Point well taken but I have learned over the years there are many tools often you can use. The best tool for the job is the one that does it which I already have. Guess that is why Lowes seldom sees me. Yep, I have bought a tool for a job, back in the days when I was allowed to keep some profits by DC. kt

Ask the pros as they can tell you why what you have already done is impossible or as has been said, will those who say it can not be done get out of the way of those getting it done. OK my rant..I know I have raised 3 pth both ways on more than one tractor, with starter most often just normal starting the engine not on purpose. Very much realize the amount of fluid is way more on FEL and worn pumps and such really could make it impossible.

EW, point taken on having tractor in proper gear for direction you are pulling it, but I think most here know which direction they are going and are honest about it unlike many running for office. :) kt

Woodie, almost had me worried, no idea when I have measured the amount I use. A pour of that looks about right unless doing 50 gallons or more is what I have always done. Learned how to measure watching the cooking shows on tv. :) kt

Lots of vinyl siding in my part of the world and lots of mildew with hot humid summers and wet winters. Pressure washers used a lot with regular household bleach with the wash setting or nozzles, not the high pressure settings. But there is a product that is better than that, Jomax. Must use it right by direction and that means mixing it 100% per direction if you don't the bleach will kill it. Spray it on with any sprayer such and then rinse it off. Works very good and mildew does not come back as quick either. You still use bleach but not as much.

I have used it a few times and it gets great marks from me and my wife and she is the inspector. Now, stained rubber molding, don't know of anything that cleans the stain from that.

Be sure the sprayer you use is bleach safe. kt

This is an option I saw.

I like the idea of the pipe nipple with a cap screwed onto it. Then all you need is a wrench to take it off to check the air.

A few years ago bumped into a maintenance person from the Air Force Base that was here. He told me they found no advantage in using the synthetic based upon long time testing of their own. Not sure the numbers are right on it but he went on to say they changed the dino oil at 3,000 and the synthetic at 5,000 (this is the number I am not 100% sure on but it was at least 5,000). Odd, to me that is an advantage there. kt

I have jumped a few systems over the years. Even 12 starting a 6 volt (fun) and in all of those not aware of a voltage regulator failure, even with arching. Even with no failure that I am aware of in the last 30 years of a voltage regulator no doubt in right situtation it could. Then it could have just be timing and had nothing to do with it. kt

You may have to drain your tank to get rid of the reason the filters we "plugged up". Look and see if you have any more moisture in the there before you bother to bleed. kt

Wondered the other day and this post brings it back up.

Many ask how much a tractor with so and so equipment is worth they are looking to buy or sell. This person is looking for equipment for his. I understnad their hunt but wonder, is there a better way to help on such here?

Would it be possible to have a place where people could post what they paid for a tractor or piece of equipment and the date? That way there could be a running list of prices but of course they will not cover all models or even brands. No doubt where a person ask for such info and no one replies for they really don't have a firm enough answer if a new person they may think no one cares when that is not true. I guess when a person post a question for wanting to buy or sell something they could be just pointed to the classifieds. To me there is no way accurate prices could be given out near as often as asked for. kt

reread your first post. The term bushhogging is often used to mean ROUGH cut mowing. It happens to be a brand name that makes a lot of cutters both rough cut and finish (lawn quality). Are you wanting a tractor to cut pasture or lawn? If you will not be using on lawn I would prefer ag tires. If you find a true small farm tractor they weigh more than does the compact tractors so many use on their lawns and often with front end loaders. No doubt 4 wheel drive is desired with a FEL, with the weight difference the ag tractor has much more traction in 2 wheel drive than does the compact models even of same hp. The HST (hydrostat) trans I think Joel mentioned above is great for stop and go type use such as FEL work or cutting lawns or even short pulls with a blade if it requires pulling and then backing up. There is another option which I have never used but there are experts here on those and they will chime in probably. The traditional manuel is hard to beat depending on your use.

Notice a blade with wings was a suggestion and they had advantages but you may find a box blade would be all you need but they will not angle, only straight pulls and may not suit you on your drive.

Find friends with tractors that will let you play with them or dealership. On used I would not buy if I could not test it and not for a ride around the block unless you really know you can trust the seller. How you fit on the tractor or any other operator is also important. The way one model is laid out may suit you much more than another.
