On my vehicles and Tractor I tend to get 4 or 5 years out of the battery. And I wait until problems start before swapping in a new one. Probably better to just replace at the 4 year mark rather than getting stick someplace.<br>

I wonder if the wiper arm couldbe installed in the wrong position. On many cars there is a master spline that prohibits this from happening and maybe Curtis likes the wiper in that odd spot :-(

Polaris makes some very nice UTV's the RZR models tend to be their sportiest ones.

Realy depends on what you usage is going to be as the the RZR is highe ron performance and lower on practicality.

You better buy some ear protection as they really make a racket :-)

Subaru likes to argue that the boxer engine gives the car exceptional stability and balance. That said the issues with oil consumption on the boxer engine still make me nervous. And the horror stories I have read where the dealers had been telling owners a quart per 1000 miles is normal. Normal when, normal in 1950?

I assume you had engine or electrical issues or both with the Legacy?

Mercedes Benz has a reputation for being pricey on service, did you go to dealer or a local mechanic? Impressive that cost of ownership was still better.

It is hard to find quality workmanship. Dishonesty seems rampant. Ask for a tire rotation and you get a tread wear measurement at a tire rotation price. On an oil change almost all the lower shield retainers are missing. This is both at a Honda and VW dealership. If the dealers are this bad on the simple stuff, how are they on something serious?

I guess they may put there least knowledgeable mechanic on the oil change tire rotations, and save the talent for other tasks, I pray! But they use the low cost oil changes pull the sheep into the garage to up sell you on hundreds of stuff while on the rack :-(

Well my crabgrass and most other warm weather weeds have succumbed to the first frost.<br>

I have read that Fall fertilizing is the best thing to strengthen cold season grasses.<br>

So when I was a kid we used to buy 10-6-4 which was pretty cheap and guess better for the root system vs high nitrogen varieties like Scotts Fall 33-0-10 Turf builder.<br>

Does anyone use Milorganite 6-4-0 organic lawn food. Does organic suck less out of the soil, and is worth the extra cost for very low octane?

This year it was super hot but we did have a bit more rain. I set my mower to 3 and 3/4 inches all season. And could be the added moisture but the raised mower made it easier to mow with less windrows, and more grass than weeds by a wide margin over the last ten years of close mowing.

So I am sold for now on high mower settings.

When you have lots of stuff the problem is you cannot find it when you need it.<br>

One of my neighbors took this to such and extreme that even if he only had a couple of washers leftover from a project he would take them back to Home Depot. That way he would not have to search for them as he knew he had Zero of them in inventory !!<br>

I have to say I just never take leftovers back and man do they collect dust in the garage. <br>

In an attempt to get more organized and be able to find it when I need it I bought a 4 Craftsman storage boxes from Lowes. The two main boxes are SQUEEZERS anything that works like a pliers, and the other Is POINTERS chisels, screw drivers etc..<br>

Everything is just tossed in the box based on this division, hard to believe how many of each I have. But at least I have a shot at finding what I need, beats my old NON method of just tossing into one box, or hanging on wall was hopeless<br>

I have a Kubota Compact Tractor that is 12 years old. When I moved here my neighbor had a Kubota that was a few years old. Long and short is he seems to sell and buy new every 5 years. While I have the same old machine.<br>

To be honest my use is what I consider to be light with yearly hourly usage at 70 hours and my clock shows about 750 hours now. My neighbors usage is about the same, weekly mowing, winter snow removal, and occasional loader usage.<br>
<br>
The idea is if you want to have a trouble free Tractor ownership how often do you need to trade in a Kubota?
