Hands down HONDA I am on my third Pioneer Never returned for repair, Quiet, Good resale. My son has had Polaris lots of troubles, engine went out at low mileage, Polaris would not warranty it. Polaris has the worst warranty in the UTV market. The Pioneer is the best all around UTV

Hi thanks for the reply I have no smoke, no extra oil in crankcase no diesel smell, starts great, runs very nice, leaking oil doesn't smell like diesel, valve cover vent is open.

wanna ask another question...... i see alot of different people using different things in their trannys. i use hydrolic oil..... some use 80/90..... some use engine oil........... i mean holy cow. which would you say????

I purchased a agracat 254 the other day after reading as much as i could find on them. teh guy i bought the tractor from got to me on it by lying about some issues the tractor had and i bit like a dumby. but anyway i have worked on equipment in the past but i since got smart and changed careers, but now am back to working on it lol.<br>
Anyway i just wanted to say thank you guys for all the helpful info and thanks to you guys i have the tractor running like a top. still need a few parts but they r minor issues i can order soon. you guys know your stuff thats for sure and i will be an active and learning memberof this site for years to come.<br>

I have a b7300 with a FEL and a back blade that I have been using to clear my stone driveway here in NE PA. It has bar turfs with v-bar chains on all wheels. The rears are also loaded. This season I have grown tired of looking over my shoulder to plow and then turning around to stack with the FEL. I know many of you use blowers but they are out of the question due to lack of power and the driveway surface. I would like to get a plow to mount on the loader arms. The idea of being able to plow and stack with the same tool sounds good to me. I am just wondering if anyone has any experience with small plows of this type.

Anyone with any info on where to get parts for my bolens 2702G tractor please respond. I am currently in need of a trans filter. Also if any other brand of part would interchange, please let me know that also.

Seon, You could have a defective safety switch on the transmission neutral switch or pto neutral switch. You might try wiggling the pto lever and transmission lever while attempting to crank the engine. If starter engages while wiggling a lever, the safety switch on that lever is probably bad. Actually you should start by cleaning all battery terminals and cable connections. Including the ground connection at the frame. Do you have front pto for a mid mount mower? That switch also needs to be disengaged for tractor to start. Do dash lights and/ or headlights work? There is a fusible link in the harness near the starter. It is a white wire about 3-4 inches long with a connector on each end. If it burns out, no lights or anything electrical will work. Then there is always the possibility of a defective starter. If you have access to a voltmeter, you might check for voltage at the starter at the small terminal while holding key in crank position. If you have voltage, but it is less than 10 volts you might consider installing a starter relay that will ensure getting full battery voltage to starter solenoid. I have seen several 50 series compacts have this problem due to resistance in the wiring harness.

George, The only thing that comes to mind is what kind of oil did they use to refill the transmission. The only acceptable oil is low viscosity hygard.
I would hope that the dealer used the proper oil, but you can't take anything for granted.

The fron end sliding should not be a problem under most circumstances. I do think it is even less of a problem if you have ag tires instead of turf tires. They give better traction in snow.

Jim,
You asked i there was any downside. If you do have a loader, you might notice slower cycle times since the power steering diverts 2 gallons per minute of hydraulic flow to the steering valve. some people find this unacceptable especially if your hydraulic pump is worn already. A higher flow pump may be available but I am not sure.

Bruce, yes the temperature light should come on when the key is turned to the crank position. It should not light when the key is in the run position, unless the engine is actually overheating. That feature was put in as a bulb check. If it does not light while cranking the engine, you may have a defective bulb or a wiring problem.

Warren, you didn't mention what model tractor you have, but I am going to assume it is a 4000 series. I recommend using a paint stick to put a mark on the height adjustment knob so you can count the number of turns you crank the knob in. Then when you remove the loader, just back off the knob the same number of turns. Your height should then be exactly where you started.

Tree farmer, Tell your dealer that you need RE72944 Anti-fog Glass Service Kit. That should cure your problem. It consists of treated glass and a new seal for the instrument panel.

Sparky, The best way to check the hoe is to connect a pressure gauge into the circuit you feel is weak. If you call your dealer, they should be able to tell you the relief pressure setting. You might have a defective relief valve.

Bruce, Another thought crossed my mind while reading the other responses. I have seen the air filter clogged so tight that an engine will draw air and oil up past the rings causing it to smoke and burn oil. An easy check but be sure to check if it has a secondary filter inside of the primary one.
