I had not thought of using galvanized brackets. That would work nicely if I end up cutting the tops off the trees. I guess I'm not as far along in the planning stage as I thought I was.

I apologise if this message should not be on this forum. I have a John Deere LX178 that I use for mowing. My yard is very rough at this point. The JD blades don't hold up, the ends split. I can't use a bushhog this close to the house and so I must use the 178 to mow with for another year or two until I get the finished lawn put in. Does anyone make and/or sell heavier duty blades that I can put on the LX178? I have not yet taken a blade to the local farm store to check their stock. I guess this is the next step. Thanks for any information.

Mark I think that Toyota Motor Corp. might be interested to know how their vehicles are regarded by this rental firm. I think it might be interesting to write a letter to them outling your experience and see what happens.

Faced with the need to do some grading work I decided in favor of a boxblade with teeth over a grader blade. Having used it some in buiding my driveway I think I made the right decision. It is made out of pretty heavy steel, although I don't know what it weighs. In the Ozark rocky ground it is the teeth that make the difference. They will dig up/cut through hard clay and allow the boxblade do its work. If I had a bigger tractor hydraulic down pressure would be great, but with the Ford 1910 the teeth on the boxblade make the difference.

It sounds like I might as well continue to live with the short comings of the R1s I have as compared to the R4s that I don't have. Thanks for the perspectives.

When you say lift mode, do you mean actually raising the 3ph at the same time as actuating the fel or am I missing something here?
