i have a jd790 with 419fel and my son welded hooks on the top of the fel. we placed one in line with the arms on each<br>
side. we have bent both sides. my friend at the dealer said we should have re-inforced the top. should we put a pipe under the lip of the fel or cut off the hooks and put angle iron on top of the fel then replace the hooks? which way is best? thanks.

Thanks for the information. It is very difficult to find anything out on the terra-plane. I just found out that he ordered the terra-plane with frontend loader and backhoe today. Just FYI, i have a 790 jd that i really enjoy. I have a good friend that is the head of the jd service department that is 27 miles from us. Thanks again.

I have had my 790 since september and have really enjoyed using it. plain jane but it will do the job. all my friends want to borrow it all the time so it must be ok. so far...brush hogging, dirt removal, tree limb moving, gravel leveling, box blading, posthole digging, staking burning brush piles....etc. works great.

Hey plots, you made a good choice, i have had mine for 4 months and just spent all weekend working with it. one bit of advice to the wise. if you weld chain hooks on the top of the fel be sure and re-inforce the area. i lifted an elm tree trunk and forgot to roll the fel and just lifted with the chain on the hooks and bent the top of my fel a little.

I have used my 790 for 4 months now. I keep the fel on all of the time. It is handy when brush hogging to move tree limbs and other materals out of the way. It is great when moving dirt or gravel with a box blade. I tilt the fel down and back drag sometimes. I have the quick release on the
fel but it works just as well to leave it on, Just plan on turning corners a little sooner.

Just thought i would let you know. I have had my new 790 with r4 tires and 419 fel since october 2002. I have 17 acres and use it for brushhogging and clearing limbs and any thing else i can think of. It is really a nice machine a little close but i like having all the controls at hand. I think you will be very happy with your choice. Good Luck!

just had my 790 4X4 with 419 fel and r4 tires delivered last week. WOW, what a machine. i have been brush hogging for the last 3 days. moving limbs with the fel and moving on. thanks to the excellent help from the articles on the board i think i have made a great choice for my 18 acres.

just joined the board, but have been reading for the last 2 weeks. great information. i am going tomarrow to look at the jd 790 with r4 tires,joy stick and new 419 fel. dealer says he wants $14,750.00, how does that sound?
