I had a fence row surrounding an old hay field that I cleared out. My buddy had a skidding winch and came over to help move trees and logs. After 1 day of several near mishaps, partly due to our inexperience, i told him thanks but no thanks.

I was using my bobcat skidsteer with a heavy duty grapple on the front. I used it to pick the logs and pull them out of the piles to cut and then clean up the brush to burn.

That skidding winch scared me a little. Be careful. When a log moves under that kind of pressure it moves quick and you never know the exact direction it will jump.

Can someone offer any advise on removing the blade bar on a woods m5-4 rotary cutter? I have the manual from woods but I appears the entire project will rest on how hard it will be to get the blade bar off. I have a leaking bottom seal. I am planning on taking the gearbox off to replace bearings and the seal. <br>

As I know I will be fighting years of resistance on the bar,, does anyone have any tricks or helpful hints to use when I am fighting rust and a stuck blade bar. Thanks

Still on my Woods cutter. A couple of questions.

1. Can a blown seal be pushed back in without taking off the blade bar? I have established my crankcase did not have a vent plug but a solid bolt in its place.

2. If I have to take off the blade bar,, how bad does it suck and any helpful hints when I tackle it? Any special tools? My intention is that when and if I do it, I will lay cutter on its side to be able to get at it better and safer.
