Thanks for the response. Ended up taking it to the dealer. Too cold in Brockville to work on this without a heated shop!

LAST WEEK MY PTO QUIT. I FOUND A MESSAGE THAT WAS SIMULAR, IT WAS DATED 5-31-09. BY READING IT, I FOUND THE WIRE TORN FROM THE PLUG THAT HITS BOTH SILANOIDS. I REMOVED THE SILANOIDS AND REPAIRED THE PLUG. THAT WORKS FINE NOW. WERE OR WHAT LOCATION UNDER THE TRACTOR SHOULD I LOOK FOR A WIRE PARTAINING TO THE PETTLES? FROM DAY ONE, THERE ARE WIRE PLUGS ON THIS TRACTOR THAT HAVE NEVER HAD A WIRE PLUGGED INTO IT. THANKS.

HAVINF THE SAME PROBLEM MYSELF. APPEARS YOU NEED A JD TOOL TO PULL THE CLUTCH OFF. DOERSN'T LOOK HARD, BUT THE TOOL APPEARS TO BE A MUST. PART# for tool is jdg813-1.

My main concern is using it to plow my drive, does it have enough power. I have not attempted doing it yet and it is 500ft with an uphill grade. Do you see any problems plowing using the BX. Other than that I will use it for mowing. I plan on getting a bucket loader for it if I keep it.

I was given a price of 13800 for the b2410 and he said the b7800 would be about another 1200. I'm not sure what more I would get, I'll have to take a look at it.

You might want to try shut off values in the hoses that you could reach on the tractor seat posible another way to control the oil so you can work what you want to.Just a thought might work.

I look at one a couple Yrs. ago Do you have to take of the brackets that holds the mmw on?It look like you have to install each time you need to put it on for the mower look like it would be a hassel, and a lot of time to do it.

I have a 72" deere mower deck needed a vacuum system The main problem was deere not wanting to sell me the shoot boot that catches the grass.They have this over in the UK. but don't sell in U.S. so had to find dealer that would ship to U.S. I even talk to deere where they make the compacts he had the iformation about said they would't get it for me.I spent about 1yr.off and on got discourage for a while.The vacuum that deere has is 3pt and ran off the pto.The one i seen was old he wanted to much $$$$ for it so about once a yr.i woul be up that way he would still have it.I had an old trailer type change it to 3pt does pretty good but the green grass gets clog in the vacuum part.When you have a 8" tube going in and a 5" tube going out their is too much going in at one time.So I mow one day and go back over it in a day or two lets the grass dry and be lighter don't have trouble that way.
I don't understand why deere doesn't offer this vacuum system inU.S. they have differant sizes.It has some good features holds a lot more grass than what they have in U.S. pto driven no need for another motor and less up keep and you can dump the grass from the tractor seat.It looks on the order of a big round baler but smaller.

I was also at the iowa state fair.It was out side of the varied industrial building.It might have been the 4115 compact but i thought it was one step below what i have.I have a 4400.I probaly am wrong about the size.Did you check into it?Was that a 2003 model?

I got a 4400 with a 72 in. belly mower i like it but their are somethings they could improve on.Things that would make it faster and easier to adjust.You don't have to count the revolutions and if you miscount then it,s not right.What do you use your mower for?

I finally got to a JD.dealer and look at the new style of compacts.
I didn't talk to them because they was closed ( that the best way just to look).The one i look at was a 4410 seen all the switchs on the fender they are handy didn't know what they were all for but could talk to the dealer if i wanted to know.They sure look handy.But have one concern being that there on the fender they would be subjected to all the viberation, the dirt, possible rock and tractor chains to hit them.
The one i look at didn't have the telecopic 3 pt.to bad it didn't have it.Any comenments that the owners might have would be apprecated Do you have any trouble with them or is it to soon since the came out?

I have a 4400 J.D and a super C int. with a 7 ft. cycle bar mower. Was having it bailed but no one even wanted to do it so i use the C the first time then i use the j.d. the seconded time with a 5" brush mower to chop it up then use the C the third time the grass gets chop up the second time then can cycle bar the third time.Lets the grass deterate so won't clog the cycle bar mower.Ben doing this for a couple of yrs.I have only 4 acres.If i could find a used 3pt.cycle bar for my J.D i might get rid of the C then on the other hand you don't find a c with a mounted bar mower to much might want to keep it for old tractor shows and paint it up.

I have a 4400 john deere.I used it only twice all winter ( lack of snow) When I put the rear end in c range(i call it road gear) I couldn't get in that range after a couple of thyes it went in.It's still hard to get in that range but can still get it their.I was wondering if any of you had the same problem? Thanks for any infor.
