I have a little over 36 acres, and decided to go with the B7610 w/LA352 FEL and filled R-4's. I would pay the little bit of difference for this over the B7510 tractor for the bigger loader and 3hp 21>24. I wished it was a B7800 or L2800/3400 series moving logs sometimes, but I manage and the ground clearance when working in the woods (my land is hilly, and I ford small creeks) is where the B series realy shines over the terrific BX tractors. The full Cat 1 capability is nice as well. My two cents worth as a first time tractor owner.

I have a B7610 which is 3hp more than yours, but otherwise the same. A heavy 5', large volume box will be a bit much from actual experience. I have filled R4 tires and a front end loader and a 5' Bush Hog 60" box (490#) is all I can handle. Without front end ballast (FEL) and loaded rears tires, I couldn't pull it very well at all. You will lose traction before power, believe me. The problem is the 48" will not cover your rear tire treads. You need 54" unless you move in your rear tires, which I would not do for stability reasons. I know Land Pride makes a 54" and I heard JD does also. Or I would look for a lower internal volume 60" box. They vary so much in weight and internal volume, side plate thickness, moldboard ht etc. <br>

The 48" Woods BB48 is a superior grade box, although pretty heavy. Load your rear tires and have at least 3 suitcase weights up front if you don't have a FEL. Kubota makes a kit to add two additional suitcase weights since the front end only holds three as is, you will benefit from that w/o FEL. Go in 4wd low range and grade away.<br>

If cost is a consideration, I would use the $250 certificate and get the 5' KK box from TSC, it is fairly light and the box volume isn't as much as a comparable Woods. For light duty use, it should work fine. Don't forget the ballast!

Ouch! That is expensive! I'll just use my B7610 in my garden instead. Don't understand why they (Cub) doesn't make a $200 sleeve hitch like Sears does for their "Garden Tractors" so you can use light duty garden inplements at a reasonable price. Thanks Art.

ShortMagnum is right her. THe center of the bucket is the weakest point. I have seen many bent buckets because the center hook was not welded on without putting a stongback on the bucket top first. Just a chock behind the lip will not be sufficient for heavy loads. The strongback should be longitudinally across the back of the bucket top to transfer the load. I work as a Structural Design Supervisor in Newport News Shipbuiding, and am very familiar with structural supports. If you are only going to have two hooks, (one on each bucket top end)just sling the load w/5/16" proof coil chain between them to equalize the load. I have picked up stumps like this with no problem or loader arm twisting.

In picture #6, what kind of quick detach system do you have on you lower link ends? Does it require bushings for implements? (It doesn't appear so) Where did you get it and what did it cost? Is it easy to hook up with? I would like one very much if it is simple to use. I have a 2004 B7610w/352 FEL. I deal with Davis-Merchant Kubota in Powhatan, Va. on RT60. Great folks there.<br>

I noticed that your top link did not appear to be connected to your 5' bush hog, is that true? I could only see chains in the picture. I didn't know you could do that. How do you tilt it up?<br>

Thanks, I am cosicering the SPEEDCO myself for my B7610. What tractor do you have yours on? Your write up makes ir sound more complicated than I am sure it is. I have a Woods Brushbull 48" rotary cutter, and it is the only PTO driven implement I currently own/use. I wouldn't want to have shaft problems with this. I have a 6' Kodiak rake, 6' Woods RB72 rear scraper blade and a Bush Hog SBX60 5' box blade. How much are the bushings for each implement? I want to make sure it is well worth the investment. Thanks.

It works on the 3000 series because it has power steering(hence hydraulic capability). I have a 2518 myself, if you come up with anything, please let me know.<br>

Does anyone make a "old school" sleeve hitch to use on a current Cub 2500 series? I haven't been able to find one and my dealer is dumbfounded. Heck, Sears offers them for their GT5000 "Garden Tractor's", why doesn't Cub?

You should be bushogging, not mowing this. It would tear up a MMM. From your description at least. I have went through some pretty terrible stuff on my R4 tires, you should be fine. Once again, don't bush hog with a MMM or finish mower, buy a quality rotary cutter. If this property is 12 acres to cut, I would look at an L series with a 6' bush hog, or at the least a B7800 or B2910 size with a 5' bush hog depending on how often you are going to cut it. You could do it in a long day with either. Seat time is good though... I like bushogging anyway.

To me, the most significant difference would be the "position control" the 2910 has vs. the 1/4 inching valve" the 7800 has on the 3pt. The other little items aren't a big deal. If yoiu aren't going to grade much, it won't matter to you. If you are, buy the 2910 unless you can get Beagle to fix it up like he did his. I wish he could come to Va. and fix my B7610 with his device for position control. I am having to constantly look over my shoulder while grading whenever I have to reset the box blade. I have a good feel for it now, but it is still a pain. The B7800 tractor is awesome however, wished I had bought it for running a larger 5' bush hog.

I am pulling a 60" w/my B7610 (24hp) with loaded R-4's and LA352 FEL. With proper ballast, you will have no problems. Need sufficient weight up front also. The boxes vary a lot in weight, sideplate thickness, moldboard height and internal volume. Check all of that out, they are not equal.

I bought a BushHog SBX60" box scraper for my B7610 which has a little more power than yours. It was more than it wanted until I filled the R4 tires and put a FEL up front. Fine now. Smaller bites are impossible pulling stone over distance. It will fill up the box. Use 4wd and low range. If your tractor starts to bog down, don't press the pedal in all the way, keep your rpms up around 25-2600 and feather the pedal, mashing it will work the machine harder and it will pull less wieght. That is how HSD works, not like a car or truck.

I have a B7610 and bent the factory top link pushing snow (hit concrete barrier!). The Kubota dealer said it would cost $100! He showed me one identical to yours in the picture (except longer) that he ground to fit my tractor and it cost me $23 and is much, much easier to adjust (no wrenches) and much stronger. It doesn't have a zerk fitting, but white lithium spray seems to work fine. If they had replacement lower link arms that adjusted this easy also, I would change mine out. I think the top link is made in India.

I agree with the box size. I have a new 24HP B7610 and while pulling a SBX60" BushHog box blade, I would lose traction while half full with stone or dirt. I had three suitcase weights up front, and until I loaded the rear tires with water/antifreze, no traction. What a difference ballast made! I have stone overfilling the box top and still pulling in low range 4wd just fine. I just added a LA352 FEL, that helped quite a bit more, these CUT are quite impressive. Ballast is the key period if you have sized your implements correctly you will lose traction first if not properly ballasted, not power. "DOC Kubota" made these recommendations to me, and he is very knowledgable.
