I read on another forum it was taking a new owner around 15 to 20 minites to remove or install a CK 20 MMM.
Raise the from up a couple inches by driving the front up on a block/ramp or lift the front slightly with the loader, pull 4 pins and the PTO shaft, remove mower.
I have no experiance with a CK 20 MMM, but I can't possibly see why it would take an hour to remove/install.

As for insulation, a common trick is to use a short length of small diameter plastic culvert, then fill it with expanded mica insulation. It will not absorb water and is not bug-friendly either.

Don't see that it's truly necessary to drag out an explanation of three simple words Richard. But I don't think you're going to spit this bone out of your teeth till I do. The three words were "less downtime too". <br>

My definition of downtime is when the tractor is NOT available to jump on and go to work. Of the time total time that the KAMA has been in my possession, it's been available 99.9% of the time. It sat in the field for two hours one day, while I ran to town to have a flexible fuel line rebuilt. That's it. Only other labor I've put into it is cleaning/torquing/adjusting/fluids/filters. <br>

The Yanmar would sometimes sit a while, waiting for a part to come in the mail. But over the years probably had a good 95% availability. Fortunately the Yanmar was almost always available to stand in for the Jinma, during the hundreds of hours it spent in the dealer's shop. Or when it was laid up in my shed for weeks at a time, waiting for warranty parts originally promised as "overnight delivery". Or when the starter pinion gear wouldn't engage the flywheel on a cold morning. In two years as a Jinma owner, I think rating them (the two I had) at 50% availability would be generous.<br>

Not that everybody's going to run into such lousy dealer support as I. But since you keep pushing for an answer - that's the best I can do.<br>

My father has a '49 Massey-Harris Pony with the following attachments: cultivator, spring tooth harrow, disc harrow, and plow blade. It still runs fair, he has kept up on the maintainence and care of the tractor. It has been kept outside so it has weathered some good NH winters and has some rust spots. Could you please let me know what a fair asking price would be for him to sell it privatley. Thank you for your time.<br>

According to Machinery Link these were manufactured between 1976 & 1981. Figure around $2,500 to $3,000 if is pretty decent shape. Less if run down.

As I think of it I don't think pulling just the floormat will help to replace the bolts. If you can't get it from underneath you will likely have to pull the floorboard. That's not hard, just sort of a pain that could add a couple of hours to the job.

The 4400 was manufactured between 1999 and 2001. Your machine was probably a 2001 that did not sell until 2002. Perhaps it may have been a late manufactured 4400 which finished production in 2002 but I would think this unlikely. Good luck with the sale!

What you say is probably correct but I have never noticed this if it is ocuring. I use the grader blade with hydraulic turn and I use a log splitter I made that uses tractor hydraulic and mounts on my 3pth. I have used both of these with this setup and have never had a problem.

Dave, sounds to me like you are inclined toward thte 990. From what you describe with respect to intended usage; I think you will be much better off with the 990. If the BH is not critical for immediate use; I would suggest the 990. Overall it has much greater capacities and abilities than the 790 (the 790 is a fine machine for its hp and size) which seems to be what you are after. For the money spent, the 990 is a very good buy. I think you will be VERY satisfied with it. Just bear in mind that the 990 is MUCH larger than the 790 and cannot use a MMM or mid pto. Be sure to order 4WD, it is a MUST! With 35 to hp, it is a VERY capable basic collar shift tractor. They come standard with R-1 ag tires but you may want to consider the R-4 industrial bar tires if you do much operating on turf you care about. The R-1's are much better for traction not to mention about $450 cheaper.

That comment about swivelling around to eyeball the implement reminded me I should share a solution we came up with for this very problem.

In the course of working CUT's everyday, all day, you do a lot of turning around. To the occasional user this is not a problem, after 10 hours straight the novelty wears off. Also, every time an operator turns around is one more moment they're not looking where they're going, and therefore one more potential accident.

Certain tasks require the operator to raise the 3pth and then return it to a *specific point*, not just down. Working with a rear blade, box or otherwise, or a mower, lifting it to clear obstacles for instance, requires a lot of up & down.

Most 3pth controls do have a moveable indidcator which can be adjusted as a stopper for the 3pth, but that doesn't tell the operator where the 3pth IS, just where it is set to stop desending.

I got the idea from the various indicators used on FEL's, but instead used it to show the 3pth position. I ran a 'push/pull' type of cable, the kind used for a manual choke, in fact I used a choke cable kit. When mounted somewhere easily visible in front of the operator, on the upright loader mount for instance, and the end normally connected to the choke flap instead connected to the rack arm of the 3pth, in near it's pivot point where the travel is short, and in the full up position, the 'choke knob' will raise and lower in front of the operator to indicate the position of the 3pth.

A scale bar or indicator lines next to the choke knob will tell the operator at a glance the position of the 3pth.

Depending on how much travel you set the cable to make it can be surprisingly accurate.

Believe me when I say folks, the "Murphy Pipe" was the result of MANY hours of R & D time plowing snow. LOL.

It's entirely possible that someone will come up with a better idea, but I doubt it will be as quick and easy.

I forgot to ask if the glow plugs were the same as the ones replaced last year. Maybe they had a bunch of these left in inventory and pawned them off on me again! I will check today and find out about this. The CC dealership did say that the glow plugs didn't look abnormal but two were completely dead when he tested them. If I have this problem again next year I sure don't expect to pay for the glow plugs. I will change them myself it the dealer gives me new ones. It doesn't look like a hard job. In fact it's kind of like changing sparkplugs. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Does the gst shift quickly you ask....I will say that it does. There is a quick pause between shifts, sometimes you wont even feel it. The only time you will is going up hill. I love my Gst & would never want anything else! Thats just me though. I will say that you wont be shifting as much as you thnk you will. I find myself in #6 90% of the time with just using my shuttle to go forward to reverse alot. You can start out in #6 from a stopped position yet that gear has alot of power & has a good range of speed from idle to full throttle. #1, #6 & #11 are my 3 most often used gears.

Crown in the road refers to the finish grade, leaving the middle higher than the edge to shed water and reduce potholes,and mud. Like alot of things we build, water is the enemy and proper site prep.,subgrade, base material,surface material, drainage and elevations are critical to a road that will last.<br>
It all depends on the site,as to what's needed. <br>

Just had mine off my BX1500 several times..........best method is to just grab it and keep rocking it........It is only a pressure fit although a tight pressure fit.......Once you put it back on you dont need to tighten the nut to much to hold it.
