You are right on the red wire. In 110 ac the black is the postive, live or hot wire and that was what I had in mind.

There are several factors that could be causing a total close of a dealership.
One is not a good product line. This could be poor or over priced product or just no line.
The owners just wanted out due to health, age or for any number of other reasons. They may or may not have tried to find a buyer.
The could be split in the ownership, due to divorce, family or business partners breaking up. Often see these as another generation comes on the scene.
The older dealership may not have had to deal with competition and got lazy or fat in the way they operated or their attitude to employees or customers.
Changes in their area. Less demand or not sufficient demand for the growing overhead. Overhead does normally grow in cost. Insurance, taxes, wages and building cost all increase normally over time.
They have used up all their credit limit and just fold.
Lack of the right employees.
I am sure there are others. In my business I see companies not thinking about who has brought them to where they are, often CEO�s only want to see gross growth and don�t think of net growth. If they raise the gross sales by 10% their bonuses reflect that. Regardless whether or not the profit margins increased or decreased. (I think Disney a few years ago is a great example of this.) Often a CEO is brought in to get a company looking good to be sold. They are only there to make it look good on paper. Little thought or concern for the long term benefit of the company as the major owners are just wanting to take all profit they can and get out.

I am sure my math is a little off but would not the tines roate like a million times to get a single PTO shaft rotation due to the gearing? The point I think the great Murf is making.

I believe you will find the biggest problem with the teflon tape is it getting placed to low on the male fitting, past the threads. That sure would allow the tape if cut to move into the system. If used properly it sure would seem hard for that to happen. Of course when a fitting it removed, the female part should be cleaned.

At same time, would not a glob of paste creat some problem?

Long years ago we had to use teflon tape on stainless threads as the paste would push out of some fittings. The paste could be better now or the threading of the stainless could be smoother. That was 20 years ago.

If nothing else has been shown by the beavers and their dam is the need for us to be envolved in our government.

That also means running for office as the saying goes if the shoe fits.

I thank those such as WW and Willie H who made an effort to force a wrong tax issue, regardless of the results. At least they know people are watching. When we quit carring it will die.

We purchased a 4 x 2 Gator about 3 years ago. It has poor ground clearance and rough ride on rough groud. The engine is smaller than others and the road speed is also slower. JD has changed this product since our purchased but I have no idea how.

For our use it has done a very good job. It also fits DOT regs on farm use so is legal over the Mule here for on road time. It has between 100 and 200 hours and there has been no service issues other than my fault for not addding gas stablizer one winter. Most important issue, was what my wife who uses it 98% wanted! Got that. LOL

Here if you are buying with a loan on the property your only choice would be to back out or it to be fixxed before the closing. If no loan it is up to negoation.

As has been said it can be from not just begun to house falling down.

The warranty is only as good as the company. I had a contract with Orkin on my first house. Had minor termite damage, only took about 3 months for them to pay for it. They were honest when I called them on it. Said it would take that long. They also were not willing to do a terminte inspection on my house even under contract with them for the buyer. Guess who did not treat our new house nor does work for use any longer.

They love moisture.

Since this has gotten so varied,

BBB gets paid by the business that are members to give reports on their members. They are in business just as any business is to make money. I have seen at least one insurance company that got great BBB reports on when the industry knew there was all kind of problems with them.

I have found one local tractor shop to be very competitive to TSC.
Found simple light bulb at the local Kubota to be 4 times the price on same bulb as the other tractor shop and a parts store.

Yet filters for my Kubotas are in line at the Kubota dealership, as good as any parts store. So, I guess you just have to pay attention.

Don,

I read this you purchased this tractor used, since you point out it had a new water pump on it when purchased. If so it could be they were trying to find the problem and failed also or did not like the cost of it.

Simple things I have seen, clogged air filter or greatly restricted. Clogged at least partly radiator core. I have seen the best chemical flush not work, required taking apart to clean it out. Could you be overloading the tractor? Or using a higher gear than you should for the load?

Not saying a 2004 model is old. But that is long enough for corrosion to show up in an open connection. Open connections do happen at factories also. Just replaced the total wiring on a trailer (factory built) due to that and it is not 2 years old. The push in connections on the lights had corroded enough to act as insulation. The light would work and then not work. Based upon the fact your trailer is new, I would look there first.

Another way to test if you have the option is another trailer that you know is working to your pickup and another pickup to your trailer.

I have used a "paint" from automotive paint supply store on my disk. It is designed to paint on rusted surface and give you a smooth surface. You can paint over it (may should be) but I just painted my disk black with it. It is a bear on brushes so if you use it, realize the brush is history as you can not remove it from the brush. It probably would work well on the sheet metal if and when it needs to be coated to prevent further rust.

I would have to stop by the paint store it get the name but will if you want me to.

Yesterday had something to happened that surprised me. My son in law was cutting with my CUT and said it sure it running hot. Was not in the hot zone but was higher than we felt it should have been. Took air hose and blew out radiator. Some dust but nothing much. Happened to take out air filter, boy was it dusty. Cleaned it and tractor ran much cooler. Filters are replaced often but apparantly not as often as need be. So if your tractor is running on higher temp side, check for clean air filter.

Ball hitch giving more movement than pin, do you mean pivot action such as tractor on one plane and trailer on another? Or going over hill or through ditch or such?

One other point the ball probably will give some advantage is less up and down free movement when dumping.

Ken, good for you to figure out the problem on the mount. No doubt you will enjoy your trailer.
