I did go to the web site to look at the product and the image on it was fuzzy so mostly going by the verbage.

Will this do the work you want in a paddlock? If you have small hoof animals I might be concerned about their catching the hooves in the trench. But it is suppose to close the trench so that may not be an issue.

Will your tractor with 20 hp pull it? A lot will depend on the tires and traction. Also be sure your JD will lift it. If you have 2 wheel drive with turf tires would say no way. If you have 4 wheel drive possibly. I have a 27 hp Kubota and it will pull about same plow about 20 inches deep. Amazed me. Some of this will depend on how hard the soil is. I have also had all a 68 hp Kubota wanted to pull a 2 shank plow with one running in previous cut trench. That soil will compact to about like a rock that is hard to crack. If not doing a lot you can always pull the plow as deep as it will and then come right back deeper until you get the full depth. You also may not need to plow as deep as it can either. You would do well to dig down to find where the compaction layer is in your soil and you will find little benefit of plowing much deeper. If you will keep it plowed after the first hard time it will be much easier. Depending on the soil type plowing with trenches near each other can make it easier. You really are cracking rock like soil so the first trench in an area is often the hardest to pull.

Now saying all that, this looks costly with the coulter up front and the packing wheel in the rear. Is is possible to rent one or borrow such for a test? I would guess it would be about $350 or so in US dollars. Here you often see much simipler plows see link below. Not recommending that brand but it shows a suggested US price of $200.

Frank, getting rid of dirt is not as hard as getting it somewhere else but that is how they did some ditches here years ago. Never saw one while being done but they were the ones with no piles around them. Easy to tell.

Here, they prefer excavators for telling them down but then they normally are only one or two stories tall. Now if ole Jeffrey were to tell it, they would be oh 46 to 64 stories tall and he pulled it over with his NH and loaded with his ND skidsteer.

Sam, jump on me here also. This thread did not begin on this issue at all and as many discussions at any such site it moves as it goes along. So forgive my moving it even further or get upset and I can start a new thread on this question and I am not attacking anyone. Boy now TP has to be PC it seems.

Walter tells he damaged the housing and a steering cylinder by driving over a rock which he did not realize he had dropped. I am not being smart here rather ignorant as thankfully we don't have many rocks here. It would seem a rock this large you would have felt it come out of fel (I assume that is where it was dropped from) but if bouncing a long at good clip probably not) it would also seem it would require a good bit of speed to damage the steering cylinder and then run up on it with enough speed to crack the housing. To me, a person who has little fel experience, would seem running too fast for conditions. Well that is not a question now that I type it, the fact you ended up with the damage you did proves that fact. I just find it interesting.

Now further off topic, about two years ago a tooth broke off of a gear in my transmission. Disking in a good size field with no stumps or rocks and had not changed gears or used clutch in a while. Why did the gear break? Was it a bad piece of metal it was machine from? Was it the hard jolting work I had done the week or so before in removing stumps? Was the gear undersize for the engine hp? Don't know and can not say but sure do remember the cost and do know there has been no more stump pulling like I had done.

The concrete pipe is at least 12 inche diameter but we think 10 inch pvc will be large enough. But thanks for the suggestion for had not thought about TSC having the pipe I needed. Was looking at 45 miles away.

I would not be surprised if you are totally correct Murf. It is suppose to be only a few miles from me so it caught my eye. But think the Post Office line does apply here: if it sounds too good to be true...
I did wonder if they might have meant to have a 1 infront of the 4. There has to be something wrong there. Mistake or scam.

Not a dealer but very pleased with my two Kubotas. But you still need to to list what you will be doing in better detail both to the size of stumps and when that work is done. Along the line of what Hardwood said about digging them, lifting them may be a bigger issue. Many rigs can dig a stump bigger than they can lift out once dug.

Not being smart for reading your comments you remind me of me when I first went to buy a tractor, not sure what all I wanted it for just wanted it. Glad the salesman was a true professional and would not take deal until we talked need. He really helped me a lot. Take a few minutes and write down what you know you will use it for, then write down what you think you will use it for. Then come back and fill in the details such as size of stumps and good estimates on how much they weigh and time frame you have for this. Will help you long term.

Terry, it would help if you were to tell if finishing mower or rough cut mower.

Below is link for Oregon blades for finishing mowers. I would suspect they have a replacement but they do not show your brand. I have Bush Hog brand it uses another brand but find the Bush Hog ones are heavier and last longer.

The tractor on the top of your site sure looks interesting. Thought it must be an european model with the front hitch. Guess you import them. Don't think I have ever seen them in my part of the world.

Never seen this done but years ago was told it worked..tilt the fence out toward the side they would be jumping from..this creates a problem for judging depth to jump it.

Never heard it worded that way but certainly understand it. Buy and use one machine and the support it needs is a shop, tools, a service truck, fuel tanks, insurance, place to use it, more equipement to support it, and all you wanted was to dig one little hole or cut a small lawn. :-) O

Jeff, understand what you were saying about Michigan. Yet at times we bring it on our selves. Poor decisions by business leaders and our government and if there is fraud of any type added in there it just makes it a slippery slope. I am afraid we have that combo in some of our highest positions of this county both government and business. We really are putting the foxes in charge of the hen house and he has invited his friends over for a feast at your's and my expense and our children and further generations. Least anyone think I am only speaking of one person, sadly it is much bigger than that.
