Art, Tom I agree. Probably wouldn't add value. Hydro certainly has limitations. I remember my neighbor talking about the 4020's (don't take offense) using more HP for their hydro pump than an IH tractor of similar HP. Seems that the IH could pull larger implements or travel more with identical implements. They swithched for several years to IH. They also turned up the pump for more HP. After several IH dealers faded due to Case/IH and other factors they went to JD green. One of them has around 70-80 antiques sitting in a nice new shed. Impressive.

I understand your position on a modification such as I suggested, it was just an idea.....But if the greenbacks are in short supply, who knows.

I also have creeper on my Yanmar 2220D (26hp). I use it for trenching and tilling. At times it seems a little too fast for the trencher and I use the speed shift from 1st to Nuetral to compensate. Works great on the tiller, also it has 4 PTO speeds which greatly improve the finished soil.

Check this site out, it has some 3 point plans. I'm not sure about a carry all, I think one was in there. It also has plans on barns, sheds, cabins, shelters,privys, septic systems, just about everything...Really cheap plans, a few bucks a page.

After reading several posts about trenching I came across the following web site: http://www.farmshow.com/issues/250608.asp
This shows a trencher attachment to a loader bucket that would allow shallow trenching in most applications. One could build something similar without to much expense, its a very simple idea. Just thought I would mention it.

No finish mowing yet
Do it by brush hog, lawn mower, sickle mower ( app. 1/4 mile of shoreline out into the water 5-6 ft.).

I currently own a Yanmar 2220D 4x4 (for over a year). I have found it very durable and very fuel efficent. It handles a 54 tiller and a 5 foot bush hog. It actually handles the bush hog better than our IH 50hp handles a 6 foot bush hog. But its probably time for another overhaul on the IH. After looking at several tractors it came down to the Yanmar and the Mistubishi with the speed shift the deciding factor in the Yanmars favor. I also have a Kelly hydo trencher that is really a load for this tractor, creeper split by the speed shift helps as I do have to shift into "N" occasionally (no spell check). Overall I'd give it an A+, may eventually trade it in on another Yanmar of about 32hp. Parts can be found, may have to wait a bit, used to waiting on the IH, it was made in England. Hope this helps, I don't sell em, just use em.

I'm considering the purhcase of a new loader for my Yanmar 2220D grey market tractor. I've noticed some problems listed in this forum concerning the Koyker breaking cylinders. Is this a common problem with Koyker, or is it a result of use/abuse? I know the loader I purchase will be used, if not abused from time to time. By the way I like my tractor , it has the hydraulic/gear combo (speed shift). Doesn't seem to have the power loss associated with Hydrostat. Thanks

Just reading your adventure with a trencher, I have a Kelly 3pt. hydro driven trencher for my Yanmar 2220D. It will trench 30" deep currently but I am planning on adding another 12" in the future. Takes about 30 min. setup and about 15 min. to remove it. My tractor has 26 pto. hp. and this trencher is a load, 30 hp. would be better. Here in Southern Illinois the clay hardpan can be as tough as concrete. I am satisfied with my trencher though, much easier most of the time than using my backhoe. Less mess.
