My 4310 used to do that. Being it was still under warranty the Deere service person cane out and made an adjustment that fixed the problem. As I remember it the adjustment was somewhere in the link between the lever and the valve and wasn't too big a deal. Perhaps someone on the board knows for sure what to adjust or your Deere dealer can tell you. Best of luck. Frank.

Whether rear or front mount there can be a lot of differences in snowblowers. Perhaps one model is a single stage and the other a two stage. My experienc has been that light fluffy snow tends to "Die in the Stream" so to speak, I think because there isn't enough weight in it to maintain velocity, while heavier drifted snow is heavier and tends to have enough inertia to carry its self farther. Yes, sometimes the light fluffy snow tends to push ahead of the auger a bit before it goes in. Just a couple tips from the school of hard knocks. 1) Allways keep your nose to the wind. 2) Don't let the chute be aimed at buildings, cars, and especially windows. Enjoy your day. Frank.

I've had this problem in the past, but it seems to have let up after the moisture in the soil and gravel in the building dry out the first year. If you plan to concret the floor things will get better, but even with concret there will be times in the spring when the floor is cold and the air is warm and moist that the floor will look like it rained in the building. Venting the roof will help a lot too. Best of luck. Frank.

In the past I've hired a couple different fence building firms and both did me a good job and the cost was'nt out of line. Both bought their materials by the semi load direct from the producer thus saving the retail markup. Another nice feature was that you had no half rolls of wire, etc. leftover to deal with and have money tied up in. Take a little time to check them out first, I'm sure there are dishonest operators in that business just as in any other business. Best of luck. Frank.

Ibrown, I've never built a boom mower but have allways dreamed of one too. I've looked at the one the county uses, it must be a high dollar machine with all the hydraulics to control the boom plus the hydraulic systerm to run the cutter, it's also on a pretty good sized tractor with lots of wheel weights on the oposite side of the cutter. I've backed off now to dreaming of a less complicated, lighter 3pt. mounted frame and 90 degree gear box to mount a conventional 3pt. rotary cutter that would produce a full cut just outside of the rear tractor wheel track. My thought is that I could mow aprox. 5 ft. of the ditch bank from the road and if the slope is longer mow the rest from the ditch bottom. Just another one of my dreams, some work, some don't. Any comments are welcome. Frank.

Don H. Your comment that the noise occurs when driving on uneven ground makes me wonder if the pivot pin that connects the frame of your tractor to the front axle may be your problem. just a thought. Frank.

Jeff, long as your tractor hyd. system has adequate pressure to operate the splitter I can't se why it would strain the system any more thn running the loader for an hour. The spec's on the splitter should tell you how much pressure is required. Flow rate of your system really don't matter that much, a low flow rate just means it will take a little longer to push the ram out to it's full stroke, it's all about pressure. I know that since electronic ignition came along it was the salvation of the single cylinder engines, they start now days. I still have such a bitter taste in my mouth from fighting those things that I don't even want to see one that does start. Far as engine speed, the higher the RPM's the higher your hyd. flow rate should be, I'm kind of comparing to my 4310/48 hoe, about 2/3 throttle seems about right Frank.

I once saw a man who jacked up one rear corner of a pickup, took the wheel off then bolted one of those things to the hub and was splitting wood with it. It did split wood rather well, but I could'nt believe that anyone in good concience would sell such a death trap. Please destroy that thing before you are killed or badly injured with it. Frank.

Ibrown59; I guess by todays standards most everyone in our neighborhood when I was a kid would have been considered below the poverty level but we were happy, never missed a meal, never was cold. Most everything we ate came from the garden or was butchered at home. I don't remember not having a telephone, but I do remember the REA coming thru with a power line, and getting "Indoor Plumbing" when I was about 16. (my dad would'nt use it at first he said it wasn't necessary.) But I guess one of my fondest memories was the food, no "store bought" pie crust, it was made with real lard, Canned meat, fried down pork, fresh chicken, and of corse real butter and real cream on our oatmeal. Wow, I'm getting hungry. Oh, and dad smoked "Talor Mades" on Sundays and rolled his own the reat of the week. Even tho we cant escape the troubles and turmoils of todays world, those memories give us "Old Folks" some comfort now and then. Frank.

Denwood; Throttle position tells the governor located in the injection pump the RPM you want the engine to run. The governor then regulates the amount of fuel injected to maintain that speed under changing load conditions. the higher the load to keep your desired RPM the more fuel it injects. If throttle position alone regulated the speed of the engine the RPM's would be nearly impossible to keep at a desired level. Watch the acellerator pedal in your car when you have the speed control in use, you'll notice it changing positions as more or less fuel is needed to maintain the speed you have it set for, so kinda the same principle. Far as coasting down hills, I doubt you would save enough fuel to offset the dangers that coasting can present. Frank.

I've never saw a 47 hoe, so I can't judge them. My 48 hoe came on a 4300 and is now on a 4310. I have no idea how many hours of use the hoe has had but it does an amazing amount of work for it's size and I've never had any of the problems mentioned here. Frank.

There are lots of good impliments around, but because of a good dealer and good performance form the product I'm pretty much a Land Pride person. I don't have experience with anywhere near all of there equipment, but so far with a tiller, landscape rake, box scraper, and rear mount finish mower, I've not been dissapointed.

Just wondering if any of you have a static electicity problem with a portable vac? Once in a while it will snap me pretty good. My permanat vac system has a copper wire inside the tubes that is grounded so I don't have a problem with it. thanks. Frank.

RogerMo; I don't think adding weight to your blade will do much good. If you're sure you got all the old carpet and plastic a rear mount tiller would be ideal to loosen up the soil. If there is still some carpet left you'll have a hard time with the tiller wraping. Also a rear box blade with the scarifier teeth should tear the hard soil up. The box blade teeth will also catch the old carpet, but not be near the problem it would with the tiller. Good luck. Frank.

Flail mowers are probably built lots better than 30 yrs. ago, but I had one from that time and rocks were the biggest problem, I don't remember the brand anymore, but I was broke down more than I was mowing. Best of luck. Frank.

Mike,I'm not familiar with your brand of tractor, but only taking for granted that most any brand would have some internal linkages. Perhaps someone on the board with a tractor similar to yours or a dealer tech who may read of your delema can offer better advice, but if it's only a few bolts holding a cover under the seat I'd have a look. I don't own a 2210, but from what I've heard they have proven to be a good tractor and a quite popular model. I've also heard Deere is coming with a replacement for it. I always am a bit shy of buying a new model that replaces a proven machine, I'd go for the 2210. So far as pricing, I'm sure the new model will cost more Best of luck. Frank.

Oliver; There may be some correct way, but I did just as you are doing with an old boat trailer, I just cut the tounge off to leave enough to keep from hiting the pickyp in a sharp turn. It allways seemed easier to me to back up a longer toungue than a short one, short ones seem to turn too quickly, so maybe don't get it too short. Frank.

I think it was the 57 that offered some sort of a fuel injection system, I don't remember that it was offered for very long, so that might be a rare find too. My first guess would have been the 53 also, it seems the first year of most anything seems to be the most collectable. I'm not in the market but I'm sure a mint 53 would call for mega bucks. Frank.
