I have replaced the left tail light blub on my tractor 3 or 4 times in the last two months. Don't use it much at night but on road about dusk so like it working. I have used at least 2 different brands purchased from 2 different stores. Yet after just a few minutes they stop working. Don't really looked burned out but they must be as I can hook them directly to a 12 volt source and they will not work. Yes, I have verified the bulbs are 12 volt for my 12 volt system. <br>

The light fixture has place for 2 light bulbs but only use one. Guess the other use is an option I don't have. In trying to figure out what is going on noticed the area around the other bulb socket is busted. Looks like it is allowing a little dust into the bulb area. I have not found any moisture in the fixture or really much dust. It is hard to believe dust could be blowing the bulbs as I have seen tail lights on trailers and such run for a long time with a broken lens.<br>

I agree with Art. But if you have something that really needs to follow the land you may have options such as adding wheels to the equipement like a finishing mower uses.

Years ago Ford tractors lifts never held a load level. For field cultivation that was a problem. So the local farmer added skids that were adjustable and let the plow slide along very well on them. Work so well other brands of tractor owners used them for convenience.

It is very simple what children want, they want their parents and family. They will take them any way then can get them. Just listen to their laughter as they do play catch or any thing with their parents. They want to know their parents love each other even if not together. They want to know they are loved. They want to know you will be there for them regardless. They want you to be their father or mother. They want to be the child. They want to be hugged, loved and told you love them. They want to see you smile just because of them and nothing else.

Most of what any of us hold precious in memories from our childhood has little to do with money, more to do with the time our parents had for us and making the effort to include us in what ever they were doing.

Listen to the Lord and your heart. You will do just fine.

Being careful here, it seems Harleys and JD have some common areas.

Both have a label that is liked by more than their owners and both are mostly (?) made here. Oh yeah, both are expensive. It is amazing how each of these brands have done such a good job with distinguishing their name and the labeling of products.

If I had no use for the present tires and was 100% sure of that and for the next few years, sell them.

However, before I would make any change I would test my tractor on my yard. I am with earthwrks on running more weight on both ag and loader tires over lawn with no damage. Now, if boggy different issue.

If you decide to change back and forth on your tires, be sure you have good jacks and stands and impact wrench and friend with strong back.

I would guess you stored it with gas in the carburetor and it turned into gel. It may be a good gas additive can clean it. I would still replace the filter and check to see if there is a filter in the tank an if it has gel on it.

There is gasoline stablizer that helps prevent this.

I have a M 6800 with about 550 hours or so on it over 7 years. Put $1500 into the transmission about two months ago for a gear that lost a tooth. Seems the little taping I was hearing and not paying much attention to was serious. Some of the grey paint has flaked off esp. on roll bar and lift area. Top of exhaust pipe just rusted off. Need to adjust the foot throttle, for some reason it has lost it full range. The draft is not great for field cultivation. Have found it can cause problems. Any other issue has been my fault. The plastic does not like limbs.

Mine has only low and reverse range and 3rd and 4th gear synchronized. Would have liked it fully synchronized.

Have had a IH and JD person brag on how quite and smooth it runs and how well it handles. I agree. Even with the transmission issue probably would buy it again. It will pull it�s heart out. It pulls with my brother�s heavier and little larger MF but handles much better.

Best thing about it, my grandson likes it.

Realize I am mixxing products here but a few years ago purchased a Dodge four wheel drive pickup. My first. I was told how to engage the four wheel drive very detailed by the dealership and it was sitting still and well, it just did not work. Read the manual and it was very straight forward engage when moving slowly. Worked very well. Dealership was surprised when I went over the manual with them.

On my Kubota that has 4 wheel drive, I sometimes have to put it in gear and move the tractor a little to engage the 4 wheel drive.

Guess what I am saying is this seems to be a lot of 4 wheels work.

I asked my shop yesterday on this and they said that engine runs about 205 to 210. It could be your thermostat is stuck open, or missing. Is it possible the sending unit is not a match for you new guage or it is bad. I would think you had run it sufficient to see it reach it's normal operating temp.

Don't think the wind will not bother or affect you with a boom. If you read a good spray nozzle catalog it will point out which nozzles give you the larger doplet size which is LESS affected by the wind or drift.

Murf, I fully understand that boom tilt. Can be wicked.

Does back hoe has it's own hyd system running off of the tractor's pto? If it does my experience with such as system on mower finally convinced me the oil level is check when it is fully HOT.

Was at a local dealership Tuesday to hear a customer tell his piece of equipment was pusing oil out to which the service person said the oil level is high.

I can only ask this question as I don't know, could the jerky motion be caused by pressure setting that is also causing overheating?

BA,

A few years ago our deep well was having problems and a well driller I knew quickly asked said you have public water available, go with it. Seems my 200 or so well was dwarfed by the large commerical well just a little ways across the woods at a trash hauling company of all things.

As to the cost, you may be dealing with a person who really can not handle math.

WHy don't you find out what state agency regulates wells there, call and ask if what this guys is telling you is accurate or not on installing new casing. Could be he thinks he is correct but not or could be he is 100% accurate and honest.

To me there are several pieces of missing info for anyone to give you even a ballpark price. But here is my ball park, between $300 to $600 each.

The type of tires and where you are located and the tire dealerships in your area and just what do you mean by installed. Will they be filled with water or such or just air?

Based upon my experience some tire dealer are set up for field work don't charge a lot more than you taking it to them (not when you value your time, hauling, and such).

I would get the tire size and call asking for price.
