We can build just about anything at the shop. No, we haven't sold any of these. It is Murf's idea. I just use the tractor with FEL with the bucket tilted having the front edge about 1
inch above ground. The quad with plow is backup. Where in Michigan do you live? If you want something built, we cand do it, but first must find out Murf's royality.

I've found that batteries can live shorter or longer periods than expected. For that reason, I wait until that "awe sh*t" moment before replacement. I'm old now and have accumulated allot of stuff over the years. I have more than a dozen batteries to tend. I keep a battery booster/portable power pack handy at all times or a battery charger with surge start capabilities on hand so I don't get stranded.

The earlier Farmall tractor models Cub, A, C, H and M all had 6V batteries with positive ground. I'm not sure about the 200,300 & 400 models. I believe the 350, 450, etc. and newer had 12 volt batteries.

I understand the Cub model was also produced until much later, like up to the late 70's. Am assuming some upgrades were made along the way.

When I was real young about 5 years old, I drove our model A with hand crank start, mostly for sickle bar mowing. Dad always cranked it for me, since at that age I didn't have enough lead in my pants to do it. Besides, if it backfired during starting, allot of farmers got a broken arm as a result.

In '53 or '54 we got a model C to replace the A and H and a 400 to replace the M. Power steering wasn't on any of them. The 400 had a strong spring on the clutch. I locked my left knee and pulled with both hands on the steering wheel to dump the clutch. When I let go with my hands, I slide back in the seat and would take off smoothly. I could only steer when the tractor was moving.

Dad upgraded the C from a 6V positive ground system to 12V with negative ground. He got a Chrysler alternator, new coil and light bulbs and other stuff for the conversion. I believe he used the same starter. It sure spun fast and started much easier than before.

Thanks for the kind words and positive feedback. For snow removal I use my loader bucket. By over curling it, I can get the back area to make ground contact with the front edge skimming about an inch above. Out in the country with farm fields all around, snow drifts get about 3 feet deep for a long distance (50 yards to 100 yards or so). A rear blade doesn't work for me. The snow depth is too deep, pushing the traditional way creates so much pressure that the shoes bend.

If you have any hair left on the top of your head, suggest getting your hair colored by a professional on a regular basis. This may take 10 years off your perceived age. I call it a fountain of youth treatment.

I use ethanol free gas (rec gas or Marine gas) on all my 4 stroke outdoor power tools. I use Stihl premix gas on all 2 stroke products. Both have up to 3 year shelf life and don't mess up the carbs. Haven' t had problems since using this stuff.

Once a year, I empty the tank on anything that hasn't been used. I use a funnel and put it back in a gas can. I blend that stuff in with fresh, new gas and use it on a tool that is used often. That way it all gets used up!

If you go to a battery style power tool, I like Milwaukee products with their M18 battery. They last a long time.

Another approach is an electric corded product. I use a Honda 1000 Watt generator. It is easy to transport on a wheel barrow, wagon or tractor bucket. Along with a 25 or 50 foot power cord it is easy to use. Harbor Freight has some cheap electric saws.

Everybody should have atleast one generator. A 1000 Watt doesn't operate allot of stuff but is handy. I have 4 different size generators.

Not familiar with your tractor, but there should be a knob underneath your tractor seat somewhere. By turning it open (counter-clockwise) you should be opening the return flow allowing the hitch to go down. The further "open" the faster the hitch will travel downward.

Sounds like it is currently almost entirely snubbed off, not letting it go down.

Don't know when I first posted as Yooperpete. I had been away from the site for several years after shutting down my Bad River business. I now use Hogslayer as my handle.

I grew up in the 50's and 60's on the family farm. Life was harsh but much simpler then. Life consisted of 4 basic elements: 1) work to support your family 2) go to church 3) hunt and fish for sport while putting food on the table 4) work. I started working on the farm when I was 6. Main job at that time was hoeing beans and corn while also being a "go-for" working with my Father doing our farm equipment repairs. I was mainly a welding fixture for him, holding parts and pieces in place during the welding process. Was driving tractors by 8 years old and worked most of the ground before planting by the time I was 10. Also was responsible for cultivating the corn between hoeing the bean and corn fields. Dad cultivated the beans and sugar beets. Migrants hoed the sugar beet fields.

My father quit farming in 1968 when I got drafted into the Army. He couldn't farm alone. He found a job as a mechanic for the Michigan Highway Department.

I studied engineering at college and worked for a couple companies before starting my own business. I specialized in designing and building fixturing primarily for the automotive industry, however, have done aerospace, defense, Ag, off-road, energy and much more over the years.

My father had Parkinson's disease and had trouble getting into the bed of his F250 4X4. So, in the late 80's/early 90's, I developed a rear bumper step for him to get into the bed of the pickup easier. We had kept a couple of the old farm tractors and they were getting tired. I bought my 1994 Cub-Cadet 7275 CUT used from a local farmer, when it was only about 1 year old. Have had it ever since. Have lots of trailers, so I decided to make a 3 point tractor hitch. With the first use, while operating my dump trailer, the 3 point hitch flew up and scared me. I promptly made a safety chain similar to how you latch down a backhoe for transport.

Since commercial/industrial business was good, I decided to start a business called Bad River to sell these two consumer products. I patented these two items. One day my Bad River phone rang and a guy called "Chief" called and said I should join and advertise on Tractorpoint. So, I did.

My consumer products ideas didn't pan out. Ford saw my truck step patent and developed an elaborate tail gate mounted step complete with access handle. GM molded a step within their rear bumper. Both got around my patent. Got a cease and desist letter from another hitch manufacturer called FlexPoint. Spent about $5,000.00 with a lawyer doing patent searches. My hitch "no way" conflicted. The other guy was blowing smoke!! Flex Point advertised on another tractor forum. Discussion about my hitch was not allowed on that forum. Eventually, my shop of 35+ employees couldn't compete with the garage shops that were dumping inexpensive hitches. We are doing fine with industrial products. They, however, didn't copy the safety chain. I'm surprised that people haven't gotten hurt and that law suites haven't been filed.

I'm of German decent and this version is longer than Murf's Irish one. Crunch mentioned the Canadian grape vineyards. In mid-January of 2018 my wife and I went to Niagara Falls. Had a wonderful time!! Believe it is prettier in winter with the ice build-up. They still had the winter fest Christmas lights on. They also had an ice wine festival going on. Was surprised by the amount of vineyards in that area. Ice wine is good stuff!!

Later that year we did the Lake Superior tour on the Canadian side. Saw bear and Moose in Wawa. Got a glimpse of a wolf chasing after supper. Got within about 3 feet and almost hit a wolf in Thunder Bay with the Ford Explorer.. That was nice too!

In February of 2020 we went to the Ice Hotel (Hotel de Glace) near Quebec City. That was awesome! Canada is a beautiful country!!

I'll be 72 in about a month. Time sure has flown by and feel that retirement is around the corner.

I have my own variation of Murf's method. Instead of a bed frame, I use a wood pallet. I choose a sturdy wood pallet atleast 6 feet long with space between the cross slats of about 1 1/2-2". If you need to renail any of the top boards, pre-drill holes for the nails in the cross slats. This wood is generally very crappy and splinters otherwise.

I flip the pallet up side down. Drill 3/8" holes thru the stringers about 3 or 4" from the front end about mid-height. Pound 3/8" diameter eyebolts thru these holes from the outside in, and fasten.

Nail a cross bar at the rear from either 5/4 x 6" or 2" x 6". Lay cinder blocks across the rear using the cross bar as a fence to hold in place.

Place a hook from the chain thru one eye. Purchase a heavy duty spring clip that has a pear shape (about 5/16" cross-section) and place it in a chain link to have the correct chain length so when pulled the front of the pallet is riding above the top of the ground.

Put the pallet in position in the yard. Dump part of a loader bucket of loose, screened black dirt between the stringers.

This is a 2 person job. You need a volunteer to help. Your spouse, girlfriend, child or neighbor. They are usually willing once they know they are the driver. I use a garden/lawn tractor to pull this slowly thru the yard.

I walk behind with a garden hoe or shovel to push the dirt around to feed the gap in the boards. The board behind the gap acts as a scraper to level out the new dirt. The wider the gap, the more fresh soil that will be placed.

Once nearly emptied, fill the pallet with another loader bucket of dirt. You will need several crisscross passes.

When complete; a campfire with brats and beer is customary!

I did the relay thing many years ago and it starts every time. My Cub-Cadet is a 1994 model and is still running strong with no problems.

I enjoy Hog hunting. I'm from Michigan and the feral hog population is almost non- existent. The local game farms are like shooting domestic animals.

My best experience was with a guide service that can be found on "hogswat.com". They are located in about South Central Alabama. These guys were awesome. They only night hunt and they supply the guns and ammo along with their service. A hunt is $500.00 per night. My hunt was several years ago. At the time they were using Daniel Defense AR's using .223/.556 rifles with 75 grain bullets. The small caliber AR has almost no recoil, so fast follow-up shots are possible. Hogs go down very hard! Their thermal scopes were military grade Armasights.

The hogs are found in open fields that feed in cornfields and pecan orchards. They are definitely wild animals and are not caged or fenced in and are not gamey tasting.

I hunted toward the end of February. A bad winter storm blew thru the I-75 corridor and was -20 degrees in Michigan when I left. I-75 was snow covered and later snow and rain covered. Travel on I-75 was down to 35 mph nearly the entire way. Kentucky had 4 inches of snow with about 2" of rain on top. The following night I hunted, I-75 was shut down in Tennessee from ice.

My guide was Lee. The weather was overcast. If I got more than 30 feet behind Lee, I couldn't see him in the darkness. The thermal scope allowed me to clearly see beyond 300 yards.

Hogs can run about 35 mph. My first shot was a standing shot and nearly broadside toward my left about 100 yards and went thru its heart. It spun around running nearly perpendicular to me toward my right. The second was a lung shot. After that it ran directly away from me. At that point, target size was about the size of a 5 gallon pail bottom. It jigged and jagged while running and I hit it 3 more times. At about 100 yards away it flipped over and was dead. So, I was 5 for 5 in less than 10 seconds.

They generally recommend more than one evening hunt. I only hunted for one night. You should have multiple encounters. If you don't get one, you are a bad shot!

Lee drove an older 4 wheel drive van and we vehicle stalked around many farm fields and orchards. He had a thermal handheld monocle that was tethered to a screen near the rearview mirror mount of the windshield. So I could see what he was seeing as we searched.

Be careful of the many scam artists in Florida and Texas. The hogswat guys are awesome. You will be spoiled with the thermal scope. Hunting in the dark is difficult at first and requires some getting used to.

You could make a buy a garden tool shed or cabinet. Some are tall and slender while others are short and wide. You could make the exterior match or compliment the outside of your home so it would blend.

You would want to vent the exhaust and have some sort of air input for the air cleaner. Some soffit materials are available with venting. Siding could have slits on the underside by the overlap lips.

Boral makes some artificial brick that is cemented in place. They also have some sections that can be cut to shape with a cement saw blade.

Doors could give access to the generator for starting, filling with gas, plugging in appliances. Additional doors could be used for a actual gardening or lawn tools.

It takes allot of volume to pop a large tubeless tire and seat the bead. Some use ether or starting fluid and light it. That takes guts or no brains unless you know what you are doing.

You can burn, bruise or kill yourself if you mess up.

On small tubeless lawn tractor front tires. I put a load binder around the circumference in the center and draw it down until the tire bead contacts the rim. A modest output air compressor with then pop and seat the bead. Don't over inflate? After seating, let the air back out and release the binder. The tire will still be seated. Then reinflate to desired pressure.

I don't have a Ford but many of my friends do. They have not had a problem with the aluminum box. They however haven't attempted to destroy their box like a GM commercial; they have respect for their trucks.

Definitely a bed liner would be good for any truck you purchase. I have a 2015 Ram 1500 Laramie with hemi. I had a 2002 Ford F-250. It rusted and was under powered with the Triton V8. It carried allot of weight but rode very rough.

At the time the Ram was the only truck with 8 speed transmission. It is smooth. The hemi is powerful and fast while giving decent mileage. It drops back to a 4 cylinder with no load situations. The Ram has a smoother ride with coil springs but a slightly lower weight carrying capacity.

The GM trucks used to be offered with a 5.3 engine. That was way underpowered and mileage was terrible. The 6.2 has more power than needed while mileage is ok. A friend has a Denali with 6.2. Says he can break the tires loose at 55mph by stepping on the gas.

I understand the Ford turbo offers both power and good mileage. But, I like a V8 under the hood.

The Ram has a slightly spongy ride when under heavy loads as compared to Ford and GM but the ride is nicer.

If I want to transport concrete, rocks or other nasty stuff I use a trailer. I have an 8 ft. Utility trailer, 14 ft. Tandem enclosed trailer, a tandem dump trailer with 5,000 pound axles and an 18 ft. Triple axle flat bed.

GMC offers a fold down tail gate in their upscale Denali model. Be careful. If you fold it down with a trailer receiver still in it you will dent the tailgate.

If I was buying a truck, I would shop Ford and Ram first. I think they are both good. Ram has a nicer interior.

Have had this issue several times. The fuel filter was plugged and needed replacement. It ran fine and then abruptly stopped without warning.

Does it drive smoothly in low range? Any noises? Could the brakes be dragging. If it is operating jerky in low, your hydro static oil filter could be clogged and collapsing

You do not have allot of power in high range. Usually used for "Road Gear" or finish mowing on level terrain. Low range is for working up soil.

To check for grabbing brakes. Try to coast downhill or down a declined area with the clutch depressed.
