Speed Queen still has the SS tub on both washer and dryer and has metal gears rather than plastic in the transmission. Wife loves the machines. Sears uses Whirlpool for the top loader, at least they used to and were great machines. The front loaders are rebadged Frigidaire and perhaps some others now.

Having been in the car business for a time, I would say your best bet is to buy the warranty and to negotiate the cost. Huge markup in MOST of them. Subaru seems to be lower in cost and refunds the price it you don't use it.

Realistically, it is a coin toss as to whether or not you will need the thing but as already stated, it is like insurance.

My brother in law has a Honda hybrid that does not achieve the mileage our Subaru does. And he does not have all wheel drive.

That mark is almost impossible to hit. I did exactly the same thing when I changed mine, found the fluid to be excessive after I ran the machine so parked it overnight to cool. Drained some the next day to hit the mark, ran the machine again and it was too low. Put some more in, ran the machine and it was too high again. Left it too high by about half an inch or so.

EW, I'll bet it's the guy trying to get rid of the 7 hour tractor he wants to contact. Seems odd, only 7 hours on it and he mows with a 6' deck, must be one small lawn.

Loved the 2000 Tacoma I had, fun truck and great ground clearance. I think they made a mistake when they made them larger, too much competition out there in that size range and they gave up the advantage of a compact truck.

Way behind here, still have the 10' dish. Cable came through a few years ago so we hooked to the RR internet and use the TV in the bedroom with the basic service.

That's why they make different kinds :)

Personally, I hate mowing with a gear drive and loader work is more difficult, however I have done plenty of it with an old Ford gear drive and two lever bucket control.

I'll take my 580 with the shuttle any day for that work.

You all struck a chord with me here. My experiences an most of those places is, never mind, I'll drive home rather than stop and eat at one.

Dirty, terrible food and overpriced. My new job takes me all over the state, I pack my food in a big cooler type lunch box. Not because I am cheap either, I have a corporate card to use on the road. Simply put, I don't care to throw the dice with my health.

I am learning where the clean, local joints are located. Had one old tavern owner that was cook and waitress during the lunch crowd (all two of us) impress the heck out of me. What a great meal, huge hand made ground round burger and home cut fries....

I may have some left in the barn, I will check as I don't recall what it was called. It is NH oil and the dealer I purchased it from is Jennings in Fairport 585 223 4056, so give them a call and the parts man can tell you.

I would be willing to bet that Amsoil makes something compatible as well.

Nice job with the numbers! I could easily become a vegetarian but the wife would have nothing to do with it. So I go the opposite way and have been back on Atkins since the first of the year.

I did Atkins five years ago, lost almost fifty pounds and then maintained my weight for three more years. Once I went off Atkins and started eating starches again, I gained twenty pounds in less than two years.

No matter what the diet, my cholesterol goes up and down with the actual pounds I gain or lose. Same with my BP and blood sugar. After trying so many different diets over the years my belief is that low body fat and regular exercise are the key to good health. How you get there is fairly irrelevant as long as your intake of nutrients is up to par.

If it looks anything like mine Dennis, the gravel driveway has taken its toll on the fan and chute relative to paint. All it took was a few miscalculations when the ground was not completely frozen to turn the thing into a machine gun :)

Good going Randy!!

I had a black belt in smoking, quit cold turkey in 1990 and can't stand to be around it now. No desire, none.

For me, the toughest part was getting through the first month and then mostly if I had a legal beverage with friends. When I am around smokers I think "did I used to smell like that?".

Be prepared to lose some friends. Once the wife and I quit we restricted smoking to our breezeway, that unfortunately prompted some people to quit visiting us. We visit them but rarely, can't stand the house full of smoke.

Keep up the good work, your body will thank you!
