Well just realized you have two other new post on this tractor...stay with one thread so all questions can be addressed.

If you have a helper, get a spray can of WD 40, not starting fluid. Remove air filter and while engine is being cranked over shoot short blast of WD 40 in the air intake. If it is fuel issue it will start and run with short burst of the WD 40. I have done this to purge air after changing fuel filter.

Do not know that tractor but would think it may have both manual and maybe electric fuel cut off. May have manual emergency cut off and the electric being the normal cut off. Regardless if there is manual be sure it has not been pulled by accident and also if pulled be sure it is returning to run position when pushed back in.

Are you even sure anyone made fel for your tractor? Have you had any success in your hunt? If you could find one to look at and get specs from you might find another brand that mounts could be modified to fit your tractor.

No doubt by now the sale is over and I can not say yes or no but if they have decent pictures think they have a lever at the f and r lever between if between the seats on that model for locking the diff.

In idea world you would have mower and blade wider then the outside of the tires. In idea world there are no briars or ruts either.

If you are running flail mower in light stuff you may be fine with wider mower but if heavy doubt it. Can you shift the mower to probably the right side where it will cover the full right tire? If so then you will know that side is fully cutting the tread width and the left side is not. Check on blade and see if you can do same with it.

Then run them centered on the tractor unless you need to cover the tread and slide the implement to the side. Some cutters and some blades are built to slide to the side (not all) and depending on the system on your tractor to stabilize the lift arms they may be able to offset the implement enough to cover the tread of one tire.

Options if you must run wider than desirable is to run lower gear for travel speed with cutter and maybe with blade but most likely on blade it will be lower the lift less or take lighter bite with the blade than you wanted to. Even if you have prefect match on hp to mower and blade those two happen as you will always run into bigger job than the idea world says will happen. If you are using a rear "blade" and not a box blade you can rotate the blade and that will make the blade narrower in the real cutting for the heavier work and then rotate to 90 degree to the tractor for the light work. If box blade not an option to rotate it.

If you are running too low air pressure that may help cause cracks but how deep are the cracks? Might be appearance only issue. I have tractor tires that are about 20 years old with maybe some very slight appearance cracks but not aware there are any of those.

Sorry no experience with any of those brands but you may wish to look this. I would think Titan was good tires if they are the same as Goodyear tires. My opinion.

Do not know your tractor but look for a dipstick on top or side of transmission, look for sight windows on back of possibly side of transmission or last say about 1/4 inch plugs to remove.

You have probably made a decision by now but if not: 128 hours per year is very low. Then I have a tractor is about 100 hours per year and another with over twice that.

Price, suggest you do a search on sales site on the tractor and see what others are selling for.

Did this happen all at once or slowly get worse? If all at once I would look at the linkage to be sure there is nothing bent or limb or other trash preventing it having full travel. If slowly would look at linkage adjustment which could also be the issue for all at once. If not something along that line and this is only a guess think it could be issue in the transmission. How many hours are on it and what kind of life has it had? A lot of forward and backward shifting or in and out of gear?

John I happened up TP about 14 years back or maybe longer and one reason I liked TP was the attitude of those here. I left a bigger forum due to the attitude many members there have of being smarter or better than, well me. Sadly over the years as in all areas of life lost some of those great ones that greeted me here for all the reasons of life. Hope you have it fixed by now but if you have a cut off valve to hold the load for transporting or to control how fast it lowers or falls it might be closed.

Just wondering does it do it all the time regardless if in 4 wheel drive or 2 wheel drive? I have a B2710 and think it does it a little in 4 wheel drive when on hard surfaces if memory is correct. I think it is the 4 wheel driving binding due to being on hard surface.

Art is the pro and I have the upmost respect for him and do agree with his concern for the tractor jumping into building or even pinning a person when helping hook or unhook from tractor.

I assume you know Long is no longer being sold in the USA, not sure now but think they went out of business. You will need to find an old Long dealer and how they have what you need in old stock. Have a friend who was a Long dealership and if they do not have it they normally will do all they can to help find a part.<br>

Only very basic thoughts here: did you replace the cylinder for this reason?
Where is the noise coming from?
I would not think air would cause loud noise, expect something is binding based upon what you are saying. Sure the hoses are connected to correct ports?
Have you by chance tried jacking the front end clear and trying to see if you can find any binding or if the steering no longer makes any noise?

I am no hyd expert but if making noise think it may be a relief valve more so than a cylinder.

Last thought, how is the fluid level for the steering?

Wonder if the color of the ball could have something to do with it? They say their do not see colors or can tell colors but the yellow of a tennis ball may be real easy to pickup and a light color may not.

If a shop's mechanic could not answer the compression question think I would find another mechanic. Not sure the model number of our Gator but it is I will say about 14 years old. Think it has decal like 4 by 2 or it and only decal to indicate any model.

But the transmission does sort of go clonk at lease sometimes when going into gear. The person who went over ours with me said it was a snow mobile transmission design and that is whey the engine must idle so low as if memory is correct you are engaging with no way to clutch. Hope have the reason correct.

Yes the starter spins mine very well. I do have to use the choke to crank when cold.

Do not use any gas with ethanol in it or it gums up the carb and has to be taken apart to be cleaned. Ran a good bit of sea form and other cleaners through ours with no success.

We had a JD dealer that was also a lawnmower dealer (no longer a JD dealership, they wanted them to go only green and their red products was the money, JD made a bad call there) and they have been great on the Kawasaki engine. Then only issue we have had is with gummed up carb and normal maintance.

I use a pto driven hyd pump for boom mower and I think all the boom mowers on tractors use pto driven hyd pump to drive them. For the gpm I would not try to use the tractors system to drive it but either find one or build a self contained system pto driven. That would include pump, reservoir with probably cooler and controls. Be sure you do not undersize the pump and to allow for it's wear. Not sure the percentage over the needed gpm you should use for that.
DO NOT MISS INSTALLING RELIEF VALVE...I blew a pump when changed control system and missed the old ones had the relief valve in it..

You can get pumps that mount directly to the pto or using a pto shaft.

Surplus hyd offers reasonable prices on much of what you will need.

Do not miss air intake system either. Diesels live and die on air.
If you want to by pass the fuel system remove air filter and with a helper cranking the engine spray shots of WD 40 into the air intake. If it is fuel it should crank. I have bleed a system doing this. If it cranks you can just keep giving it a shot until it does not try to stop between the shots.

Rats and wasp will build nest in the air intake system. Does not sound like a safety switch issue they normally prevent engine turning over. Do check the fuel in the tank to be sure diesel. You have had some very good points made.

Hey, does it have a manual pull to cut it off in emergency? No ides on your tractor but some tractors do.

How did the upgrade go?
If you don't mind my asking why such a large amount of amps needed? I added three work lights to my B2710 and changed out the headlights to larger bulbs and never had issue.
If I were adding lights now would do so with LED if at all possible.
