I locktite the engine mounting bolts maybe once a year, they still loosen. I check the engine mount bolts every time I grease the tractor, which is often.

I bought a new cadplan 608 (digs 5.5ft deep)not sure I have the correct model #. I use it on the back of my 27hp cub. I like it because its light. I use a pto pump for power. There is a person named Lee Allen here in Maine that builds these. Mine sold for under 3 grand, I am a landscaper. Lee advertises in Uncle Henrys which is online,and offers a one month free subscription.

Yes the clutch is adjustable two stage clutch live pto. I to have a 7274 I have to let the clutch out almost all the way befor it grabs. at 1500 hrs I have no clutch prblems.

Your dealer should have the 10w30 oil I have use it in my 27 hp cub for the last 4 years. I use my tractor commercialy in Maine and it starts like a champ on the stuff in cold weather. I have tried to buy oil from napa etc but it costs about the same. I know what you mean about the filter prices air, transmision etc. I buy my eng oil filters from napa.

I should have read your question more carefully. If you changed that oil when that front end is cold it will take forever to seep down into the hubs. I have 1500 hours on my 27 hp 1996 cub. Warm weather warm gear box it comes up quick. Cold weather etc it takes days. I dont know why. I do know that front end pretty well, my bolts backed out of my ring gear All I heard was a clunk and my tractor was froze right there. I had to tear it apart on the job yank the drive shaft and ring and pinion gear out put the cases back together and bring it home and go to K L Jacks here in portland me to get some replacement bolts. Now with anti seize properly applied I always wonder will it happen again? Also if the front hub seals start leaking, fix it quick, because a leaking seal will lead to metal shafe on the housing each housing is about $800.00 I had that problem and land power stated dont sweat it, its no big deal
I fixed it and noticed this critical problem commencing. All in all Love my tractor....

I am one of those landscapers that bushogs fields here in Maine about one per week. I charge 30 an hour. One of my competitors charge 25 an hour. Ive gotten quite a few of his fields. We both use a 5ft cutter on the average he charges 25% more for the final job. He is real content to slow that tractor down and crawl. I also look a small job over, and am not going to load the quipment if im not going to get that 30 an hour from cradle to grave. I guess the Buyer can always go to the rental shop and pay the 200.00 for the equipment for 8 hours.

Here in Maine we get to mow alot of rocks, thats real good for the blades that need sharpening/changing on a routine basis and I do like my dealer he only charges 42.00 an hour to repair components If I choose to have him repair them. How about the hair dresser that charges 12 an hour to cut hair, and Im not in the chair for five minutes. How about the boiler man who gets 75 to clean the furnace. The day of bushhogging in the summer is nice on one field for the whole day. On the other hand, the days im on my walker mower I can rake in more cash on any given day But im in and out of the truck, on and off the trailer. But the lawns get done every week. Love that grass.

I believe Beverage tractor in Stuarts Draft Va imports many used tractors from overseas. They then re-sell them to numerous dealers across US, you may be able to contact them at their email address of beverage@cfw.com. He is a decent fellow and may be able to give you a name of a good dealer near you. If not, buy one from him and ship it, his prices are good enough to offset the costs( if you find a reasonable shipper).<br>

The turf tires are Okay for mowing, but for serious work, you need a something that definitely cuts into and holds the surface.
