Has anyone used pallet forks for picking up brush and logs? It seems like it might work. Some brush will obviously fall through (which can be picked up by the bucket later).<br>

Obviously, a grapple rake or 4in1 bucket would be the ultimate tool but I was thinking that a pallet fork would be a good cost effective alternative. Thoughts?

The other option is to just spend $8 and buy another hitch ball.

They come in two shank sizes, 3/4" & 1" depending on the weight they are rated to pull. The same is true of the 2" balls.

I would go with DRankin's Idea. If the snow melts often through out the winter I wouldn't spend 2 to 4 thousand on a HD plow and putting a blade on the rear of the tractor is a Pain In The Neck:)

The coated screws? Were they DECK-Mates? Greenish with a sqaure head bit driver.

sounds logical. I appreciate the response Art. I used it again and no leak. when I tell you it was wet it was wet. Gotta love a Kubota- they heal themselves!

Update on my storm cleanup: After several delays due to wet weather, I have pulled many logs using the choker cable and have now moved some bigger logs using the 3pth drawbar, grab hooks and chain. The latter method works really well and does less damage to the ground than dragging with the choker. Today I moved some 18" diameter, 16' long pine logs, no problem.

dklopfenstein, the Rental Upgrade Kit is uncompatible with the MMM. You must remove the MMM, the mount frame, and hydraulic cylinder in order to install the skid plates. That is why I haven't yet installed my kit yet.

I am in the midst of putting on a Gearmore cement mixer (a one bagger) on my B2710 (same as yours for all intents and purposes). You can expect to have to cut a PTO shaft to fit. This mixer is usually used on a larger JD. In my case the PTO ends up fairly short, but does allow for a useful range of tilt without uncoupling. Still, at the extreme ends of travel the universal joints will complain, so you have to be careful there.<br>

The top cylinder needs to be about 16" retracted at the most. It's a close fit.

After a couple hours on my 7800 with the 1/4" valve, I decided I needed an indicator for the position of the 3-point so I wouldn't continuously have to turn around. The first indicatior I built was similar to what Murf described with a cable and a scale, but had some difficulty with the accuracy.

If you look at my pics 2 and 4, you can see the indicator box for the second generation indicator I built. It runs off a bell crank on the lift arms, and a link rod and crank at the box. The box is graduated in 1/4" increments. I can read a 1/4" movement at three point arms with this set up, and after some practice I don't even miss the position control. I can repeat the position of the implement by setting the indicator in the same position. The 1/4" valve works well for this.

Mike, I wouldn't worry much about the hours if it has been well cared for, under good care the engine should go 5,6000 hours without a major overhaul. I know nothing about snowblowers and will not comment.<br>

lbrown59, You are right I stand corrected. Power Service can be used year-round. I Had used the John Deere Additive for so many years (which states to add above 32 degrees) that just popped out, Sorry for the mis-information:) I almost forgot one of the reasons for switching. Please, don't tell the folks at the Power Service Club:))<br>

I'm wanting to "strengthen" my bucket's tilt hydraulic controls, and wondered if there is a way to do so. My neighbor has an older Kubota (early 80's sub-compact), and he can increase/decrease the relief by turning a screw. I removed the cover of the relief valve that controls my bucket tilt hydraulic assembly, and although there is a spring there, I don't see a way to adjust the tension. Can this be done? Am I even trying to adjust the right thing? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If you want a hydralulic top link, you will need a 3rd remote because you probably don't want to remove your loader and use one of those. If you don't have one, the 3rd valve kit costs around $205 at the dealer. I found a guy that will sell me one for $171 plus $10 shipping and has the rest of JD accessories for a discount. Power beyond, mid PTO, telescopic lift arms.

Got a lot of summer projects waiting for it next summer. Man this is no time to be starting winter. Chomping at the bit with worst case of cabin ever.

2*Got mine 9-4-4 got 78 hours on it. Done a bunch of things in that 78 Hrs.

I'm just chiming in to say that I found this thread facinating. Here in New England we have a few Crawdads, but only in lakes or streams. I never heard of them anywhere else. I can't imagine going barefoot in your grass. I assume that they have to stay wet sinsce they have gills, so how do they live in your lawn? Is it always water just below the surface? where did they come from? Are you connected to a permanent stream or something?

I sell a few hundred yards of a variety of mulch every year. I lease a 10 acre parcel of land just to store the stuff. I buy it from Maine & Canada via tractor trailer with a walking floor. The area I store my Red cedar is some what close to wetlands. Well, the town found out I was storing it there & tested it. I was also required during this to get the dye ingredients from the supplier. What all this discover was that the dye is food dye! So harmless it couldn't even hurt an earthworm!

It almost sounds to me like they never dhecked the hyro fluid after they started it ounce. The filter will occupy 1 full quart. It almost sounds to me like your a quart low. Mine was doing the same thing & a quart of hy guard fixed it.
