It will prevent how far up the cutter tilts. As the cutter tilts up it pushes the pto shaft towards or even into the rear end of the tractor. Will have same result as using too long a pto shaft.

Well it does on my implements. Now if there is a chain in the third arm linkage it probably would not. kt

In follow up I did use annual rye grass and it did very well. Love cutting grass when it is in the 30's. <br>
But so far this years it has been very rainy. We have had an inch plus almost every week and so far this month are about 11 1/2 inches. Boy is my mower having hard time keeping my zoysia cut! Looks good and have had the most blueberrys every and grapes are also looking good. Learned need to set up watering for the blue berries.kt

It has been recommend it in such as case try jumping it to run out battery and it's connections. If you have someone helping you turn on the lights and ask them how they do when you try starting it.

But with the work you were doing my guess is you pulled a safety switch wire loose or causes one to slip out of proper adjustment. kt

Davedig, no idea on your tractor but had a coworker to have his arm "TORN" off with a hyd steering system connected wrong. Rather than the steering valve operating as a control valve it was connected to operated as hyd motor and it did. He had his arm through the steering wheel as the engine was first fired on an assembly line and it fired up with full pressure turning that wheel at a high rpm. kt

vanfleet1, if you are referring to trimming around trees okay but I read your reply to mean trees themselves being trimmed. Do not think a trimmer on wheels would be reasonable to trim limbs on any type of trees I have ever seen. Well maybe weeping willows. LOL

One point to the turkey fryer, hyd oil will burn. Maybe easier than you think. To the point I use old hyd oil to burn stumps and such. I have no idea what that flash point is for it but if you have used any kerosene or diesel fuel to flush the system and it is in your hyd oil,,,well just be very careful.

Greg gave good advice. I try to wipe my quick connectors every time before I hook them just in case there is a speck of dirt to hold the valve open. No idea on a fel loader but you may find you need to release pressure on the hyd system to disconnect or connect those fittings. Depending you on your system that may mean cutting the tractor off and working the controls. kt

I think your tractor has wet brakes, meaning the brakes are running in the hyd oil system. If so them sticking I would think would be the linkage outside the rear end. Begin by checking that linkage for heavy rust or bends or some foreign material such as a piece of limb even.
Check the hyd oil level. One other thing, does your brakes had a lever to lock them engaged? Look and be sure it is not getting locked. Could be issue with that also.

But you either have stuck brakes or no breaks? That seems rather odd to me. What kind of transmission do you have, manual or hydro-stat? If hydro-stat often you don't use brakes as much and might be easier to miss them going bad or how they really are working. Does this happen with both brakes or just one side? Are the brakes locked so both work together? Normally a flip lever on the pedals. kt

I am not sure how much I like electronics on equipment that is suppose to work in harsh environment. They are nice and look pretty and when working can be very good but how well they hold up and when an issue it becomes an issue that can stop the machine with the mechanical gauges most anyone could find and fix and it did not shut it down either.

I have Volvo excavator having fought this fight for about four years now. kt

Is this air conditioning in your house or other building or on a piece of equipment? How do you know it is using "much more energy"?
What have you done to check or service it? If it has filters have those been changed?
Is the weather hotter than normal where you are?

Unless you know A/C systems and have the equipment the recommendation for professions is proper. A small screwup can increase repair cost.

Just thinking here, what is your expected customer with the tiller? Is the home gardener? If she/he does not hire you how are they tilling their ground? If they are doing so with a homeowner tiller from a box store they are being beat to death I think. You might can figure out how little it cost to hire you to save them hours of torture. Then use their tiller only for cultivation. You may do the math and use that for reason to hire you for the tough tilling.

You also may find work for the professional landscaper on putting in large flower beds. Some of these people here have their own machines but many rent them on needed basis.

treeman, thanks for the link. So we know a diesel can run away using it's own fuel or another source from within the machine such as this one or another outside source I think we were told of like propane in the air. Think I am going to review ways to kill one.

I know the one I was around was a brand new start up in an OEM plant. Totally cold engine, using it's own fuel but throttle control locked fully open. But with an outside source of fuel is it more an issue with a hot engine? Or will diesels run fine on all those fuel sources at anytime?

Did not notice this in the thread but what would be the difference of planting over leach lines and fields with manure spread over them? Not talking about possible damage to the lines from tractor on them, the chemical or health issues. kt
