GIve a Ford or rather New Holland dealership a call and ask them on the electric 3 pth control.

It is possible you have a control valve in the hyd system that is closed to your 3pth and only sending fluid to the fel. Again not a lot of hyd lines on a small tractor so should be easy to trace. Look for a knob under the seat area that might also control the oil flow to the lift.

Ken first you may find an adapter if you find a parts person who is willing to "look" at their stock for you.
Second it has been a while and my memory may be forgetting some little holes and such but some were very simple. If you could get a flat piece of metal about 3/8 thick you could use a hole saw to drill out the center for the air/fuel and then drill for the studs on the manifold and then drill and tap for bolts to bolt the new carb with. It really should not be hard. If you have any kind of drill press it should be right easy and the tapping would be hand so again easy.

You do know you can buy gasket material in sheets of different thickness and place it on top of what ever you need a gasket for and using a small ball peen hammer can either mark or even cut the gasket by tapping along the edges.

Remember; "you can do it and we can help". You do have Home Depot near by right?

Greg, very quick to say you know these tractors and I know very very little about them but a couple of points if I may:<br>

In his last post he changed the mower to 5 foot and the box blade is 5 foot and then a 7 foot blade for snow.<br>

In reading his comments in blinkvisual's last post it made me think he was selling someone else's tractor just the way parts were worded but could be totally wrong there. Just wondering, have you seen the tractor? The price and tractor package are in the parameters of some scams out there on eBay and Craigslist. Of those I have seen all have been Kubota, JD or New Holland. If it is a scam when you get to the point of ready to see it, it will move on you to another city. Will be boxed and ready to ship but you can not pick it up.<br>

If you can find out the honest why he is wanting to sell might tell you a lot. Did he move from where he needed it to town or such. Or did he buy a bigger outfit?

My wife's Toyot has mileage computer and it is very interesting to see what changes it. She picked up her sister one day and after driving I think less than a mile it dropped her mileage by a good bit. They both laughed at that for a while.

So Ken, is it possible there is an issue with the engine it self that could be causing the drop in mileage? Are you 100% sure the overdrive (auto correct) is working?

Other than your belly mower what else do you use the tractor for? Do ever run it as hard as mowing for as long and does it work ok then?

Has it being doing this long? Did it ever run with out this problem while useing the mower? Just a thought, is the deck height being changed at the time the binding is happening? Are you sure the pto shaft is not too long and binding? If the pto shaft joints are clicking sounds like an issue there due to either wear or lack of grease or both.

This is not something to depend on but I believe have seen a posting along this line and it was due to rims with wrong size holes for the studs or such. Then the holes were bigger than should have been or lug nuts were smaller diameter than they were suppose to be.

It is hard to believe an engine could get so hot in 8 minutes.

Adding to what has been suggested two other simple items, air filter and/or radiator needs cleaning out (the fins not the inside). I have a M6800 Kubota and have seen each of those two cause mine to run hot when they really needed cleaning. The best way to me to clean the radiator is one Murf here suggested and that is a leaf blower. Taken the air filter (mine has two) and just give it a good shake, if dirty you will know it real easy.

I have been told the easiest way to test for clogged radiator is to use one of hand held remote point and check thermometer. You will be checking for cool spots in the radiator which means that area is clogged so coolant is not there.

It is an electric heater that may replaced a freeze plug or inserted in the lower radiator hose or magnetic one to stick on to the block or oil pan or such to help warm the engine for starting in cold weather. They often heat the coolant or engine oil.

That is good. I will tell you many here will ask for pictures, espeically of projects you work on or build for your tractor.

When you buy attachments...buy quality. A very very simple way to compare two brands is weight. Normally more weight means heavier built and stronger. Not always true it is better but often a good indication. If you go to buy used check on replacement parts availability.

Be sure to read the manual, they contain a lot of good info. I will make one suggestion on that tractor, be careful setting the park brake it is easy to forget it.

You would do well to get manual if possible for the tractor and then read it. I have had mine tractors for 10 and about 7 years and still pull them out from time to time and am amazed and little things that had slipped my mine.

Ronald in a sense that is right funny. Just think how happy you will make the brush that you now have to cut. You sure should have a smoother machine now. Glad it was so simple. Did they give you the correct blades or did you have to buy them?<br>

Hardwood, we have just enough sand here that you don't have to sharpen especially the cheaper blades. You just replace them as they are will wear very thin.

With the economy there are some good deals popping up. Watch craigslist. If you don't know tractors see if you can find a tractor mechanic who will look at it for you. Do know there are crooks on ebay and craiglist offering real nice tractors about this size much newer with Front end loader (FEL) for normally about $5,000. You will never be able to put your hand on the tractor before you send money as they will play it has been moved for shipping or storage.

You might do well to visit dealerships as they might have offers that also suit you.
