I did not realize you were referring to the Cummins either, sorry for the confusion. I knew the HD axles in those vehicles were Dana and have not heard of any problems with them.

I would not recommend the loader blade. The Curtis is way overpriced for what you get, so as Murf indicates build your own if you need one. I sold mine for several hundred less than I paid for it after little use. I now use just the loader and rear blade.

I found several things about a loader blade I do not like. It stresses the loader arms, digs into a stone driveway like crazy, if you use the float feature very little load causes the front wheels to loose steering capability,limits your ability to push the tractor out of a hole as well as placing a great deal of weight on the loader at all times.

If you want to spend money, but a three point blower.

If I recall, you received a similar call the afternoon we met. I can't even hide on my boat, the darn thing is always there. But then...the battery dies, darn the rotten luck!

Isn't that Pro-shop something? I stopped there after a safety presentation I attended in Auburn. Talk about a fun place to work in retirement.

That is similar to mine except I have the integrated unit. If memory serves, I paid 350 for it on sale. No more Central Tractor around here to get those bargains.

Thirteen seasons on my 5' BH Squealer. Kept outside until the barn was completed four years ago, very little negative effect on it. I bought the clutch to protect the gear box, extra hundred or so at the time. Seems I paid around eight or nine hundred at the time.

I can only imagine. Someone trying to take care of their health is exposed because someone else did not bother to do their job. I would think these hospitals would have specific equipment for people with immune disease so there is no chance of passing it along.

I would say the reason for that particular nomenclature is that they drive "all" the time in "all" wheel drive. They are actually similar to the '78 Dodge Power Wagon I owned.If the transfer case was not locked in, an internal differential allowed slippage between the front and rear drive-shafts. The tires never chopped up, there was no excessive steering torque, it was absolutely great for all weather driving, and the system was bulletproof.

The fuel consumption on mine was 12/16, the same as my 2002 2500 with the same motor. Unfortunately, too many ignorant people complained that they could not disconnect the front axle so Dodge dropped it (along with the fact that the transfer case was more expensive). I even saw some kits that converted the truck to a conventional four wheel drive but the axle still turned, folks did not like that either.

I would buy one today if it were available in that same configuration. Well...it is sort of, just happens to be in my outback.

My brother in law uses a bow and arrow, works well in confined spaces too. I have one here now that has survived two winters, the rest in the fields are all the neighbor cats. I leave it alone, it is a survivor and kills the mice around here but tends to spray the doors on occasion as it battles for territory with my cat.

I have more of a problem with the skunk and raccoon.

It sure is great being missed! You folks all know how to make someone feel welcome.

I am not gone, just been terribly busy with job, house restoration and boat refurbishing. Will have the boat ready and in the water this spring finally, after four years of robbing hours here and there to work on her. Had the canvas installed last month, cushions and curtains being made this month.

I lost my dad in April of '03, mother over Christmas, almost lost sister-in-law just after that and two weeks ago my wife broke her ankle. I can't keep up with it all, feel pretty much overwhelmed most of the time. Just keep telling myself things will improve.

What impresses me most is that I don't know any of you personally yet you treat me as family here. What a fine web-site Dennis has!

Thanks Harvey. I have one on the Allis leaking as well, thought the process would be about what you said. I will probably wait until warmer weather now, loader not in use as much.

I know what you mean Art! I have rotor cup problems in both arms but primarily in the right. If I am careful I can do most anything but when I abuse it I am in pain for a time. Pulling on a rope too much really strains it, that is why I am waiting for the boy to stop here before trying it.

If you recall, last winter I posted a question about my brother in law's snow blower. I made the mistake of yanking on that rope too much while working on it, ouch.

I changed the oil in my Arctic Cat 500 ATV yesterday. That fill plug is in such a terrible spot and made of plastic. I have had it out twice and it is already destroyed due to it being so tight in the casting. I can't believe it is supposed to be that way, calling the dealer today.

Thanks Doc! I still stop by and read from time to time and occasionally post. Spent the entire year working on my boat as time allowed. Have not been conputering as much but making great progress on it. Nice looking Kubota 4x4 by the way.

Had a similar problem when my TC29 was delivered. I parked it in my garage and went to Vegas the next day. It failed to start upon my return so dealer came and repaired that problem. I noticed a spot of oil on the floor on the right side shortly after but could not find a leak. I found the leak when I went to use it, sprayed out a hydraulic fitting for the bucket curl cylinder. Check all the fittings for moisture. Don't do it with the machine running unless you have heavy gloves on.

I know that feeling of frustration. I did not have the best of luck with mine, did not want to own it once out of warranty but cost me 3k for that piece of mind. Not to mention mine was SS so it initially cost more than the 2910 I traded it for.

Keep at them and perhaps they will make it right for you. I would suspect if this happened twice there is an underlying reason. The statement Art made about a recall may help you, it indicates an issue with them. I can tell you, I am pleased with the reliability of the Kubota but miss the better ergonomics of my 29D. Understand it is being updated, may make the difference.

A friend of mine is a carpenter. He has an angle finder that looks very similar to the products on the web-link provided here on page one. It has a heavy magnet on the base that would allow it to stick to about any spot on a Kubota. Could check angles in any direction and once you have qualified your property it has an alternate use :>.

I have been looking for a good walk behind mower to trim where the Kubota can't. I tried a Gravely belt 48" and it is a great machine but travels too fast in low gear for all the tree trimming I have to do. I assume all the belt drives will have the same problem. Hydro is too expensive for what I want. Any ideas on a good compromise? I have a couple of areas that are hilly and don't want to have to fight the machine to travel straight as I do my swivel wheel Ariens nor do I want to muscle the thing around every tree. I missed a used hydro at a dealer down south that was 1k with four years of use. I called the day after I heard about it and it was already sold!

My company ride is a 2002 Ranger 4x4. It replaced my '98 S10 that in my opinion was a much better truck. The Chevy had a more comfortable interior, better ride, better fuel economy, was more user friendly and in 100k miles the only repairs were two sets of front wheel bearings and a control module for the intermittent wipers.

This Ranger knocks when you start it, the interior is all cheap and cheesy plastic, the radio buzzes when the heater blower is running, it bucks and rolls when you hit a pothole, the motor growls when you accelerate and is overall a piece of cheap tin. Keep in mind, my personal vehicle is a Ram 2500, so I have no reason to be biased to either the Ford or Chevy.
