Can not help your questions but let me suggest you post this as a new Message rather than to the end of this one as many will not look here and miss your request. Your question on the grass cutter is a puzzle, there is a classified section here and you may find one there but this is not a dealership site. If you are wanting suggestions on what your options are on cutter for your tractor there are many Green Guys here who will chime in with expert advice. As to the oil change, is there more to a JD oil change than remove the oil pan plug and the filter? Are you needing info on type of oil or amount? Great site. Hope you enjoy it. kt

I am slightly puzzled but that is not odd. When you began you said you might want to keep it on the 4 wheel drive tractor you could buy. Your last post makes it seem there is no option but to sell it. What ever you decide I hope it works great for all. kt

Don't let this cause you to made a bad decision. There are lenders on used equipment beginning with YOUR bank. Depending on your area you may find a good discount on a 2 or 3 year old used machine right now. Much more than any interest of reasonable rate would come close to. I have found compact used tractors can vary in price a good bit here within a short drive. Also don't over look insurance and taxes on the machine. Shop careful for the insurance because the prices and coverage can vary a lot. First placed to begin is with your homeowners company. If they will they normally are the lowest price. When have you changed the fuel filter? Have you checked for water in your fuel, assuming you have a clear fuel filter/water seperator so you can see to know, could your fuel be old enough to be gelled. Possible trash in the fuel pickup tube in the fuel tank. Probably not it but how about your air filter. kt

Never has used a MMM but there is also a rear mount or RFM as an option and there the fit should be open to all brands.<br>

CZ, if you have not already flush the coolant system, see if you can catch it and check to see if there is anything in it that could be cutting the seals. Sounds like a fair dealer. kt

I have found the need to oil the exposed linkage often. There is so much more there compared to older tractors. kt

It sounds like you need to really spray the linkage with a good lubericant. Be sure to spray all points in the linkage including where it goes into the transmission. It really can be amazing how well the linkage can stick when not lubed or used. Many chemicals and fertlizers will really make this worse. At same time you probably need to spray the pivot points on the both ends of your lift arms.

EW, thought of you last week and this post as I went to buy drainage pipe. You may be buying at the wrong store. My son in law suggested a local company who makes concrete drainage and sells the plastic pipe. They were a good bit less for what I wanted than Lowes. This was field drainage pipe with the sock on it. kt

dayleh, based upon my own experience, if you have let your saw sit a day or so since last trying it, put in a new spark plug and then use the normal process to start it. Don't vary anything from the way it has always worked such as number of pulls with choke on or such. Has worked for me a few times. Sometimes having a problem we will change the way we have always started a engine and miss something as simple as switching it on or priming it. Last fall one of my son in laws borrowed my saw, after a couple of hours he came back with it and it will not start. Have pulled it and pulled it and will not even fire. I had used it just like you a few days ealier and no problem and I failed to start it also. Changed plug with no effect. Let it sit for a few hours and amazing it started and ran fine. I really believe you can get such a build up of fumes and oil in there some 2 cycle engines just need to air it out. Back in the days of carbs on car engines have seen that also.

Years ago one of my brother in laws and I were cutting fire wood. We stopped for refueling and his saw would not start. He pulled and pulled it and even when ask is it on, yep! I switch and it was off. He took my saw and pulled and pulled and failed to start it to which I asked again, if is off, yep! Humous as it could be he had pulled for several minutes on two different saws with both being switched off even when asked on each saw. Hate to say I have done the same also.

bvance, guess snow is like soils, a lot of variance in texture. Some soils here a rake will move remarkably well, then if you catch our sandy soils it just slips though like you are plowing it. Also the drier the soil the more it breaks apart and slips through the rake. I have move a good bit of soil with a rake also. Not my first choice but if short distance has worked well for me also. kt<br>

I forgot about the comment on the rake digging in, I have found the speed seems to affect that for me. Slow speeds dig in more than little faster does.

No experience with a Yanmar or JD for that matter. But first are you sure the horn and lights themself are good? If they are then test for ground and power to them. If the push button is one you must hold in, my guess would be horn or glow plugs. Is the previous owner where you could ask on the switch? I would suspect there is a relay in horn or turn signal light circuit. If no relay in the turn signal there certainly is a flasher. kt

Dumb here and have paid attention to the lower mileage arguement with ethanol carefully. Not sure really how my mileage is affected due to not driving enough tanks with it to really know.

Here is where I am confused, the octane rating, does ethanol not affect it or does octane rating mean nothing as to fuel mileage in todays engines? kt

Hardwood, not doubt Labor Unions have and do some good. But in some cases they are major problems. In our county the school board is so out of touch it is unreal. We build new bigger schools and close the older ones. Then we put portables at the just open schools cause they are too small. Then we let the old buildings sit until the roof falls in and then sell it on the private market for very little and all of a sudden the building is good enough for high price apartments or offices. A school building that should have been worth about a million easy sold for $200,000 due only to the way the building was shut and left for about four years before selling. But boy do we have pretty and new schools all across our county. To the point they want us to add sales tax on on the rich tourist to help now pay all the bonds. Property tax is about twice what it was just eight years ago not counting the increase in property value which also pushed it up. Even Ted Kennedy is smarter. kt
