 acres of my 160 and many more storms w/winds in excess of 70mph. I am a firm believer in no cement around the poles. As for sand and gravel/pea or other around the poles. By me anyway that would only make the water around the pole worse for the water does not drain in the clay/rocky soil. Anything that would be like a hole with sand/gravel in it would just suck up any water and then hold it like a basin.
The new treated wood I have used is great. Here is a statement describing it.

KDAT lumber is lumber that has been kiln-dried after treatment. Pressure treatment involves impregnating wood with preservative chemicals. As it dries after treatment, lumber often shrinks, cups, and warps. But if pressure-treated lumber is dried before it�s installed, it will undergo only limited dimensional changes. KDAT lumber has been dried and �pre-shrunk� to prevent substantial shrinkage, cupping, or warping. It�s dried in a controlled environment at the treatment plant�not after it has already been built into place and become part of a structure
Also be careful which quality you buy, the cheapest is not the best and just because it says green treat does not mean it can be used under ground, or even as a ground contact. There is AC2 end use-above ground! Then a AC2 perma wood ground contact also a marine grade below surface.
A non-arsenic treated wood imho is the best for everyone around its use. Remember this
Just because it say's Green Treated does not mean it can contact the ground. Do your home work on which treated method and quality you use. The dollar more a board for the better product will go a long way in the life of your project. Also any fasteners used underground NEED to be stainless, and buy a quality stainless screw. Read up on it before you buy. here again just because it is stainless dont mean it wont rust or corrode. usually the cheaper screws (stainless) are NOT a deal. If in dought ask! If still in dought buy the spendy ones more times than not you will be buying the best.
LAST THING
Very important, keep your tags from the ENDS OF THE TREATED WOOD. ALso if you feel real ambitious take a picture of all your wood with the tags on (while in a pile) and then take a pic of your completed project with a dtaed reciept and a news paper (with the date showing on it)all in the same pic.
Keep your tags for the wood?// WHY??? because that is your warrenty in most cases. You will have to contact the company for your warrenty if you need it in a few years and you will also have to prove that is what you used and when. (IE: that is why you take picture's, it is not definate proof that is what you used but it is enough for the company NOT to fight you.
3 things to remember
1. Check your application and buy the right treated
lumber for your project.
2. Keep your tags and proof of buiding with it.
3. Wrap the outside of your ground contact lumber in areas where the ground heaves with a product that will move with the ground and not want to pull on your poles (like tar paper or styro-foam.

The difference being, weight is not the critical factor in designing an engine for a pickup.

That's why they will happily spend thousands of dollars for aluminum wheels. Even just a few pounds of paid frieght lost due to the extra weight of steel wheels alone over nearly a million paid miles adds up to more money than hundreds of aluminum wheels.

An engine with dramatically less weight is a huge selling point in this instance.

Besides, only the smallest of delivery trucks would have an engine as small as a 5.9 litre Cummins. The ISM which is pretty standard in Cummins-powered tractors is an 11 litre displacement as an example, the bigger ISX is 15 litres. That is 2.5 times the size, a big difference.

In a pickup the only weight consideration is that of the relatively light suspension in a vehicle that small. The big goal is smooth power, to compete with the equivalent gas motor. In that case the 8 cylinder wins hands down.

If you go with chains, just watch the one side where the steering link connects, there is less clearance there. Once I fitted the chains, I let the inner loop go a link looser to increase clearance by letting the chain ride a little farther out on the tire. I made up for it by tightening the outter loop and using several chain tighteners to prevent any slack on the inside.

OK. I'll be cereal now. They were a set of orphaned Nokian snow tires. The bolt pattern is the same but I put the tires on white spoke wheels.<br>

Actually I suspect the bolt pattern is slightly different. The guys at the tire store tell me there is a 5 hole on 4.5 inch pattern and another pattern that is 5 holes and metric. The difference amounts to about 1/32 of an inch. <br>

I am pretty sure the 'Bota is the metric version, but at a max speed of 25 mph, if there is a slight misalignment, I can't feel it.<br>

Art: I would be willing to bet the babies milk money that a BX or an RTV on a dyno would show a measurable drop in HP at the wheels with HyTran instead of Super UDT in the sump.

I have a 50 amp nd alternator off a reefer unit. It bolts up to the existing brackets on the tractor but I�m waiting for the warranty to run out before I dig into the wire harness and change the external regulator to the internal one.

Absolutely go with the 60". Anything narrower will not work well past the first angle setting. I've had no problems using a 60" blade with by BX1500. I do suggest however getting one specifically made for sub-CUTs. I bought a full-sized blade (about 4" taller moldboard) and it works fine, but it takes some wrangling to make the 3-point hookup work. Also, if your drive is gravel get the optional skid shoes. They will keep the blade from digging in.

Oh. I think I understand now. Ibrown, I didn't know you already had the problem of the protruding nails, but thought you were trying to avoid it. If it were my pole barn, I would just slap OSB on the interior of the purlins, which would cover the nails in the spaces and give you an interior wall covering. Then I would pull non-sheathed wire through conduit mounted on the interior surface of your interior OSB. This seems to me the easiest, cheapest way to go. Of course, the downside is that you will have visible conduit and surface mounted outlet boxes, etc., but that may be okay for a pole barn. I, for one, would like to hear what you decide to do. Good luck.

Glad you got your lights mounted OK. I also am not sure where to locate a switch. I don't want to put a hole in the dash that might allow water to leak in when I wash the tractor. I finally got a couple of pictures added to my photo file. I just put the switch in the tupperware container on the ROPS bar. Perhaps I'll just leave it that way, it seems to be a good place so far.

Nice pictures. I hope to upgrade my snow removal equipment to snow blower too. I just can't afford it right now.

Hi Dennis, yes I was still blocked as of Friday. JimP above says he was blocked also. Could be that new policies are going into effect. Maybe viewing sites is OK but posting is monitored for security reasons. I find it curious because everything else on the net is wide open and accessible from work. Broken - I looked Megaloc up - it is manufactured by Hercules Chemical Company. We got our can about 8 years ago in someplace like True Value Hardware store. It should be sold in any good hardware store. It appears it does not contain Teflon but will fix any leak.

Hi Tom. Glad to hear from you. I actually worked for Wayne, he was assistant foreman when I worked in the toolroom upstairs at Clausen. Lee was an apprentice when I started there and while I was training Gerry was also working there. I worked for J. Zitkus at the t-plant. Too bad the way things are going, It was a good place to make a decent living. I never even thought about a discount when I bought mine, a 2015 Mahindra with a fel, oh yes it is a --His Sissy Tractor--HST, lol, I read your bit about gear drive being for real men.. As I read these quite a bit, I will watch for you and keep in touch, and if I decide to buy another, I will definately check the discount out.. thanks for answering and hopefully this lockout will end soon......John

To all who responded, I thank you. Although I did do it the way I was planning the help some of you gave was very reassuring and the project was a success! I put in a 84 gal. pressure (bladder) tank and it DOES NOT LEAK!. Also the water in my house now can run for (what seems like) forever before the pump kicks on.<br>
I just hope I am not putting my foot in my mouth for it has only been an hour since I pressured it up. Also I let the connections set for 2 hours before fireing it up, (per directions on pvc cement. I never knew you should let it sit that long.<br>
Anyway thanks again guy!!!! And GALS!!!!<br>

Art; About the second time I used the hoe I taped a two dollar Mennards torpedo level to the grab bar in front of the control sticks. Mine is far from perfect level but it sure helps. Frank.
