Can anyone help me with a problem that started today on my C174 tractor. I was running a cultivator off the 3 point linkage and after about an hour I started to have trouble with traction and found that the front wheel drive is not working. <br>
Whether I select 2 whell drive or 4 wheel drive only the rear wheels are driving. I lifted the front wheels off the ground and it is as if they are in neutral.<br>
The trans oil looks very good and clean although the level is a little down on the dipstick.<br>
Can someone tell me what type of oil I should use?? The trans is a hydrastatic 3 speed type. If the oil is a little bit low could it cause this problem?<br>
Looking underneath the tractor there is no apparent problem. verything is connected, there is no noticeable oil leaks. If anyone has any hints about what to do, where to look I would appreciate it.<br>

I'll have to see if any local companies can make a gasket with a compression ring for each cylinder. The one I had made before did not have this ring hence why it burnt through
How much did it cost you to get one made? (if that is not a rude question)

For those people that offered advice thanks.
The tractor is back from the workshop and has no problems with drive now.
They found a damaged impellor in the transmission oil pump and once this was replaced all is fine.
