Jarndt, Before you cut any metal, I wanted to be sure you notice that I edited my post. The distance vertically between pins is 15", not 12. I see you have a BX1500, so do I. One thing though, I have shortened my top link by 2". I don't know if this will make yours different or not.

Cliff, I am right in the begining stages of doing what you described. How did you make out. Any tips? I have a JD 4400 with FEL, and a Cat 941 track loader at my disposal. I will get a box scraper before I start. Any info would be great.

Go look at the TR3 rake at the web site. It is a must for gravel driveway maintenance! I good friend of mine just bought his a few months ago but sold his tractor to buy anouther toy he felt would be of more use. He is selling his TR3 for $1000 less from what he paid new. If you want his number, Let me know.

Also remember that most 4-in-1's have a longer/deeper bottom which effectively decreases both lifting and breakout forces---the longer the distance from the lifting arms or bucket pivots, the less power is avaiable regardless of weight of load or attachments. I have skid steer with an industrial grapple sort of like a 4-in-1, but no dozer. It weighs a good 800 lb. If you ned something to pick up brush, consider buying an aftermarket grapple kit--a guy on e-bay makes and sells one for less than $400, and all you do is weld it to the top of the bucket and hook up hydraulics. I made a brush hauler attachment for my backhoe out of 1" sq. bar spaced about 4" apart and 5' long that looks like a big grate (or a multi-tine manure fork) with a lip that grips the cutting edge and goes under the bucket. 3/4" bolts hold to the bucket along the back. I can pick up about 5 yards of loose brush at a time. Also good for sifting rocks, picking up trash, building material debris, and fire wood chunks. Cost about $200 to make.

Also you could weld two flat pieces of steel on each end of the pipe and bolt it to the insides of the bucket ,the same way a tooth bar bolts on.

rocco - That is the exact set up I have. I bought it last spring. I paid $26,500 + tax. I shopped at about 6 dealers. $26,200 was the best I could find but They said it would be 8 - 10 weeks to take delivery & I didnt want to waite so I paid a few hundred extra to get it sooner. In my opinion, I wouldn't buy outside of my home state due to warrenty issues. If you are using it strickly for personal use then it may not be so critical to you if the machine is out for a while but I use mine commercially practically everyday & down time is everything. As grinder mentioned, Art White is a member on here & a real nice, down to earth guy who I didnt know at the time of my purchase otherwise I probably would have spoke to him about purchasing from him.

Thanks Doc! I still stop by and read from time to time and occasionally post. Spent the entire year working on my boat as time allowed. Have not been conputering as much but making great progress on it. Nice looking Kubota 4x4 by the way.

Not sure if anyone else was aware of the changes in Pressure Treated lumber or if was a nationwide change?<br>
But as of April 04' the formular was changed to reduce the arsenic content. The "New" Nature wood" (nice name) Has a few issues; You MUST use stailess or DOUBLE dipped galv. fasteners,also when flashing will contact it, that must be copper flashing. This new formular will eat aluminum and steel. I also noticed a 15 yr life on some I have bought,not 40 yrs like the old stuff. FYI<br>
I have heard it is a matter of time before a bank will require you to test your soil around your deck of your house(when selling) with the old formular wood. I could be builing alot of deck's in the future.

Tighten both turn-buckles equally until the side-to-side sway is about 1/2 inch and the implement is centered between the tires. Don't overtighten... it needs a tiny bit of slop to raise and lower without binding.

Shame on your dealer for not showing you what to do here.

I'm not sure what the pricing structure was or who made the hoses, but I do know the Yamaha engine in the SHO is awesome - and about the only part of that POS that hasn't broken.

I add a few onces of coolant conditioner every year to help prevent cavitation.<br>
Many big trucks have conditioner right in the coolant filters, just change the filter each year to recharge the coolant.<br>
I have seen cavitation before in truck engines, looked like tiny pin holes in the liner from the outside (coolant side) of the liner in. One tiny pin hole that makes its way all the way through the liner was all it takes to cause serious problems requiring an engine rebuild.

Im in the market for a digital camcorder for Xmas.<br>
What are the advantages/disadvantages of miniDVD vs. miniDV? <br>
What Im reading is that the mini DV format gives a little better quality while the DVD is easier to transfer to a PC or DVD player. The miniDV has been around awhile as the miniDVD is fairly new technology. The DV is less expensive than the DVD. <br>
Anyone have experience with these? Im going from VHSC, so Im not really familiar with digital camcorders.
