U.S. Senate: We want people packing heat in parks

WASHINGTON (AP) - Nearly half the Senate wants to allow people to carry guns into national parks and wildlife refuges. Forty-seven lawmakers signed a letter asking the interior secretary to lift restrictions that prevent citizens from carrying firearms onto lands managed by the National Park Service and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The National Park Service says the Reagan-era restrictions were put in place for public safety and to protect wildlife. A park official says before the rules were adopted, "people would go out and shoot wildlife." He says he's worried if people are packing heat in the nation's parks, it could lead to accidents. The lawmakers write in their letter that the current regulations "infringe on the rights of law-abiding gun owners" who want to take firearms on or across federal land. The office of the Interior secretary says officials are reviewing the letter.

DN, depending on where you live in NC you may know Agri Supply very well. Their prices and support normally are the best. You may wish to price the tillers they sell. I am not saying the product line they sell is built as well as the King Cutter or not. I have no idea but they have stood behind anything I have every bought 100%. kt

Boy Murf, that is some visibility there. And you can get that by just the auto you drive?

Porky, be sure you don't have the lift set to where it is using starter power to raise the arms either especially if there is any load on it. It being cold any extra load shows up more so. kt

Brian, the green is either an "un ripe" pumpkin or a watermelon. It is my belief when the product matures or reaches perfection it does turn ORANGE! Sort of like the school in your backyard. Hey, no humor what is life? At least there is pumpkin pie if need be. kt

For the most part, most times if I fill my fuel bowls when cleaning or changing them I do not have to bleed the system. I do try to run the engine a little first so it is not cranking cold but very seldom has this not worked fine for me. kt

Very seldom do I have any problems connecting my 3 pth. Recently I almost had a biggie blunder. There is nothing like getting cocky when doing something you have done many times and the next one being different. Just saying be careful. Never put yourself between an implement and the tractor while hooking up. My almost biggie as the implement tipped to the tractor and ME. Had to wait for pry bar as DRankin said to use.

One simple point I learned when connecting your lift arms is connect the one that is on the lowest side of the implement as you then can use the lift itself to raise that arm, normally tilting the implement down on the other side but if you connect the higher side first, totally different ball game, one hard to win. kt

There is a flock or two of geese in our world or rather we bump into them once in a while. How do gators and geese get along? Or do you loose too many golfers...
It would seem if you find the eggs to oil them you could either just destroy them or if that would cause them to lay more, then replace with dummy eggs (how about gator eggs oh yea). I wonder what effect playing a recording of geese distress sound would be or the smell of burning geese feathers would have if any. Or sound of their nature enemies or they so tame they don't know those sounds? kt

What I like here and I am not a hunter...we make laws to protect the animals and then we must figure out how to regulate them without taking away their rights. Hey, based upon humans, TAX them. Keep rasing it and they will move to other countries when the tax is high enough. Boy that was simple. Am sure there are those in congress who would support the tax idea. kt

EW, yes I did mispell it. I was not trying to point out an incorrect spelling by denwood. Rather his buying a hitch and copying the other end rather than buying them. If I were going to do such I sure would not put it on the internet due to Patents. (or my spelling of patens) kt

DN, a good friend of mine told me a few years ago...buy your diesel fuel where they really sell diesel fuel...(the more they pump the cleaner the fuel you buy probably is).

Many diesels have a clear fuel filter housing so you can visually check for water in the fuel. BTW, how did you find the ice, did it float? For water is heavier than diesel. But ice is not as heavy as water, just wondering. kt

Guess it is good the tractors do not match the value of some of our comments or replies. If so there would be one or two rusted out broken down rigs showing. :) kt
