Murf, just might invite EW for Christmas. Have not fried a turkey in a while! Have a big cast iron wash pot that will hold a lot.

On the gorilla, I vagly remember when fertlizer was in 200 pound bags, now 40 or 50 pounds.

Short study in your American History. That is the flag of the great state of South Carolina, very rich in history and with many battle grounds both on our land and our waters. The symbols come from the Revolution War totally. The palmetto tree surprised many (engineers?) as it was soft and absorb the energy of the British guns, rather than splintering. There are those who say the crescent is a new moon and some who say it is not the moon.

Asked by the Revolutionary Council of Safety in the fall of 1775 to design a flag for the use of the South Carolina troops, Col. William Moultrie chose a blue which matched the color of their uniforms and a crescent which reproduced the silver emblem worn on the front of their caps. The palmetto tree was added later to represent Moultrie's heroic defense of the palmetto-log fort on Sullivan's Island against the attack of the British fleet on June 28, 1776.

Chief, it was easy to tell this year the guy raising hay on family land was not going to cut it when the Johnson grass grew to about 5 feet high. It took over most of the coastal bermuda in about 2 months.<br>

Pulling plows, have not used moldboards with my Kubota M6800 but based upon it's manual it sure seems like they rate it very low. (I think 2, 16 inch) I do know that tractor will pull with my brothers Massey which is larger and about 9 or 10 hp more. The soil type, depth, speed and how clean the land is all impact this. <br>

My father in laws Ford 601 pulled two 14 inch moldboards very well. A 43 hp Case would pull the same at depth deepter that the tractor would clear.<br>

KC, if you go looking for used moldboards try to find them with good parts. You can spend more to replace worn parts than you paid for the plows. Moldboards would do a better job of getting rid of the current plants I think than you will find with the disc as they will turn the crop under better. At least my experience.

If any of you mentioned this I missed it: the way the shops sharpen chains does vary. Some do a much better job than others. So if you use a shop, and are not pleased you may be with another one. Try talking with who does the sharpening. You will probably know before they do the work if you will be pleased.

I do wonder if the Harbor Freight model holds it angles. Will be looking for those post. The hand file method is old for me. The dremel tool does just like someone said, the stone wears so fast your teeth vary.

It could be worth a phone call to check your state, some have a warranty more than you might think. Workmanship may not be warrantied since it was not done for you, but then it may. Had an engine head repaired by a shop who did not complete their job. Dropped a valve. They had to replace the engine under our state law of workmanship.

SG, drive safely. Hope the dove hunting is good. Better than in my part of SC. Last year we probably will plant for them.

We owe a lot to our troops, the previous ones and the current ones. We should provide the best for them in weapons, encouragement and the providence of God.

I am little hesitant to mention, but for me Thanksgiving is one week to the day after my Mom passed at age 87. Hug your children, kiss your wife and tell your parents how much they mean to you. Remember it is THANKS GIVING.

It is my sincere prayer that each of you will be blessed greatly and know the peace of Jesus Christ.

I built a shop with steel roofing about 5 years ago. Currently the roof is open but the shop walls are solid with little air movement below the roof and with concrete floor. If there is any condensation in my shop it is very seldom and very little. Now, the sheds on the side with dirt floors and wide open, grab rain coat at times.

As to steel holding in high winds, old galv. roofing nailed on here has held up to many a hurricane over the years. If you have every thing underneath nailed properly it is seldom you see a loose sheet.

Ron, I think you are correct on what you have said about Ondura. My understanding it is a multi layered paper product. They did have vented and non vented product to seal the ends.
