Build you a mount for a 25 gallon sprayer tank. Fill with water when needed or drain when need to remove. Then you have sprayer handy. Just don't push with it or leave water in there for your winter. :)
Do agree the weights make a difference. However another option that I have used, wrap chain on there. I have the three weights on mine but have used a chain for just a little more help working on slope.
Of course you could make a system where there concrete weight slips over the mount and just build a stand to set it on and use hyd jack to lift and lower for removal and installation. At same time you do have a excavator, now I see busted hood on the tractor if not careful.

Skip. walked to my small Kubota to be sure but skip your thought and move to the links that run from the lift arms to the 3pth arms. Think you will find there are two sets of holes there, one used now and the other open maybe an couple of inches apart.

First I will admit getting confused here as to which set does lower the arms and which raise the 3 pth arms but first try switch the hole the links are using. Really the first thing is, does your box blade had more than one option for the height of the lift arm pins? If so raise them so the box will sit lower when down. Of course there is no adjustment preventing the full lowering of the lift such as stop is not fully down for the lift lever, you have the control under the seat open, third arm is not too short?

But if you have the weight of the blade on the 3pth it has to lift up when wheels run over high spot by design. It needs to be as mentioned floating or on wheels or such as Auerbach has mentioned.

Kirby, congratulations on the learning and finding process.

First those blades don't carry a sharp edge. Look at the new ones and then compare to your current before you buy.

It is good to use an oil to loosen the rust before you try to change the blades and a large impact wrench is nice also.

I think that tractor's design is subject to rain in the transmission down the shifter levers. Try checking the fluid and see if there is not water in it. Then you are in Texas, know part of the state has been long time without rain.

When has the fluid and filter been changed? Not sure but think the brakes run in the same fluid. No idea on the clutch.

Dennis, yes the foolishness of our federal government is hurting us, our children and at least our grandchildren.
When you have a ruling class or group that makes laws and exempts itself that in itself is enough to support fraud.

As to the amount of fraud and waste in the government, no doubt some are more efficient than others but why do we need a half dozen agencies doing the same job or suppose to be?

Our local school district has been for years deciding the buildings were outdated and building new ones to only find them undersize as soon as open. They let the outdated buildings site for 5 to 10 years for some reason before they decide how to dispose of them. Often selling them for nothing and all of sudden the new buy has nice apartments or commercial business in their NEW updated property.

I am thankful the S&P took the action they did. Maybe just maybe that will help wake up the voters. Yet for about 50% who pay no taxes what does it mean to them? They don't understand it means more of them will loose jobs and even more so find themselves with little prospect of employment as there is none.

I have no idea how to tell if rotors have gotten so hot they need to be replaced but depending on type of pads used they could be glazed over and need replacing.

In all my years (about 40) of brake jobs many I also did and last about three hired (fat boy does not bend well) never had a problem until last job. First time every had a pad the glue failed to hold.

Dennis as I typed this a thought came to my mind, if they used the wrong type of pads that is enough to cause it to need high pressure as they may not do as good of job of stopping as the proper pads. Check and see what is recommended and see the type they used.

Dennis I have a B2710. When it is run hard for a while and in our heat gets hot, it will do I think the same thing you are experiencing. Let it cool down with lighter cutting (think using cutter is only time I have noticed it but that is only thing it is used for at full throttle long enough to get really hot) and it levels out. Right off not sure if it is doing it a full throttle or when it is lowered such as letting it cool. Don't have it to happen so often it bothers me but am certain it is only when the tractor is really hot.

SC Phil, glad you are here. As to the 70 pound chainsaw, it is the operator that needs to be in Guinness Book of records! Many years ago my Dad had a I think "Maul" brand that was a two man saw. Best I can remember the saw was about physical size of a 5 hp lawnmower engine. Had long bar with handle on the tip end and an oilier there also. But then there were some monster cypress trees being cut. Think the bow blade would cut near 3 feet. Don't think it had second handle.

I will join with Frank and Dennis, glad to see you.

I read you will be pulling 6 ton load and have used about same load with two wheel pull spreader with tractor as Frank recommended with no problem. Fields were dry and are flat. Will tell you if I still had full size four wheel drive pickup could have pulled it with it in low range. All my thoughts are this is a pull spreader and needs no hyd or pto power from the tractor. All power it needs from spreading is supplied through the drive train.

Don't know the JD but my experience is you will only get a click if a safety switch is open. Hare you located the loud clunk sound? Is it coming from the starter/solenoid?

I suspect you either have bad contacts in solenoid or poor connections on battery cables either on battery or tractor end. Have you tried jumping it? Just because your cable ends are tight does not mean they have a good clean connection.

Here is one chart. Do you know how to tell the grade of the bolt? Look at the dashes on it and add 2 to that number to get the grade. A wild guess is you are using grade 5 there, but find out what they are suppose to be. If metric, don't remember how to tell.

Well that would seem to support inject issue. I do not know how to test which injector. If you have an infrared thermometer you probably would find temp difference on that cylinder.

Sorry for the work situation but agree with Frank, a running tractor is a tractor. One that is not is parts or scrap metal. Check the fluids and use jumper cables and see what it does. If it is sold they will need to haul it and if they can drive it on trailer is one thing, if they must winch it on different issue.

I have never sold on ebay but have bought some things, you might wish to list it there for pickup only. Not throwing off on craiglist, have bought off of it also. Even if rough post picture if possible.

If you will look there is a lot of such posting on Gators here with details toward both card and eletrial. If I thought it was dirty card would try a good cleaner like Sea Foam first. Have used such a time or two with ours.

Skip, I agree on your thoughts about that hour plus drive, boring and yes the wear. I also agree with Murf think you will be fine if that is all you will be doing. Also think you will probably be fine with single axle for that IF rated capacity is sufficient and you pay attention to balancing the load. Have another thought but have some concerns there and that is use your tractor to pull the trailer. Don't know it is heavy enough to be as safe as the pickup is. Read the manual on it also but if you do use fixed draw bar, only safe way to pull a trailer.

BTW, how is your thumb working for you?

Not saying it had to be that but the pto shaft, have you check to see if it slides freely together? Have you checked to be sure it is short enough not to jam as you lift the mower and lower it? At same time the housing may have been cracked a while and that use was enough to have shook it loose or to have finally cracked it. Of there may have been a problem with your casting or something that totally not thought of. By chance have you loaned your tractor to anyone to do such as rough mowing? When my pto shaft got jammed it did not show up for a couple of uses and took a while for me to think back to what was wrong and trace back what it had been used that could have caused it.
