Odor leads agents to dung depot

Police find 20,000 cubic yards of manure at home; owner faces jail, fines

MIAMI - A Florida man stockpiled 20,000 cubic yards of horse manure on his property and was charged with running an illegal composting operation, environmental regulators said Wednesday.

Neighbors complained about the odor wafting from Walter Duque's property in the rural community of Loxahatchee, where several acres were covered with 15-foot-high manure piles, the state Department of Environmental Protection said.

Investigators suspect Duque had been accepting dump truck loads of horse manure from nearby equestrian communities in Palm Beach County, agency spokesman Stephen Webster said.

They issued three misdemeanor citations for violations punishable by up to 18 months in jail and $30,000 in fines.

Florida requires special permits for composting and storing horse manure and regularly inspects the operations to ensure ground water is not polluted, Webster said.

You can pick-up several of the Echo String Trimmers like the SRM-210 at the Home Depot for $199.99 (1.1 HP). Echo just extended their consumer warranty to 5-years and these units are fully covered. :)

I happened to find a website www.rcpw.com where they are clearing the Kawasaki KTR27A String Trimmer for $239.99 - all-in. This includes free shipping, no taxes for a HD commercial unit that typically retails for well over $300.00. The best price on Ebay is $279.99. This is a powerful 1.6 HP unit and carries the following commercial ratings when directly compared to Redmax, Stihl FS80, Stihl FS100RX, Sindaiwa T231 & 261 and comparable Maruyama commercial models. ;)

I did some checking for you on the New Holland TZ25DA. You should have no problem in pulling a Subcompact Tractor Rototiller - and there are a number of different brands out there that should work, however, there doesn't appear to be a backhoe option available for the TZ SCUT series. You'd have to transition to the TC series if you want the backhoe, which are rather expensive in the scheme of things. The price/hours you mentioned seems pretty realistic. The base TZ25DA appears to go for roughly $10,650 (cash), new - slightly higher if financed.

You don't indicate the manufacturer or model of the loader or mid-mount mower, but you've got to figure you're looking in the neighborhood of another $3,200 to $4,000 (new) depending on the manufacturer and model. Hope this helps. :-)
