My thought would be something is loose in the fuse/wiring area and the stop is pulling the short into contact.

Have you tried moving the lever to the down position and push them down by hand?

Many times new stuff is stiff. These are usually gravity operated and just need a little push.

Just a after thought here. B 4 U replace waterpumps, As TomG said check drive belt condition and tension. What is the condition of the lower radiator hose? Does it retain its shape when hot? had it been cut on the interior by a overtightened hose clamp and part of the inside rubber peeled away blocking the line?

In a ideal world the 2 would be perfect.

The new guy on the assembly line doesn't know which part bin to pull from.

Parts ran out of stock on the correct dipstick and the stock room subistuted something close.

Someone in translations mixed up liters and qts.

Someone swapped them on the lot to be funny.

Check the lenght of the dip stick against the manfactures newest part listings for your model and serial #.

Over fill is very bad anywhere. Underfill is bad if you operate on slopes.

How many yards of mix do you have to do? Thinking about my back even with the loader I would not want to mess with anything more than 4 or so yards.

Just did a floor 22 yards with 8 good intentioned men, not many with any experience or they would not have volunteered, it was just about right for all the wheeling and screeding and doing stuff the hard way. A good contractor could have done it with 3

The tractor will be slow and you will get slop. You will have to have extra bodies for grunt work. How much extra is the concrete truck on an extended delivery?

A hour of pump time at $2.50 a minute sounds cheap and much easier on the back to me.

There is nothing quite like the summers up there. I've subsistance fished in the Copper River. Eaten smoked salmon all winter (yup tuff to light)...Chased Bullwinkle and Yogi captured by shooting with 35mm.

Always said, in the 6 years I spent up there, "summers always made up for the winters". The last winter I spent in the interior it would have taken 2 summers to thaw out.

I often think about the big outdoor feasts in Fairbanks with the fresh fish grilled to prefection and served up as much as you can eat...

That is a awesome idea. If you look at the big cable layers you'd have the thought of how to do.

First you need to rig a feed tube to the back side of the subsoiler to get the cabe to the bottom. You can decide how to carry the cable or to feed it.

I would make a dry run to the project to check for obstructions (BFR's, stumps, etc) if you are happy with the depth make the real run and lay the cable feeding it down the tube to start. It will self feed after a few feet.

If you just want to tinker at splitting wood get the remote. If you need to be serious about splitting wood go the power beyond route. If you are very serious about wood 20+ standard cords get a complete seperate unit.

My remotes will operate my splitter but it is painfully slow (not enough flow, volume) to operate a cylinder of any size. the power beyond is 3X better and the cycle times are greatly improved.

I have used the pto screw splitters (1 time and only for a couple of hours) and would never use one again. I would not let my boys with in 25 foot of the thing when I saw how it worked. They are the most dangerous things I have ever encountered.

My splitter is built so I can add a little diesel engine, a 22+gpm pump and a 5X24 cylinder. But I may never do that because the powerbeyond does a great job. BUT I may come across a smokin deal...

Many times the grease gun couplers are poorly made and are the problem. Our operators will wear out a couple of them a year. Usually the problem is a poor seal.

Your case might be a poor coupler, bad fitting (maybe still has paint on it) or there is still pressure on the fitting keeping the coupler locked on.

Change the fitting, check pressure (does the coupler move VERY easily around the fitting in a circular motion?) replace the coupler.

I can call off the deck many times just barely getting service, with Verizon. Cingular has no service at all unless atsomphere is just exactly so.

On top of my TV tower 70' I get a solid bar of service on Verison and still no service with Cingular.

I have Verizon and cingular phones plus 2 land lines. It's a pain to fwd calls back and forth at home plus 2 and from work.

I think Joannes customers would also benifit from a repeater here at the house. Maybe a tax write off??? :-)

But I need to do more research B 4 I commit money to the project.

bmlekki You do not show where in Upstate. But almost all of the watersheds in the fingerlakes region REQUIRE a complete septic inspection before the property transfer can take place.

Me thinks the Deleware basin is in the same boat.

You make have a legal recourse. Either from the previous owner or the orginazation that inspected it.

However I like to keep other out of my business and would bite the bullet and fix it my self by installing a new field either down from existing or rigth on it.

You can run UF under ground. Most of my yard lights and the run to my shed is in UF. The shed is 180' from house and is on 12/2 power it is a little iffy for large circular saws.

Very few of my wires like that are more than 6-8 inches down. I did draw out maps for the next residents after I do not need this stuff anymore... :-)

Nothing pissed me off more than having to make a trip to the shed for some obscure part I packed away because it might come in handy some day and have to search with a flashlight for it...

Mark it is hard for me to envision your set up. Why is there a 1000 gallon storage tank? Is it above or below your water source? How does your water source arrive, gravity or pump. How far away is your water source? How much water does your source provide? Do you have electricity?

Given those questions it still sounds simple enough. But I am not sure about your preference of copper. Plastics are sooo much easier to work with. Unless you have lots of experience as a plumber.

If is a gravity feed you only need a shallow well jet pump and pressure tank. Tap into your storage tank to feed your house. If you have a marginal source of water and have to pump it to your tank, you will need a float tank set up to pump to your storage tank that way you will not run your source dry and pump air requiring a reprime there.

Whole house sediment filters are reasonable. But that means you have a shallow source of water and a clorinator might be a very good idea.

The problem with painting your floor with rubber paint is: top soil will not slide very well if you haul a load of hot asphalt it will all come out with the asphalt.

If rust on the floor is a concern use a light coat of oil on it. Or paint it with a gloss type paint.

The camo side walls sounds like a good idea. However I suspect the hi-rent areas prefer contractors with good looking well maintained equipment. That way they feel better about your higher priced quality work.

If the input shaft is frozen/locked by whatever means the wheels will not turn.

They do make little 48" box blades. I have a JD brand it is solid built and use it on my 35hp JD. Used it for years on little 19hp ford 1500. Now only used for scafier teeth to penetrate soils.

The 790 0r 90 series is about as solid as it gets. Others that own and use will back that up. I went to 4000 series for more features... of course more money also.

The 790 might be a little less hp than the 5' would like. But its just a mater of going a gear or so slower.

The auger is typically held by 2 bolts. Typically there is a shear bolt in the pto yoke going into the gear box. Youu gotta pull the guard back to see it. I'm sure there are other methods but this seems the most prevelant.

A thought on the slipping, (cause I've done it) was the pto lever fully engaged? When I do post holes I try to cover both levers to control down speed and to disengage pto if needed. I do bump the pto lever from time to time and the auger does what Ann says and I go: DUH!
