We had a new system in my office installed last year. Think they installed a "S" piece of pipe near the drip pan but not sure. Here they install a trap outside in the line my impression to prevent insects from using the pipe for a home. Might be why they would near the unit also but you are right should not be producing any gases in that line.

When we built we install large capacity exhaust fans in our bathrooms. We also used galvanize pipe and with two no issues. But the main bathroom the pipe was run straight up for a few feet. All was fine till we started getting water drops out of our fan. Took a little bit of thinking to realize it was the hot moisture laden air hitting the cold attic air and it really turn the moisture into rain. So we learned in the winter time it make good energy sense to not run the exhaust fan for steam removal. It was not just moisture on the inside of the pipe but it also was on the outside of the uninsulated pipe and that was staining out ceiling.

Doesn't that tractor have a pull cut off for the fuel to stop the engine? If so is he certain to push it all the way in before trying to start it? Is it possible the linkage on the fuel cut off is loose or worn and not opening back up fully?

On manure spreader doubt this could be an issue but if the implement is such as some mowers that do allow some flip up to follow the ground you need to allow for that also.

There is an old hardware lumber store here this makes me think of.

There is much I don't feel comfortable to suggest due to the difference in winter temps and without seeing the situation.

I would install a vapor barrier. But that may be different there and termite people are a good source for that recommendation.

If you want stong floor use the 12 inches in 16 inche centters. At least two layers of playwood.

My thought is price out everthing and if pouring concret floor may be best option. You don't want a machine vibrating.

For me most of the times it is simple things like you found. Big things seem to come with a loud noise.

You also want to be comfortable with the dealership. Depending on where you are may find NH and Kubota at same dealer ship. If so those often give straight forward comparision. In my part of the world have never seen JD with anyother brand.

Just doing numbers in my part of the world, say 40 HP down tractors are by far Orange, then Green and very little Blue. Say 50 to 70 hp Green, then Blue and some Orange. Larger than say 80 of those three for certain Green, Blue and Orange.

Now part of that is the Orange just did not have the options and size JD and NH did and are playing years behind them in true farm size.

I can feel some air flow in that area when idleing. Not much and it was not as hot as would expect exhaust air to be. Engine was not hot just warm when I did check it.

Skip if you are out of places to dig come on down, have two trees to plant, others to dig up and take out, dirt to load and move, maybe you ought to plant potatos...should be good for digging them big ones!!!

It seems you need some son in laws and friends. I would run mine all the time for such if I wanted to and could afford to.

I am asking the pros here: if the tractor has FEL on it could he not use those connects to run a rear mounted hyd auger and have the ability to reverse the direction when it hits rocks or roots?

Auerbach recommendation to rent one first is a great recommendation. There have been a few items if I had would not be "storing" now. The few people I know who have bought a chipper seem to grow tired of them. I could use one maybe an hour a couple of times a year but the upkeep on a gas engine used like that is a bear.

If you don't mind used, think if you ran ad looking for a used chipper might find some deals. Also ask shops who repair small gas engines. Often people will take such in for repair and never pick it up. Got excellant professional trimmer that way.

I agree with the thoughts on was it full and maybe it was from the mounting holes or such.

Very much agree if leaking any real amount in area with hard dirt even a quart should showp at least as drops on the ground. Not if was running over grass or soft dirt might not. Know hyd cyl on my disk leaks but not enough (good think too) to show up in a field.

First I am no pro on John Deere and had thought this was smaller tractor but it seems to be larger (100 to 150 or so HP) tractor. Regardless of the model there is only two ways I have ever seen anti sway to be set up, either chains from the rear of the housing to the inside of each lift arms or chains or bars from below about the fenders back to the outside of the lift arms. It sounds like you have chains that run from below the fenders to the outside of the lift arms. If so you probably have blocks that have a stud with chain connected that screws into one end with left hand threads and on the other end with right hand threads so you can turn the block and tighter or loose the chain to limit the sway and even line up the hight to one side or the other or centered as most often is. Normally you leave some slack in there for seldom in the lift arc is there not a place where the chains or anti sway arms are tighter than in other parts of the arc.

Now for the gooseneck trailer you are pulling...be aware your lift will fly up with no warning if the trailer becomes light on the front end. This can be dangerous to people and equipment. The lift needs to be restricted so it can not happen. Chain down or such.

Can be next to impossible to test electrical circuit without good meter. Not familiar with the one you mention. My Amp-probe still good at 37 maybe 38 years young.

Bad cable connections and that can be a pain to find or battery too weak or bad solenoid or starter.

Jumping to with known strong batter will help know if batter or connections for it that works one of those is the issue. If jumping with known strong battery then issues is with solenoid or starter. Depending on design you can also by pass solenoid. BE VERY CAREFULLY in jumping and bypassing as you can be bypassing safety switches ended up starting tractor in gear which can kill..
