Hello everyone. This is my first time to this site. I hope I can gain some insight and recommendations about a first time tractor buyer.<br>

Im currently looking into buying either a Kubota or John Deere. I would like something that can handle a minimum of 1 acre to about 10/15 acres. The research I have done so far kinda puts me at the JD 790 or 990 and the Kubota L2800. Budget is a big factor to me and I realize that tractors and implements can get rather costly. I would just like something that can handle the usual work one would do around open fields or some wooded areas, excluding excavating and non farm related uses. I guess this tractor would fall under the catagory of weekend worrier.<br>

I've notice that there are an abundance of features. I would appreciate any advice or personal thoughts about these model tractors. <br>

Also, what is the difference between the B and L series Kubota tractors.<br>
If any other information is needed, please let me know.<br>
I didn't realize tractor buying is like truck buying.<br>

Bought this backhoe and can't find any information or parts supplier. Bought it at an estate sale. Low hour, tight, clean machine. Really like the way it operates and runs, but like I said I can't find any information. Can anyone point me in the right direction for parts and service. I would also like to find out what year it is. They said they thought it was late 80's or early 90's year model. Has shuttle shift in transmission, two wobble sticks in the back and one wobble stick for front bucket control. Thank you for any help you can give me.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of a spike aerator versus a core aerator? Common sense tells me the core aerator would do a better job of aerating because it makes bigger holes but then the plugs make a bigger mess. Is that about it?

Thanks for your replies. I'm leaning toward a manure spreader now. Wish I could find a good used one. Art, do you mean a flexible tine harrow? That's yet another thing I look at and say how could something so simple cost so much!
