I am a neewbie to tractors but after reading comments and experiences on this forum and others, I bought a used John Deere 1050 (80's) about a year ago which seemed to be in reasonable shape. I used it this year with a used bush hog and realized the 'right lift link' lever that allows leveling rear attachments (right to left) was not working.<br>

The local dealer says a new part is about $350, to fix is about $175. Is it possible to find used parts like this and where? Or, should I just go ahead and get it fixed? I don't really have the time (and maybe not knowledge) to fix it myself.<br>

Along the same lines, what repair manual do folks recommend? I see the I&T Repair Manuals available on-line. Are these good or would it be better to get a John Deere manual?
