Not smart enough to know the difference between yams and sweet potatoes but are bake sweet potatoes scarce there? Really gotten popular here with many steak houses along with sweet potato fries. My wife normally leaves them whole for baking and will varying wrapped and buttered or left unwrapped and placed direct over the heart depending on whether we want to eat the pealing (wrapped and buttered) or to peel and eat unwrapped. For your diet ignore this, but use brown sugar and Cinnamon and butter in the hot baked sweet potato. How about sweet potato pudding? If you like cold milk a glass of that in one hand and the hot sweet potato in the other is a great snack. Sweet potato are a large crop here and they are sold heavy to northern bound tourist. We don't use the white sweet potato the yellow or reds are better to us.

Murf, if you travel on I-95 have a BBQ place recommend very heavy. It is on Hwy 38 in SC just a few miles south of the SC/NC border. The only times certain they are open is Friday and Saturday from about 4:30 to about 9:00 PM, maybe Thursday same time but that is it. They are almost totally dry rub with cooking over wood. Strong flavor but very good. Name is "Shulers". They on the east of I-95 as going to Myrtle Beach about two miles from I-95.

Now if you are coming this way and are going to stop there you let me know and I will make the drive and buy your meal (you and Mrs. Murf).

Something I like about real people, we can and do enjoy such simple things to such great levels. Anyone BBQ or smoke Spam?

I have a small excavator which was giving me a problem with the hyd not working (those which use solenoid to control the flow) when first cranked. One time it would and next not and so forth. Checked all I knew to and was of the opinion it had to be a control panel that is oh $500 or more. When happened to replace battery and what do you know that issue went away. It seems the old battery was strong enough (amps) to crank the engine but voltage was too low to engage a relay to operate the solenoids. Now the battery has some age on it and it is sitting for a month or more between uses that problem has come back. Wish had maintenance charger on it but no power there and with leaves on trees full shade. Might be workable with solar charger now the leaves are off, oh one more chore.

Skip have used those tongs not a ton but a fair amount. Nothing can fly any further than what ever is flexible so if hooked right to draw bar and only way I have used them rear of tractor is as far as they could flip. I have never had an issued with them but then am not one who would run 15 mph using them. If you are using decent speed and have the front end lifted find them coming loose very seldom if set right. Do think the short cable on a 3 pth will be much less able to lift the log clear to pull it creating more issues. Would not recommend using the tongs with a chain or cable but hooking direct to the draw bar to lift the log.

Now Murf is the logging pro and my Dad was and he is who I inherited the tongs from.

It would seem it is either catching air or fuel blockage is the issue. Does it have a primer pump on it, if so could it have an air leak in it? Again if it has one does it seem to pump up to have pressure? Could the jets be clogged by either contaminated fuel or trash? Have known of a guy who had water in his fuel just enough that running through the tank was an issue but down the carb was not. <br>

Oh, this from a guy who paid about $100 to have gas hedge trimmer fixed for same issue.

Can you use a suction pump to pull the amount you need using the dipstick tube? Just wondering how much oil does it take to have it an half inch high? That seems like a good bit.

Does it have hyd or mechanical linkage? If hyd check oil levels and if mechanical with pump check both linkage and oil levels.

A week ago was having new tires installed on my pickup. The dealer told me he has car tires repaired including the high price models. It only makes sense if they can repair a rim that runs the speed with the shock loads and balance auto rims does a tractor rim should be able if they person knows what they are doing. I would relax.

Mike, was not being smart as to knowing if drain plug. Have a Kubota model about same as your's and can not remember a drain plug in that area. It sounds a like a drain plug from your description. Lets see if we can get Art to help us, he is a Kubota dealer.

Greg, I have friends who had Long and then Farmtrac dealership. It is my understanding from them over the years that the Longs were built in Eastern Europe and thought the Farmtrac in India and was told they were using old Ford Tractor specs, not saying some of them were not Korean. Know at one time there was the Blue and then the Purple models. The name on the label might have been different. I really believe am correct on Long being Eastern European but might be off on Farmtrac. The Mahrandia think is based in India but believe they are not all made there and they may have LS or someone building some of theirs. Think same dealer told me at least one model Mahrandia was a LS and about $10,000 less as an LS.

It is a changing market place.

For the $10 difference in price would buy the 35 hp rated shaft. The 16 might be sufficient on this blower but the next item you would probably then have to buy the higher rated shaft.

Do check for proper length before you buy and certain don't install too long or too short a shaft for too long WILL damage something and too short can also.

You need a four wheel drive tractor with a cab large enough for the family. Slush should not be much of issue then. You would need a business where the tractor is a business expense to write off those costs. Might want to ask about a European model built for higher road speeds :)
