JP, welcome to TP. No idea if you will get feedback as that was posted in 2004.

Not saying turf tires are not better for a lawn but I have used ag tires on lawn and had little issue with mine. Be sure you are not in four wheel drive, don't turn very sharp and if lawn is wet stay off. As to hauling wood were you pulling a trailer for that would also cause more need for the tires to dig in compared to driving over it with mower might.

Have you tested the battery in any manner, even tried jumping it? If the battery is not clamped down securely have no doubt it could have moved enough to damage a cable end, connection or the battery. By chance was it underwater?

In all my time (a few years) have never been told a person who does not own a certain brand product can not comment on it. It might surprise some of you there is two ways I know of to veiw this site and the one I does not show what forum it is in (until open). It might be the person who does not OWN one may know more about the issue than a dozen oweners of the product do. So throw out mechanics, engineers and such for info. Then they may be like me and admit up front they did not have any experience with the product but was expression THEIR opinion.

I stated no doubt there are those who got good service from their Nortac. What is the nerve here? I don't get it. This I know it does not offend me for owner of another brand to compare to mine. To me one way to learn. Did not offend me to be told a Nortac is better than a Kubota.

As to a Nortac holding up better than a Kubota take you fully at your world. Never mind the difference in owner also normally reflects differences in service, work load and other factors.

It has been a few years back but first time I asked about tractor with turf tires I was not in area that handled compact tractors, true ag country. That salesman told me not to buy with turf tires for he was not aware of a source to buy replacement tires. We were looking about a 40 some hp Case. Just wondering if that would be true today if it were then?

Link did not tell me but my thought is buying used from all comments you made (oil sample). If so look at the sites for used machines such as equipmenttraderonline.com
You might want to check out Agco's own site for machines. NOt sure on theirs but most have the ability to find a certain model from your location out and give you dealer's info. Of course price on line is only that.

Is it loose or just out of adjustment? Have you tried using a good electronic contact cleaner on the switch? About to believe all tractors or outside equipment needs a can in the tool box.

This applies to more than a brand or just Chinese tractors but it is a shame to buy a product and there is no support for it with parts. Had it to happen 25 years back with a RCA CB and knew then that company had problems. Not sure that major brand is even owned by anyone now. If so certainly just a label (my guess).

There are many variables depending on your needs and options. Funny, this is about the reason that got me here years ago.

If you have the gently sloping ponds you see on magazines covers, you have many options at low cost. If you have the type of ponds in my part of the world options are limited and cost of equipment is high.
How are they being cut now? Are they being cut now? If not are there trees to clear or work around?
Are the pond banks gently sloping or drop off rather steep angle?
Is the use of herbicides possible?
Are you able to operate tractor safely around the pond? Such as room and stable solid ground?

We have for about last two years worked with about a 50 year old pond to get it easy to cut around and nearly there. Still will cut it with an offset or some call a side mount (talking new $7,000 to the sky price wise) as we have those and they get equipment and ME away from the water. I only try to cut the very water line once at most twice per year but there were some solid trees there which means cutter must handle the spouts each time. That is very slow and dangerous work. You will have the cutter blades toward you. Got the idea! If your set up is about like mine cost wise hiring it done would have been lowest cost option as many farmers here run by our pond ever year with those cutters.

Give us as much info as you can and you will get better info. If a picture is possible of the pond(s) that would help. You mentioned 3 pth equipment, what size tractor hp and weight wise are you talking about? When you throw a 500 cutter out there a few feet you must have something heavy to hold it.

I don't have a simple answer for you but lady who works with me has an older Camry than yours and about same thing happened with hers. Turned out there was two fuse blocks in her car, one very easy to find under the hood and the other under the dash behind a coin drawer or such. My wife also has an older Avalon than your Camry and sitting at my desk think it has two fuse panels also, again one under dash and under hood. The best I can remember those in dash panels are to the left of the steering wheel.

Wonder if one panel is the for electrical on all models and the other depends on options for the county it is going to.

Not sure on a JD but look for the dipstick near the seat area. Either right in front of it or even under the seat. As to the fill my guess it is on the rear of the transmission with transmission and lift using same fluid and thus same dip stick and fill point.

Quick recommendation, if you are just getting this tractor and don't know when fluids and filters were changed it is smart to do so to have reference point from here on. I would change ALL filter.

What is the problem you suspect? System not charging? Before I pulled it would test all connections and battery first. Do you have any way to test voltage yourself? <br>

Went back and found your other thread. Have your checked your battery connections yet? Not to see if just tight have you pulled and cleaned them. On both ends of both cables? Also same on wires on the alternator again both ends. Get some terminal cleaner for contacts as sometimes terminals are hard to tell there is corrosion to prevent solid connections.

The WE 40 works well. Have a friend who does something else and that is wet rag with gas and lay over the intake. Not a big fan of that but it is more of a one person operation.

A few months back change filter on my B Kubota and it did not start back. Don't remember trying WD 40 for don't think I have anyone handy to help. Not fast enough by myself, have tried.

goodolriver, yes it can be rather humorous what we are not told yet wonder if it is because we don't want to admit our ignorance or we working with sales person who is? Last week heard extreme opposite. Was in a big store at the ammo and a lady with list in hand was standing in front of ammo and the clerk ask could he help. Great deal. By the time he got through telling her what the difference in the bullet weight and size of shot in shotgun shells and the the grams of powder she just roll on, having all kind of info rolling around in her head as she pushed her empty buggy.

Abbaschild, think you are using a foot clutch where as auerbach is using electric pto clutch. Think every body here would agree with your method on the foot clutch use. May be some variance on how low to drop the rpms and some of that does vary with the piece of equipment and the tractor itself.

shiprek, if this will be negotiations where they will meet you and you don't want to blow it by offering too low, will offer one suggestion. If you have a friend who is willing to help out have them go with you. But you be the ride along friend. You can point out thoughts about the tractor to your friend and such but not be the buying. Let him offer low price and if he makes the seller made that is different than if you do. You could even speak up and say you know Joe if you don't want it at so and so price I might be interested.

The other way is to say to them politely don't know, based upon what I my feelings right now hate to even make an offer. Just feel it might be so low it would insult you.

Also don't miss when they tell you the price your again polite reply is something along the line of no doubt it is a nice machine but sadly $3,00 or what ever outside of my limit. Had to ask for it is a nice or good looking machine. Really do like it.

Then you do something my wife says is not polite...shut up. The quite weighs heavy. It can be your friend. But if you keep on talking you will not get that price. You have to be willing to walk away if not, well. Then don't be dumb,if worth the price and more and especially if buying from a dealership who will service it. You might find the support worth more than any price give.

No expert on this as Joel is but still remember from about 40 years back being surprised the number off the bearing is all they want. Did not care what it came from. See parts are parts! But quality does vary. I have never taken a bearing to any major parts store and them not be able to help me. Now never taken a disk axle one to them.
