dkheckmanl, #2 is just fine. Go to your local automotive store and get
1* (Power Service) additive for diesels. This additive should be added when it is above 32 degrees.

Thanks for the insight! I verified through the serial # that it is a 1987 model. It does have MFWD and the three point hitch. The plow blade has hydraulic angle along with the up/down mode. At one time it had a belly mower so it does have the mid pto.

Is there anything to be concerned about with the 2700 hrs?

I have never owned a diesel before. Always had the V-Twin Kawasaki's in my previous Deeres. My current ride is an X575. I plan to keep it as it is perfect for mowing. It just doesn't have the physical size/weight to handle the drifting on my 900' paved driveway. I thought the 755 with almost double the weight would be more appropriate.

Also what size rear snowblower would this machine at 15pto hp handle? Any suggestions?

Altho I've never used it flyash from coal fired powerplants has become another source for fill in our aeria, it seems to pack well and is less expensive than lime chips, (the most common fill here). Your comment on waiting till a later date with the concreet is by far the best thing you can do, that lets the fill settle on it's own, the longer the wait the better. Frank.

I use a Landpride Model 2572 on my 4410, it has seven teeth and cuts six ft. wide. As has been said before if you don't already have a rear hydraulic outlet you'll need one for a hydraulic top link. I've moved lots of dirt with this rig and don't have a hydraulic top link and really never thought I needed one. So my thoughts are, there are lots of good box blades built, but my choice for quality in most any three point equipment has allways been Landpride. Why not just get the boxblade first before spending the money on the hyd. toplink just to see if you really think you need one, you can allways add it later. Frank.

I parked my BX2200 in the garage 2 days ago to find a small 4" puddle of fluid under the left front side of the axle. Looks like it was coming out where the front tire assembly spins on the bottom of the axle. I checked the fluid and it was actually above the full mark a little. I used it all day today and it's bone dry- no more leak and the fluid level is still a little above full. Am I dreaming or could it have been the cold weather? I've put 70 hours on it since the last service. When I bought it the previous owner had the front axle fluid changed. I have a feeling it will show up again. Any good suggestions for a parts list or diagram on what I need to do to take this apart. I am pretty hand and work on my cars for 90% of the repairs. This looks like it might be a tough repair with the 4x4. Any suggestions are appreciated...Jim

Greg,,seems like you got a lemon jinma,,farm pro??By having your kama sit in field for two hrs while you went and got a fuel line,,you already have more down time than I do on my jinma,mine has never failed to start or stop after starting,,I've done a few little things to it but its never broken down,thats down time to me,,,my jinmas got over 300 hrs,,I bet your kama doesn't have 100 hrs,,,so you see,jinmas don't have more down time than kamas,,maybe your jinma did,,but jinmas as a whole don't,,and specificly mine.Thats the bone I had with your advise/statement to the guy,you said kamas had less down time than jinmas,,number 1,you ain't had your kama long enough to know what kind of tractor it is going to turn out to be,one way or another,,when I first got mine,people would ask me what I thought about it,,I told them I didn't know yet,,after 1 year,still told them I couldn't tell them,,finally this fall,I actually recommended it to a couple of guys,,,,so you might say you had a jinma before,and you had a lot of trouble with it and your mechanic,,just don't say they all are that way,,your starting to sound like a big three owner,,,,,thing

Your hitch can be over run from a load pushing harder then the weight of the hitch can hold down. This will cause damage to the hitch assembly. Mounting them in the bucket of the loader is also a nice option.

You need to consider the time of year and how busy the airports that you have layovers at are. Some are a breeze at 30 to 45 minutes layover and the next one will make you miss your flight if you don't have over an hour. When you do miss yur flight you are really out if they are busy. We waited for over 6 hours in the windy city before getting a flight out to a neighboring town. just can't think of another way to travel so quickly for the occasional inconvience of a goofed flight.

yeah, i hear ya bro...or those cocoa shells, those stupid things are terrible. You cannot do anything around them. I guess these rubber dingies aren't so bad. And those rocks are terrible, and if you ever have to match up old stones with new stones in new beds its almost impossible.

Sometimes you get the made in the usa sticker on a product and take it home patriotically...and then you have to patriotically call a company to do it for you when you figure you can't pull it off with that equipment, and you know, the company is using that same piece of equipment that you didn't buy becuase it isn't american

Farm Industry News had an article that said Duerr chippers used to be handled by Outdoor Power Products and that Global Recycling Equipment at shredderhotline dot com now handles parts for Duerr chippers. You might try these guys for parts and manuals.

Bradco makes one but they are pricey---I found a used one for $4500--new $7000 and you need rear hydraulic remotes for lifting the trenching arm itself. Home Depot's rental dept. near me had Vermeer trencher self-propelled for $3800 that was nearly new. Every three years they cycle through all their equipment with new.

that 955 was a great tractor one of the first jd tractors i ever used my friend bought it and used it very little he owns a tree service when it sold it had 500 hours on it 350 of them i put on it it sold for 12500. 60" bush hog 70 loader plug araetor rear snow blade and a york rake i been kicking myself every since for not buying it but i had no idea what it was worth. infact he offered me a nice 3/4 ton 4x4 truck with dump bed, trailor, 955 all attachments for 20,000.00! i'm really sick about not buying it as i'm in the market for a tractor now. almost bought a 790 they told me it was a close too the 955 as i could get new < with out hydro> but upon compare of lift capacities/ hp it don't come close in my opinion i'll be looking 990. since there are no 955 around here for sale and i been looking over a year. i can tell you this much its a great driving tractor your wife will love it! my son at the time was about 12 he drove it used the loader and mower with no problems the peddles were very easy too push. the loader was very strong for the size tractor it is.

Think about it though, aphids, gypsy moths, and the like, thats ornamentals. The only thing you've really got on evergreens in the occasional borer and the bagworms, which are easily fixed. And the shaping isn't really necessary if when the tree is young you shape it right to start with. (lateral pruning)

Thanks for the suggestion. It looks like it might work well for me. We have a local mom-and-pop equipment manufacturer, Ringo Hill Equipment, who makes blades to order. I can probably get them to throw in welding on the lugs for free and they are $150 to $225 less than BEFCO and Bushhog on a six or seven foot blade. I can buy the cylinder myself from Northern Tool and the diverter valve and hoses. It looks like a great solution.

A good price on a 990 4WD with R-1 ag tires would be around $14,000. Figure another $3,000 to $3,500 for a 430 FEL. $500 for set up and filling the rear tires. You are still going to need more rear ballast weight so either tire weights or some type of implement (box blade on the 3 pt. hitch?) I would STRONGLY suggest rolling up all of the other goodies such as worklights, seat arm rest, block heater,bucket tooth bar, deluxe canopy, etc. in the purchase price. As Grassy mentioned about the ROPS; if you are very tall at all, you will be hitting your head on it so I suggest wrapping it in foam pipe insulation or some other material. $18,000 for a demo tractor with 45 hours and no other add ons is a ridiculous price. Below is a link to give you some idea as to reasonable pricing that can be had. Good luck!
