It is cast, you will have to use a nickle rod. Pre heat weld small area peen with hammer as cools. Keep repeating and keep the slag chipped out I also wire brushed each layer. Work different areas GO SLOWLY. Very important to peen out to relieve stress as cools.

I did one on my ford 1500 15+ years ago and built it up, more metal than original. The tractor is still in operation with another owner.

Nickle rod is not cheap can't remember how much I used but I was not stingy with rod and only burned half a rod and discarded/saved for something else non critical.

Frank rare to see that much metal with one EXCEPTION! You get early spring delivery. Quarries typically do winter maint and weld rod stubs dropped on ground tools dropped etc. The big magnets in front of crushers should catch most. But if work done down stream junk go to stock pile. IT FROM LAZY WELDERS! Welding is big we have burned over 300# rod since mid Jan, not counting wire, thats alot of stubs.

Frank you'll find it more expensive. We had to move all of our FOB pricing 13% just to cover electric and wear parts for crushers. The fuel is gonna add .25-.50 per ton for that distance. We price dumped in stockpile and add .50 per ton for tailgate spreading. Trucking is gonna be brutal this year.

Pinebush = neighbors. Markpee since I cleaned mine with penetrating oil drained well bench tested several times it has not failed me. I did pay alot of attention to the "O" rings. had about 900 hours when acted up and am at 250 or so since cleaning. TO CHEAP to buy new UNLESS it really puts me in a bad spot.

Short of putting in all new tie rods and other linkage. Usually if you look at toe that will help. Toe in a little that will keep pressure on those parts. Dont over do toe or better road surface to either tire will cause it to wobble. Depending on size of tire a quarter to half inch toe well help. Steer box and linkage is another critter.<br>

I've seen some old tractors with a shock asorber mounted on axle to tie rod couldn't tell you if would work or not. Should work. Question is how much of a PITA is the wobble and is it unsafe and how often on road.<br>

On my old "M" I can usually stop by quick Left Right turn steering and it will stop till next irregularity in road.<br>

Thats just the problem with old stuff they get worn out and wobble. Right Art?

The bucket curl circuit when dumping has 2 settings? A little to the right and you should be able to feather the dump ALL the way right opens a relief valve? Dumps super quick. POSSIBLE first feather opening restricted? If it done it since new warranty should look at valve. DONT QUOTE ME ON TERMS FOR VALVES its early and I have BF and headed to work so can't look up.<br>

The BH is simple open close valves. Those you will have to learn to feather. Full extended as it starts down tractor move just little hand moves slightly and the valve opening opens. Try with fingers resting on grabbar and use thumb. ALSO are all the pivot points on the valve linkages lubed? none sticking a little.

auerbach You need some different saws. Even when I'm blocking skidded wood 5-10 minutes each hour touch up with file only, fuel and oil. Turn bar and flat file bar with new loop maybe 30 minutes once a week. If saw I used needed that kind of maintenance it'd be in scrap pile. I'd hate to see what loggers here would do if they had that kind of maintenance requirement.

As long as the frame is square wheels on ground tractor in gear to hold input shaft from turning. You might try a couple pieces of allthread and try pulling the 2 halves together get the rear disk aligned by turning over engine, pull into the front disk MAKE SURE PIOLOT shaft thru front disk, loosen rear pressure plate while turning engine over with tools. YOU MIGHT GET IT THAT WAY. Glad I not in your shoes. NOT SURE IF THAT WILL WORK ON NOT! But it sounds like something I might try. Doing truck trannys in the school of hard knocks is a tuff way to learn about dual clutches.

Is the radiator water disappearing? After new head gasket was it some residual moisture left in block?

That much steam? Smoke? out of the breather might indicate excessive blow by.

I think ford likes to use "O" rings to seal many water jackets you didn't miss one of those on reassembly?

The pump is on the right front corner of the engine. It is gear driven. <br>

I assume the valve in front and below seat is open.<br>

As Ken suggested. I would check the condition of the oil first. If memory serves me it only holds about 5 gal.<br>

I would check the pick up screen while oil is out of tractor. Mine was 3/4 full of metal filings. There were many round corners on the gears I suspect.<br>

Just guessing that when shut off some of the blockage drops off and picks back up when used.<br>
<br>
If that does not solve problem. Get back on here I don't have the manuals but it's not complicated.<br>

I don't think bucket forks on a CUT would handle it. Need some type of 3PH fork set up.

Be nice if you had a garage. Build a heavy duty set of dolly wheels set the load on that push over by door.

I came up in the old school. I just do not believe when teaching to weld you can beat the old reliable basic buzz box. The new ones with ac/dc are even better.

If they are good the skys the limit with arc controls etc I replaced my buzz box with a fancy stick one with arc controls, mig/tig capiable if I want. I can weld with 1/16 rod to ? the biggest I use is 5/32 but I drag out the generator if I burning lots of that. The 1/16 is cool on sheet metal

You get rod angle and heat selection for penetration
You force arc distance
you force puddle control
you can see the process better because you can force slower speed and see the puddle
If they learn out of position with stick when they do go to wire they will have better welds

I've seen several of our mechanics that can not stick a peanut butter sandwich together yet get purty welds with wire ohhh and ahhh but the weld never penetrated.

Just my thoughts. Sounds like you have a lot of 6011 experience from the farm. Nothing like learning on the bottom of a daily use manure spreader. AHHHHH the fragrance! The memory...

I do not think you will find used parts for that new of a model unless it has been totally destroyed. Then the internal parts would be the only thing salvageable.

But you never know...

If it shorted on the bench your wiring on tractor should be ok. Is your tester fused?<br>

If solenoid is unplugged on tractor and you blow a fuse on the tractor when turning key on or to start I'd agree you need to trace wires.<br>

PROBLEM: It is possible that it could be anyone of the safety switch wires in the start circuit that is shorting and taking out the fuse. <br>

As I recall on the bench if using a ohm meter it will show a circuit to ground. (I don't have a formal electrical edumacation so I'll screw up the terms).<br>

I find it difficult to believe you would have 2 bad solenoids. However anything is possible.

The aluminum cutting I believe has a material that doesn't load up or plug up with the softer material. The steel cutter will load or plug with the non ferrous metals and when more pressure is applied to get it to cut it makes it worse then use more pressure and the wheel comes apart.<br>

We have both types on the service trucks and in the shop supply cabinet. Observing after the accident it does make a difference. Same as cutting with a dull knife vs sharp.<br>

Dennis my $.02. Having grown up with wood sheds and today seeing rows stacked out in the weather with leaky tarps, tarped to the ground, no tarp etc.

I still gotta believe the best way to store wood is in a shed. Mine is open sided with 6' over hangs on the eves and 4' on the gables. Lots of air circulates. I put up wood late last fall and it is ready for the furnace now. Started the season with 2 year old dry wood.

We as I recall always/usually cut and burned the same season. Of course today I usually get logs a year in advance they sit in the weather and do soak up the rain so they are still wet when cut and split.

Repressure test the cooling system. That should be the quickest way to check headgasket to waterjacket. If it tests OK it's almost gotta be circulation.<br>

With the over heating and pushing out it sounds more like a circulation issue especially at 5 minutes. Water pump turning? Air lock in water pump? Fan Belt tight? <br>
<br>
Others said it but it is worth repeating. If all that is good I'd check the lower radiator hose and or pull the thermostat next looking for circulation.

I would try that maybe even 3 or 4. Get your self a chain tool. I/we repaired chains for years with a cold chiesel, hammer and anvil. Chain tool is just so slick.

My #9 picture shows mine about 1/2 way down tires. Mine are homemade from used town truck chains. I'd take coffee and donuts up there and beg their old worn out chains. My fronts are a tad longer they are tuff on the tie rod boot so I only run them when I have to.

Some of my X chains are welded together to get lenght, their chains are worn bad and broken. All mine are longer than probably needed. But I don't think long hurts. But as I stated B4, I have shucked 1 a couple of times sliding sideways and still putting power to the wheels.

Bottom line when adding; These are not high speed precision machines. Chains don't need to be purty. I use bolts to bolt cross links together. I weld them together. I have used store bought repair links. Use what ever works and is cheap and easy.
