Rock salt thrown in the fire box will also loosen creosote in stove pipe or flue. Don't recomend useing this method in fire place as it pops an flies around quite a bit. This seems to work as perodic maintance. I still climb up on the roof with the old log chain at least once a year. Makes me sleep better Good luck . Getrdun

I saw the new Kubota at the Lawn trade show in St. Louis in Nov. looked like quite the vehicle (well built like all of Kubotas stuff) The sales person told me the price would be around $9000 to $110000 But looked to me to be a better an heavier built machine than the Polaires or mule. I wish they would have been out last year when I bought my Vinson. Happy an Healthy New Year to all Geterdun

My father tell a story I've got to share; Seems his grandfather refused to use the new tractor his dad bought, much prefered his team. but after much badgering agreed to take the tractor to the house at the end of a very long day , My father said he heard his grandfather say whoa, whoaaa WHooa WHOAAAA, WHOOOOAAA YOU S.O.B. As he an the new FORD came through the back of the barn an in to the lot. Getrdun

Gary I've got shop manuals on the WD an newer tractors but honestly I'm not sure if they used the same extermal control valve or not?? Mine has adjustments for the front mounted cultivator an also a screw in valve for rate of drop on the two seperate lines which when using the cultivator you actually turn the one cylinder around an it lifts the front before the rear, There are diffrent linkages you have to switch for use on diffrent imps. Does the WC have the Traction Booster on it? If not I'm almost sure they are diffrent. But if I can be of any help I'll let me know Getrdun.

Chief, That is quite a accomplishment considering 27 cm is almost 11" deep. I think someone must have been in the injection pump on that big Case IH . Had to have been a huge, long field.<br>
I remember as a kid we farmed apx. 1400 acres with a JD4020 with 5-16's an a JD2020 which pulled 3-16's an we litterally plowed for weeks. That rig could have done it all in about 3 days , amazing. Now days here in Missouri anyway the only time we use a mowboard plow is to plow terraces. Any more they hardly bring scrap price at auctions. Farming has sure changed in the last 10-15 years.<br>
I recall seeing a show that featured a extremely large one of a kind tractor that they were useing in , I believe Montana. This thing made the comercial 4x4 look like tonka toys I'll search for a web site. Getrdun<br>

Jim I too looked at the Toyota when recently purchasing a new work truck. I have all the faith in the world in my 1986 toyota 165,000 miles an still going strong. you could through a cat threw the side of it,as rust has got the better of it. I recently Hauled a 100 landscape timbers in it,(you should have seen the boy's at LOWES) I've hauled 4 well rounded loads of dirt in the last 2 days. If they would just build a 10,000 to 12,000 GVW truck with 300hp an at least that much toqure I'd a bought one. I love my 2500HD Chevy with the Allison no complaints at 7700 miles but I'll bet it gives more trouble than my Toyota did in the next 157,300 miles. There is always a chance as Nissan is suppose to be coming out with a 300hp+ 9500 GVW truck by the first of the year or by Feb. We can only hope Getrdun

The man I bought my tractor from had one of these (SCREW-IT-UP-SPLITERS) mounted on a frame to go in the lift arms on the tractor an PTO. When I asked him how it worked he mumbled a few things I couldn't decipher, an quickly changed the subject. I call it a screw it up because I'm sure thats what it would do to my back. Also in the video that man must have looked a long time for a piece of wood with that straight of grain. the way that stuff popped I think I could split 1/2 cord with a double bit axe an never have to bend over, in the time it would take to bolt it on an jack up the truck. I'd like to see it split a piece of Hackberry or Red elm . The only thing I can see it would be handy for would be a set of 4 would keep people from crowding you when they pass . Just joking I'll stick to my axe an mall Getrdun

I should have been a little clearer. What i actually need is a machine, called an manufactured by Billy Goat that vacums up debris chops or shreds it an them blows it, in my case hopefully in to the front of a 24' enclosed trailer. An out again into a compost pile. I'm spending way to much time loading an unloading debris (grass clippings an leafs) We can get it to the trailer fast enough but have to dump sweeper on a tarp an drag it in the trailer. I seem to be the only one that can back the sweep into the trailer an I really need to be doing other things. Thanks Getrdun www.billygoat.com

Thanks Pete I guess I should put the belly mower on an try it before I try to sell it. I use the tractor mostly for final grade work an seed bed prep. Have a little JD the wife likes to mow with, got the best of both worlds there, I don't have to mow an it keeps her of my Cub. I had been looking for a 30 to 45hp Kubota but I couldn't pass up the deal I got on the 7275 an since I've used it quit a bit I'm very impressed with it the hyd. on the loader are an like you said very healthy front axle. I'll check for loose bolts on the frame. Finally got owners, shop an engine manuals on the way. I'll sleep better after I've done a once over myself Getrdun

Peters I wish I'd paid closer attention, but the one's I've seen in my area apeared to have been made by Gleaner with the galvinized look. Here in central Mo. we have a lot of seed companys that do a lot of small test plots, an I've seen these little combines being hauled on a 16'car trailer. Were in the middle of harvest around here I see one runing I stop an gather some info. Getrdun

I think you will find every one has there own preference as saws go. As do I, if your going to use it once a year or once every two years it really doesn't matter. But if you want a saw you can always count on starting an running when you need it (not when you get it back from the saw shop) spend the extra buy the STHL. I've had 5 STHLS 3 of which have cut over 300 cord an never required more than regular maintance. If your not cutting any thing large the 26 model is very good all round saw for power to weight. Good luck on what ever you by. But if I ever need a pacemaker I hope STHL makes one:]

Josh As far as the length of the grass goes it is as the others have said. The only thing I can add is don't cut it an then start your project as fresh cut grass is the most vulnerable, if you cut it wait at least two to three days ( or till tip of grass blade turns brown or skabs over) before subjecting it to traffic. The blue poly tarps do make clean up alot easier. Good luck
