Nothing is twisted. Read the whole thing 3X B4 I responded the 1st time. Christy's 2nd post did say that.

Just nowhere has the easiest and most overlooked typical problem been addressed.

I just hate to see someone recommending remove the pump or replace it without looking at a very basic problem which is usually the problem. Something as simple as a cotter pin falling out of a linkage or a loose connection.

But I forgot we have moved past that already with out suggesting to check.

Of course I may not be the shinest wrench in the toolbox but then again I've only been dealing with Diesels and twisting wrenches 45+ years.

So this is my last post out this topic.

R U using the brakes to turn? Many times the side ways slide will start to creep the chains off the tire. For some odd reason once they start off the tire they will continue to work off even on level ground.

Been there a few times and it always seems like it happens in the worst possible place and weather.

You can probably look around for other parts. My experience is: there may be other sources out there and I have tried them in the end it is simpler to deal with local dealer than trying to return parts that won't work to ebay or where ever. It's a lot easier to return to dealer. It always seems like each paint scheme has a quirk for each part no matter how generic.

I'd opt for factory parts.

Frank now to answer your question. Skigoats cost $8000-$12000 for the Bigones add another $500-$1000 for Suits, Helmets, Boots, etc. Add 15-20 gals gas per outing. Usually ride to Tavern/Food Entertainment another $50-$100. I've left out the trailer and large SUV/Pickup to haul them plus the gas to travel. It adds up.<br>

Of course you could look at greens fees for summer. Fishing trips, hunting and trips, Alpine skiing.<br>

Just an example of hunting predators (Coyotes) I have invested $4000+ in rifles and scopes (last 2 years my other rifles just arn't for predators...), plus reloading equipment, range/trigger time, just spent $1000 plus on reloading components for about 6-8 months of shooting. My brother uses dogs, has 6 of them, $600-$1200 apiece, radio collars $200 each, Garmin GPS for dogs, 2 sets $600 each, kennels, travel kennels... We all use 2 way radios $150 each. I burn 10-20 gals gas 2 days Sat & Sun half a day each trying to stay in fron of Dogs. I have calling equipment and camo over $1500 invested. The season is only 4 months. Summer I do shoot long range woodchucks.<br>

I have yet to get a Coyote in 3 years, I'm not as dedicated as the others they seem to get out every day. So far this group this season has got 7 Coyotes and 2 Red fox.<br>

NOTE: Most have great summer construction jobs work 60-80 hours and look forward to their layoffs so they can hunt, work on HDL's (honey do lists) and travel. Me I work all year now.<br>

Bottom line: Get to spend good time with my brother, nephews, sons and friends doing something that is challenging, takes a lot of skill and some luck.<br>

You should be able to blend your fuel up to 50/50, this was and still is a very common practice.. If you were going to really work the tractor hard at full RPM I'd only suggest 25% kero.

Even our large Cat loaders are cut 50/50 early season to get the mixes down. As winter progresses we move to 30% kero. March we move back to straight fuel. Some of equipment will enter full summer with cut fuel and no problems. We just do not work them hard a full throttle.

I gotta agree with the arc/stick welding. It gives you much more versitality. 6011 dirty rusty, 6013 pertty, 7018 strenght, different dia rod for different heat ability to hardface. The list could go on.

A good quality AC/DC with arc controls will allow you to also weld sheet metal.

Mig/flux core wire IMHO defeats the purpose of the wire welder. You will have to chip and clean those welds. We have the big LN25's here and the guys that weld like the part about not having to change rods however they still have to stop to keep position then have to chip out slag B4 restriking. So its not really much faster unless you are on a flat straight shot. Indoors it is a great tool with gas as long as you have a big welder with .045 wire.

I gotta believe that first the carbonation goes. How it leaves the can I can only guess that it is a gas and those cans are only so thin. Once the pressure goes that lets the can walls flex with any type of temp change thus opening up so fluid will drain.

But you're doing good. You shoulda see some of the Beer cans that arrived in Southeast Asia. Rust covered needed a church key to open. Ahhhhh just nothing quite like a warm flat beer during a Monsoon.

I do not consider anyones post paraniod. I believe most show good sound sense.

40 years ago, as a teenager, I used to hitchhike all over. I could get from FT Dix, NJ to upstate NY almost as quick as a non stop ride. Girls could hitchhike also. I would not even think about it today let along pick one up.

Perverts have become more pervasive and who knows how many killers are loose with our liberal judges.

When my rear wheels were in the narrow position. There was not room enough for chains. I switched the wheels side to side to gain clearance. I do not operate hi speed with chains my max speed is about 6-8MPH other wise chains will hit the fender once they come over the top and start down. I do not use bungie straps on chains. Chains must be able to move on the tires, especially the R4 and R1's.

Last year I did not use chains at all. This year with the heavy wet rain soaked snow I could not hardly move. Chains are on the rear only at this time. The clearance on the fronts is not good and I have ripped the tie rod boot but greasing often keeps dirt out.

When I chain all four up it is because of extreme conditions and I am not the least bit concerned about the drive line. There is slippage enough.

As I said B4 I can wind up the driveline tighter doing dirt work with the Backhoe on then I have ever done in the winter on ice and snow.

I have stuck tractor in mud and snow were I could not chain the rears and only chained the fronts to be able to get out (nobody around to pull me out). I am not sure why I would want to run fronts only, unless I had a front wheel drive car.

Dennis I typically use new as posted. During the construction season I tend to have to use the last post thing. Sometimes when CRS has really set in I have to go to all posts.

I do not thhink the last thread needs a year but maybe it does for others.

Try left hand drill bits either turns the screw out or drills offthe head so you can pull the board off the screw. Grab whats left with vise grips.

As of a couple 3 years ago Meteor was still making new blowers.

Did you google for it? The JD dealer had some on the lot. I thought I had a link here. If you have no luck I will stop at the JD dealer and ask.

How about steel cable? I have lots of 1 3/8 that has no broken wires showing. That would give you the rope look and it's stout enough not to flop around if you grab it.

You could paint it with a very heavy coat or 2 of a oil base porch paint.

We live close enough so I would have no problem meeting you someplace around Orange County. Of course would have to look in the big show room there. You could even buy lunch...:-).

It has been a while. I was in and out of it for a couple of years (not regular) when I first foud it, not sure if I registered on old site because of the boogy men that were in the internet hijacking PC's. I remember all the old posts disapeared 1 or 2X once at change over and once with some type of upgrade had to reregister a couple of times.<br>

There have been a lot of names come and gone since then. Too bad you don't have the old files archived somewhere.<br>
Even the "other" tractor site dumped all the old posts when they upgraded once.<br>

I think I tried to get all the way back to my earliest posts one time while I was still on dial up. Seems like at the one point this current version only got back to the early-mid 90's EDIT:(What was I thinkin? DUD! meant 2000's).<br>

I get her practical stuff. She has about every handtool she could ever possibly need and she does not use them. She will hand them to me if I'm working on "HER" car.<br>

A new Rock River AR-15 A-4 with 20" varmint barrel. A new SIG 220 two tone elite. Plus a 1000 rounds for each. She also might want a night vision scope for the AR to hunt coyotes at night. There could be a couple of other things she might need so I'll have to think some more on this.<br>

I always try to get her useful stuff. She did make sure to tell me she did not want a new JD with a cab on it... Go figure. Sometimes I just can't please her...

I looked and found 2 kits 1 for B4 SN# and 1 after SN#.

JD Parts showed them as invalid on my system but that does not mean anything their systems are different.

The Kit#'s are: BM20583 and LVB25568 Side plate mounting kits.

If you have no luck, I'd jump up and down on their counter, I'll look you up the individual parts in the JD Parts area. They should be able to do better than I can.
