I can't quote the weight difference between my four in one bucket and the conventional bucket, but they are somewhat heavier. My tractor came with the third valve so hookup was easy. Mine is a clam type not a grapple but they are someahat similar. Mine is for the 430 loader on the Deere 4310. They are a handy option for grabbing up brush is mostly what I use mine for. When the clam isn't needed I switch to the conventiuonal bucket for dirt, sand, gravel, snow, etc.

Cutter; When you say "Polaris", do you mean snowmobile, fourwheeler, or other machine? Does New York state require a car like title for these? Only vechiles with plate require a title in Iowa. Frank.

Mine will slow down a bit going uphill, but not to that extent, it has two hundred and some hours and has did some grunt work and shows no ill effects yet. Maybe try a new belt and check the clutch adjustments before pulling clutches. The older Gators used to get dirt in the sliding part of the pulley and bind it up with symptoms like you describe. WM; sorry I don't have a picture, but I've saw a couple three point upper links torn in half by a bachnoe, and have heard,(but didn't see)the three point upper bracket torn out of the rear housing on a Farmall 656, (cast iron). The real skinny is that three point backhoes are bad news unless used real gingerly. Frank.

I gave it a nonserious look when they were pushing that program and it seems you gave up a rebate or sometning to get the gas thing. OK, now that Dodge isn't having to help with your gas bill are they going to refund the difference between say 1.75 gas and their 1.99 deal being you gave up a rebate??? I'd tnink Dodge would cheerfully send you a check to keep you in the fold, Call your dealer, I'm sure he would love to discuss the matter.

Dealer we buy from isn't selling much new but lots of used right now. I kinda dibbled into trading pickups, but like someone else said it's still a loosing situation even with all the rebates, etc. Ours are both 07's paid for so I'm sittin still for now.

Being an admitted "Foodaholic" I'm not much attracted to any candys or supersweet stuff, but something like the superdouble bacon thing gets me going. I try to stay away from the "All you can stand" Fish frys, etc.

One son inlaw runs an exhaust and radatior shop. I know he welds duals on new pickups, he doesn't seem to have any problems with the electronics. I don't know if he unhooks or disables them before or not. Frank.

Guess it all boils down to what ever you are comfortable with using. The first Deere compact I had a 4300, used regular Hy-Gard and I do remember the howls and whines of the hyd. pump on cold days pushing snow. My current 4310 has the Lo-Vis and you don't hear all the howls and whines, maybe the pumps are different, but I don't think so, it is just easier for the pump to push the fluid around. I'd rather err on the side of using the Lo-Vis year around than the regular Hy-Gard in cold weather. I really doubt that the difference of say 86 to 96 or whatever temp of outside air really makes much difference, the fluid temp is going to be about the same anyhow. Frank.

As someone mentioned perhaps there is some feed value on your six acres that someone would be willing to cut for hay, even if you just give them the hay for keeping it mowed. This might be a good time to get better aquainted around the neighborhood, perhaps you have a service, a tallent, or just some grunt labor you could trade someone with a mower till you can buy sometning. I'm afraid that anything much less than 5K might be a maintinence pitt that maybe you could do without till you're a bit better on your feet. Frank.

If you are buying a sizeable PTO unit get a three phase, they don't cost that much more. Mine has two 15 amp 120V outles, a 240 20 amp, and a 100 amp three phase outlet.

McDaddy; So long as either of the front wheels are spinning faster than the tractor is moving and you hear no unusual grinding or feel any jerking actions then I'd say nothing is wrong. I've been caught a few times when the same thing happens. Just push yourself out with the bucket and it will be fine.

Joel; There is no foot clutch on a Gator, they work like the old Cushmann Motor scooters. I'd try just letting it idle for a bit before cutting the spark. We have two Deere 345 lawn tractors identical in every way, one you need to let idle for a bit or KABAM, the other one never does backfire. There is no adjustment on the carburetor of the mowers. The M and Super M Farmalls were known for loud backfires if you cut the throttle while slowing down from full raod speed, kinda neat really. Frank.

Oliver; I don't keep up too well on tractor values so I can't offer much there.
As in a lot of our habbits or hobbies, sometimes want over rides need. It sounds like it isn't a need situation in that you are getting the job done as is, but in the end you will have tyo make the payments, so it has to be a decision you are comfortable with.
Lots of ideas are being thrown around by our new administration on the sour economy, but nothing has happend on mainstreet small town Iowa yet to get me to venture too far from the security of just sitting still for now. Economic stimulis also means that revenue needs to flow to keep people employed, but I'm just a bit cold footed yet.

EW; Yes, I tried to enroll at one of those fancy southern schools, but they said they were filled up for the season and my bloodlines didn't quite come up to their standards.

Kt; Funny EW should ask about my furniture finishing just when you need a box. I think I might have just what you need, would a creosote finish be good enough?

It's not been so many years ago that I remember that track system still being offered, I have no idea who sold them. One of our neighbors had one on an old Ford, don't remember what ever happened to it. At one time Ford offered a fold out steel lug system on the outside of the regular rear tires that kinda looked like a wheelweight when it was folded up.
