I have edited pictures down to 20kb and do not seem to be able to upload. My only success was a picture I had of myself that I had reduced to 1.98kb and of course when it uploaded to the board was small. As you can see from my pictures, only the top portion of number seven made it. The other ones are reduced far more than I wanted them to be, but I was able to install them awhile back.

That is an interesting thought. I had a cutting edge on my NH but it was not offered with the Kubota. Art, what is available for the 5' 2910 bucket? BTW Art, I saw some of your machines at the Empire Farm days but did not stumble across you. There was one particular vendor selling a hydraulic quick attach for the three point that was using a machine with your label on it as well.

Glad to hear it is not an emotional drain doc. I have done nothing with the scattergun. Have been using my Stoeger O/U and not doing too badly for limited time to shoot.

Had last week off and spent it digging ice storm stumps and a 400' trench for electric to my barn (rented a mini excavator). Cleaned up by Monday night and was at the Empire Farm days Tuesday morning. Will be back on the range Thursday night with any luck, missing my usual three or four per round. Catch you later.

I am again in the situation of needing a backhoe.I have 400' of trench to dig and numerous stumps left from the ice storm damage to contend with. The local rental agency gets $205 per day for a mini excavator and a bit less for a small backhoe/loader. That works out to about $500 for my needs this time, including trailer rental. Since there are always jobs around here for which I could use that type of implement, I was wondering what the cost might be to purchase one for my Kubota. I have been looking around for a used machine, best I have found so far is a 70's era Ford, open cab with loader and hoe at a cost of $7500. A couple of years ago I passed up a newer model J/D with full cab that had been reconditioned (painted) for the same money. I believe it was a former municipality unit that had been purchased at auction or on a bid and was being resold for a profit. I still may go that direction, depending upon the cost of the implement for my machine and the ease of removal/installation as well as the compatibility with my 72" belly deck frame.

Stopped at the Sears repair center this noon. I picked up two complete unloader valve assemblies for $11 each. I figured if the first one made it a year before the problems really started showing I should have at least one spare.

I am still convinced the machine never operated at full pressure but just short of that and by the way, the name on the parts bag is Generac. Thanks for all the advise.

Thanks Doc, that is what I thought. I tried that one on the wife and it is just too awkward for her, hoping to be able to do something since I now have a usable piece. I may see what I can get for it at the club and then use the proceeds.

State of mind is putting it kindly. A sub culture that resides within many US cities that is devoid of any value toward human life, or for that matter any values at all.

I guess that is why I like visiting Canadian cities, different atmosphere. Although I understand the outlaw biker gangs have caused problems.

I'm grateful for the help Doc. I have Monday off, so worst case I can do it then. I was traveling with an avid sportsman last week, we had some good stories to share to pass the miles away. He hunts with a bow as well, got eight deer during the one day thinning held by a nearby town a couple of years ago. It is performed under a nuisance permit granted by the state due to the destruction caused by these animals in that area. All the meat goes to a venison program to feed the poor and elderly. He said he would not do it again, felt guilty as it was like shooting ducks in a barrel. I have been in that area numerous times, the residents have to put fences around every plant they don't want destroyed. There are 200+ car-deer accidents a year in the area so it is one of those things that creates a ton of controversy between the animal rights groups and the people that live there.

Congratulations on your purchase. First time I let one of my boys run the TC29 I had he hit a rock with the belly mower. That's the problem with an inexperienced young person on a new machine in unfamiliar terrain. But that is also the only way they can learn.

The Kubota 2400 would give you a bit more power than the 4100 and would be about as small as I would want for landscape/loader work. I owned a 4100, nice tractor but I thought it a bit underpowered and front end heavy with the loader attached. I like the R-4 rubber, but there is a downside to everything, check the prior threads there are plenty on tires.

Just personal preference, but I did not care for the J/D belly mower either. It is not a full floating deck and does not mow as nice as the Kubota or N/H on uneven ground.

I use an engine (cherry picker) hoist to move that kind of thing around now. I recall the last time I attached mine, it was stored on my trailer prior to the barn being built. I lifted it out with the loader and wrestled with it for quite some time. It now sits on blocks in the corner of my barn, but I have an old four wheeled outboard engine stand I have been eyeballing for possible conversion.
