Frank I think it safe to say we all believe the slower you are traveling in an accident the better your chance is. I know when someone pulls out in front of me I hit the brakes and not the gas. (not being smart there)

If the mower is not running, can you hear the clutch locking when you operate the switch?

If not are you sure the safety switches are all working, you have all levers in correct positions and brake released? (I am assuming your mower has all of those.) Have you check fuses? EW may be correct on battery being to weak to operate the clutch.

Frank, I am not much of a boil Irish potato fan but if you will dig them (using hand is normally best) when smaller than golf ball they are good. Some people like them even smaller with garden peas and dumplings. Hungry yet? Don't forget a little fat back or bacon in there.

The four who have chimed in here probably have me beet greatly on box blade experience but in the majority of using box blade some forward and much back-wards did not like it as much as a 3 pth blade due to both blades being fixed and the BB weight riding on both edges making it cut slower to begin than a single edge rear blade for cutting dirt. Recently I did some work for a friend using his tractor and box blade and his had a hinged rear blade which flips up when pulling forward and drops down and engages when pushing back-wards. No doubt that adds to the cost but I sure did enjoy using that blade.

I do know from using both gasoline and diesel fuel to begin fires of debris be sure you use diesel for the fumes of the gas will creep as Jeff has pointed out and you could be surrounded by them and that is not a Good place to be when you strike a spark.

Just wondering here, how would a post or such where we rate dealerships would be? It would need to be thought out. I could see some value there for those who have need for hard to find parts even on equipment or who are as Jeff asked brand dealership who has lower price parts. I am thinking of an on going source of info.

Jeff, I knew you were envious of his cab. Made you think of the curtains you wanted when on the Gulf Coast didn't it? :) Are you loaded heading back there for clean up if the oil hits?

GrayFox, hard to believe it can be cold enough anywhere to stop termites or fire ants. I prefer the termites.

Diving in on something no expert but some thoughts.
It seems your fuel solenoid is not working. Could be stuck or possible that was the burning smell. At same time it possibly could be turning the tractor off sends current to the solenoid to close it and there be a relay that does so for a few seconds. I would begin by checking for current to the relay with tractor off, switch on and then watching the current when switched off. If no current when off and then when on and then no current again when switched off probably the solenoid. If the current is not stopping and starting with change of tractor being off or on issue is further up line. Just track it back wards.

Now maybe the pros on this will chime in.

I don't know the weight of that grator or even the one we have..but you have to know the capacity of your trailer, not just number of axles.

I think it varies some with size of tractor, area and even dealership and of course condition of the tractor itself. Based upon what I have seen over the years the major brands do hold their value well. Of course some of that is due to the increasing price of new machines.

Adding to Ken's thoughts if you contract them and tell you want to see it as it is only so many miles away it probably has been moved and is ready to be shipped by a certain freight company and is not where it can be seen, sadly.

But there are some deals out there..so if you can be careful you may wish to check on it. This realy sounds like a scam.
