I don't want to give the impression you can not make money with 20 acres or so for you can. But you must with 20 or 2 thousand acres be raising what you will make money for your operation. For 20 acres that probably would be produce and in that I mean melons or pumpkins and even some small animals. Have a neighbor who does well raising minature donkeys. There is also plants and such.

Dennis, there is one that does I know. No idea on any others. On that site you have to delete it yourself. That is true of ones you sent or received.

Not sure I am a fan of their set up on saving the private emails. Had I not been asked to resend a PM would have had no reason to ask. Do not take this question to mean there is a need to change the setup.

Not sure a compression test does any testing for oil pressure but have been wrong before.

You are able to get the engine warm when cold so it must have oil pressure to run that long, right?
Have you had oil pressure sending unit tested or replaced? How about guage? You are using correct engine oil? So could the bypass valve be open while cold and then closing when it warms?

A few years back my wife had a Bronco with a V 6. One cold night she said it was making noise. I had her crank it up and boy was it, rattled right bad. She did not realize what the oil guage was for or meant. OK she learned that night. Hauled it to garage the next day. They took oil pan off and found nothing wrong and oil pump working fine. They said there must have been something in there preventing the bypass from closing to keep the oil pressure up. No damage and it "fixed" itself.

It will be Thursday before able to crawl back under the machine "with" flashlight to see head to check Ken's suggestions. Then will see if any way to get impact wrench on it. Might can with very short socket and then long extension for smaller diameter than deep well socket. Fear is not damage to drain plug, but to threads in oil pan. Have even thought about ok, if able to get impact wrench on it and it does not loosen real quick then use the drain plug as port to drill and tap for new drain plug. It would be thicker than the oil pan would be.

Have you tried their web site? Also have you looked for a dipstick anywhere on the transmission? IF it has one could even be under seat. As to where to add, there will be a large plug normally near the top of the transmission. They could have a site window or even a small plug to remove to check fluid level but probably a dip stick.

I second you need a manual for the next question will be and what kind of hyd oil does it use.

Jean, I don't know a tractor mechanic in Murrells Inlet area. I use Rabon's on Hwy 501 in Aynor. They work on most brands. Matter of fact the only time have need a tractor worked on they hauled it also but I am only 7 miles from them.

Just wondering, did you check on the John Deere out side of Conway on Hwy 905? The size tractor you are talking about would not cost much to have it hauled.

Keep an eye on Craigslist. I have seen a few small to mid size for sale with construction down.

As to the PM, I don't know if possible to resend. Think it was details on the dealerships in this area.

You may be 100 and 10% correct on all of this...but I find it hard to believe you can not drop or wrap a heavy rag around one fitting that you have loosen and work the cyl so that is the return side and push the cyl rod fully that direction and tighten that fitting and do the same on the other side. It might take a time or two but if air is really still captured in the cyl as you believe it is. Again not saying you are not correct on what you are saying. But if that is totally true then how did the manf get the air out? I worked for a major heavy equipment manf for a few years and those machines had total hyd steer and we never bleed any cylinder and we build a few thousand. I inspected many of those machines and test loaded a few.

Ok...less assume you are 100% correct, can you remove the cyl with hoses still connected? If so then roll the cyl over and then the fittings are no longer the "lowest" point but the top position.

As to the brakes bleeding...even in my older balding head am right sure the Fords we had the valve was in the center of the wheel cylinder. Those were not disk brakes. Those were the days US built heavy autos with steel dashes! No need for seat belts, the dash would stop you. Leaded gas and only two grades. LOL Sad to say I remember when gas cost less per gallon than the tax is on it today.

They do have the offer of free FEL or low interest but it did finally come back up for me. But found it on their web site also. Has previous winners there and their story that won. DID NOT READ any.

So it must be real...Hey you guys in the snow country....a white tractor moving snow would look good!

Nothing to do with your issue but notice where you are. Visted there once two years back and nice area. Sad reason had friend who was terminal in hospital there. His daughter her family live near there.

I would not go to like Tractor Supply, Lowes or Home Depot on this but go to local farm supply store and ask them what they suggest. Being local they will be able to tell you what will work best and when to plant. They also should be lower price than the building supply stores.

As to specs do both have the same lift capacity in pounds and amount of lift? Does one use chains to keep lift arms centered and the other sliding stablizers if so the sliding stablizers is normally more desirable.

Have you drove both? Does one fit you better than the other or the layout of controls?

But if all is close ask what brand engine is in each. Over time you will need parts and to me a company who uses their own engine will keep parts in stock longer. But realize that is not always true. To me you have picked two good brands.

wizbang, how do you plan to pull those cedar stumps? Been about 27 years since I walked over some Texas land with the cedars but "pulling" with drawbar pull only it takes a lot of weight and hp to pull stumps. More than many think unless dug first.

You are very aware I don't know this mower but let us look at basics.

Has it always run hot? Even when brand new? If so that speaks to either a design problem or user. If design issue then you had to find the design problem and fix it. If user end then need to figure that out and change it.

So first on design end, is it possible to set it beside one of those dirty machines that never run hot so you can can visibly compare each part to see if you find a difference. Could be smaller diameter hose on yours or such. See if same brand and model of pumps and such. Look for small difference.

As to user, not trying to say your dad or you are not using it properly. Could you be cutting with faster ground speed or lower setting or thicker grass or using a different blade than the other guy does?

In rereading your post it seems the transmission is the only part that has not been repaired or replaced.

Some of the comments would make we walk around the product if buying. No, I don't think I know either of you and as I posted earlier not a tractor tiller user or owner.

Jeff, you may be right about that nut, but my son in law seems ok and he is the main one running it this summer. Wait he does work for the guber-mint but not the feds rather the locals.

As to humidity, which of course is water which of course does not conduct electricty but when such as dirt is added to the water it does a great job of conducting electricty and so does adding salt to it.

Jeff, the old drump truck I told about problems with sounds like same drive train as this one. I never had it above about 45 mph and it ran noisy but the engine sure did not seem to be reving like you think this one is.

But, putting larger wheel on it should lower the rpm ratio so why do you think it is rev so high? And if so what can you do to lower the rpms?
