Thanks guys. I read your related thread, Chief, after I posted. It sounds like perhaps you got yours mail order? I'm wondering if you can provide a source? When I Googled up block heater, all I got was the magnetic types. Maybe I'm not using the right terms.

Plenty of ice today in western PA. A good day to stay in, surf or go catalog shopping.

I grew up in that region (Gerry area). I remember snow banks along the road half way up the telephone poles. I now live in western PA and though we get lake effect snow, it is nowhere near what we had in the snow belt. I highly recommend the the biggest honker blower you can get with a discharge chute as high as possible. Even around here, the FEL can only do so much and you run out of room. The blower will move it further and if you have some wind to aid you, even better. My problem is, my beighbor's lane is downwind from me. We end up doing my lane, then his together.

I thought I had replied earlier but my message isn't showing up. I did test drive a JD4210 and didn't notice a vibration. My earlier experience with the small chassis Kubota didn't turn up any either. I'm not able to find another CC nearby except for the small frame gas models with the hydro. When I increased the RPM to about 1500 on the CC, the vibration went away so I guess it might be a cavitation issue. There was no noise or anything just a slight high frequency vibration. Sort of a buzzing feeling to the foot. This only occurred if I tried to very slowly depress the pedal, not if I stomped on it.

Bottom line, I traded the CC7234 on the 7265. The backhoe that fit the 7234 fits the 7265 so I don't lose the BH to a trade. I got the 7265 and FEL for $16,000 and was offered $8000 on the 7234 with its FEL (both FEL were 417's). I think the price on the 7265 was a good one, the tractor and loader for less than the MSRP on the tractor alone. I got $1000 more on the trade than the JD dealer offered. My CC dealer has a great operation and I've been more than happy with the service over the years. For example, I was thinking of getting a post hole digger but was not sure if one would work well on the property due to the many large limestone rocks. The dealer let be borrow a used PHD for the weekend to find out.

Looking forward to the machine. Plan to start out building some planting beds for momma.

I'm new to the forum and new to tractors so be gentle! I inherited a CC 7234 (1996) gear drive. I had thought about trading it in on a new Deere but decided against it. It has 389 hours on it. It has been stored outside so there are some things to address there. I have paper evidence that the 200 hour service was performed on it. Since I'm starting fresh with the Cub and it is nearing 400 hours, I thought I would get familiar with the tractor with this service. It is now stored in a pole barn and I have or will attain any necessary tools to do the service. I do have an owner's manual and it states that part of the 200 hour service is to change the hydraulic filter. As far as I can tell, that is the only mention of the hydraulic system. While the location of the filter is pictured in the manual, I can't seem to find anything in related to how to drain the fluid (where the drain plug is), how to fill it, what the capacities are and fluid types are. Heck I'm not sure even how to check the fluid level! There is a CC dealer not far from here but his open hours aren't compatible with my business hours. I'll take a day off to go visit him but I would like to be armed with a little knowledge beforehand. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

One other thing, if I may. I mentioned the 7234 was stored outside previously. There is some paint chalking and a few rust spots on the loader, nothing I can't take care of. I am concerned about the loader hydraulic lines though. The feeder lines and connectors appeared to be rusted pretty well. I'm not sure what the original finish was because they are all coated with rust. The loader functions well but is this rust an issue other than aesthetics? If so what is the recommended solution? I imagine replacements are pretty expensive. The one thing I did purchase so far was a new rubber boot for the loader valve handle (joystick) because the old one was badly torn. I think the new one cost something like $35. I can imagine what new feeder lines will run.

I'm new to the forum. I looked at some of the earlier price checks and am wondering if I can get an update from someone who recently got one or purchased in my neck of the woods.

I am looking for a 4310, 4WD, eHydro, and a 430 Loader. I also wish to purchase the following and may be interested in the JD brand if the price/package is right:

Rotary Cutter (LX5)
Snow Blower
6 ft Rear Blade

Because I am going to be using the tractor on some sloped ground, I require filled tires or weighted wheels.

Anything else I should be looking for?
