Sometimes when we know what is wrong it no longer worries us. You could just make a habit of filling tank when finished which helps prevent moisture built up in the fuel also.

Well lets back up to basics. What kind of rpms are you running? Should be near full throttle. Are you sure it is really in "Low" range or gear? With full throttle and no load does move about as fast as a turtle? How high of rpms does your tach show the engine running at full throttle?

How about other than in low range, such as driving on the road, does it loose power there in high range?

Don't know your tractor but how about safety switches for clutch or gear or pto does your tractor have those? Are you sure they are set properly (oh we all miss one some time or more often) or have you tried working each lever while holding key just in case one has moved? Also look for loose wire from safety switches.

As to your question on relay..no idea on the system on your tracot. Yanmar experts will jump in.

No simple idea from me other than to test each part of the glow plug system beginning with the glow plugs themself. With helper check to be sure power is going to glow plug when engaged. Then if it is check using amp meter (hope you have one or access to one) to see if there is a load being pulled by each glow plug.

Don't think this has been addressed but should be in manual.
If four wheel drive do not use in four wheel drive mode on solid hard surface as it might damage the drive system. Use only on loose surface.
If it has rear wheel or all four wheel lock..use very carefully and do not try to use single rear brake when engaged or turn sharply. Do not engage either while wheels are spinning.

One other thing, especially when using a mower use good safety glasses and ear protection. Also with mower of any kind run the engine at the rpm needed to have the pto speed the mower needs (normally 540 rpm for the pto).

Realize you have no plans for animals but consider the fence past just keeping people out if there is possibility you will end up with animals what type of fence would then be needed. <br>

In the mean time you may wish to place some no trespassing signs. Depending on the trash being dumped the locals may have interest in finding who dumped it and having them clean it up.

If I read this fully you did replace the oil pressure sending unit. No idea if this is possible but could the access to the unit be restricted in the block? If the old one was bad it is also possible the new sending unit is. You say the pressure is truly fine so have to be testing with a gauge to know that. The sending unit is an electric switch, my guess a ground that is open if pressure is low. That should be easy to figure out as if correct there is only one wire to it and it grounds through the sending unit of there two wires on it and one of those grounds to the tractor. If so doubt you will short out anything as you can only complete a circuit and not short circuit it. Disconnect the wire and see if the light goes off. If it does then my thought is there is a worn spot in the wire to the sending unit most likely...if the sending you is good.

Have you tested the sending unit to see if it is opening (If a ground unit) when the pressure is up? If you have not do you have any kind of electrical tester even one of the little lights? The disconnect the wire (if a short in the circuit you must disconnect the wire) and test the unit it to see if it is opening when the oil pressure is up.

Again, all this assumes your oil pressure is good.

How about the gas part of the engine? Could it not be getting fuel sufficiently and it us using what is there and then stops. While you are working on it enough for a short run seeps in and same thing again? Or could you have a bad coil wire?

Bought a new Ford pickup many years ago. Brand new it did about like this. They replaced this and that. Turned out to be a clogged fuel filter.

Does it not do anything or will turn over and not start? Did you see it started before you bought it and it was loaded?
If nothing have you checked for loose battery cables or even tried jumping it?

I grew up before seat belts and any other protection device. Have grown to like them.

Joel sorry about your friend. As Jeff pointed out it is so easy to just a simple act have serious results. It does pay to disable a machine before mounted or dismounting it. Have heard so many terrible deaths of people leaving something running as they left a seat only to have a loose fitting shirt be used to pull them to their death and a horrible one at that.

It sure seems there is more questions on JD Gator than anything else for a good while. Is it cause there are so many or JD has issues or the help of such as Gatorraider here who is great.

My thought, they loosen a cover and failed to tighten it back or it was not seated when they did tighten it. Or they happened to leave a wrench laying on frame.

If I have ever had any gas engine that did not like to sit idle as much as the one in our Gator sure don't remember it. I have learned to use it year round, use Sta-bil in gas, and drive it as often and wide open as I can. What worked to clear ours up was carb cleaner in gas, running as full throttle as it would with left hand working choke. Ours did clear up.

As has been mentioned by a few often tapping with vibrate it enough for it to break loose. Some wheels are made for wheel pullers to be used on them. There are two types, those made to bolt through into the wheel and those with jaws that reach under the wheel's hub. Often tightening them and then tapping with hammer will do the trick.

It was the 200 series MF transmission I used but the 100 series and the shifter may not be the same. But on the 100 you could just every so much lift or pull up the shifter lever while shifting and get it out of the slot set it was suppose to be in. Could take of the top plate and all looked fine but would not shift then never tried a pry bar. The best I remember (near 40 years now) the slots were in their true neutral position there was one milled slot for lack of better description. Of course with tractor off, try moving the linkage by hand and see if you don't find it moves in such manner you can tell it is truly free. Then reinstall shifter lever and no up pressure when shifting.

RC, my guess is the splitter does not have a valve on it and is set up for you to use the one on the tractor. To me there is advantage of this as it moves you away from the action just in case something happens. There is also a disadvantage in this as it moves you away from the log causing a good bit of walking.

The biggest arguements against splitter on the 3 pth I can remember is prevents pulling trailer also, tractor is expensive for use as EW pointed out. But it allows you ability to move the splitter to the wood I think best of any thing.

As to loaning out tools...with some people there is no pleasant way. Over the years I have been very blessed in this for have loaned a lot and have borrowed a lot.

Frank, since the guy has a machine your bucket fits on then his will fit on yours, right? So when he ask to borrow your's (if you get it back) then why not say, by the way I sure could use your bigger bucket. Just bring it and you can borrow my little one.

Of course the best method if they are not someone who will care for and treat you the same...I will be glad to help with that. I will get with you on when I can. Again borrowing and loaning has worked well for me. Other than the repairs on my brothers equipment I end up making! LOL

So when you manually work the float it gives what looks to be correct reading. That would seem to fit with for some reason the float is not really floating due to it's weight or physically restricted. Or could it not be the right sending unit and the range if off? Trying measuring the depth of the tank and then see if that matches the movement of the sending unit.

Your first message does not say but assume the old one did work at one time and you compared the new one to it for movement and size.

Up, for us the beavers have not bothered our overflow pipe but dammed the swamp it flows into right behind our pond. Guess our dam is not as nice as the ones they make! Lol
