I am not sure of which bolts you refer to. Is it the hubs on the front axl or some other location?

I got my new 4600 Today, 460 loader and woods box blade. $23650.00 less blade. What a dream. It works like a Cadallac on that big hill i was worried about. The HST was smooth as silk took about 30Min to handle the loader like a pro. It really does unhook in 3min, off and on in 5min. I put soloution in the R4's and can feel the weight only in the C (high gear) range. It was so stable with the wide mount wheel position that i felt like i must be over confident (very unusual). I am a happy camper today!

Bad News!

That 4400 turned into a 4600 and is delivering today. All this started because of a lever that didn't do anything om my 445. I really need to stay away from that place.

Thanks for the advice, Wider is better in this case and i liked the reversable rims. We are still a few hundred apart on the deal but it should wash out today.

I have read many threads on this question and I still am confused.Agricultural use seems to require loaded tires.Landscaping / light residential seems to be where you could use wheel weights or three point weight for th loader.I am getting this right!Thanks for any help.<br>

I can't believe your dealer could not tell you how to install mower w/out the loader, it is simple! First turn your wheel hard to the left. With the deck on the right side of the tractor,(smooth floor helps)roll the deck under at an angle, the left side should be forward of the right side by 8-10 inches. It is a tight fit but is easy if approached from the right angle. Incidentally, and this is in the book, the left rear gage wheel shoul be rotated 90 degrees so that the deck rolls sideways and the front

Probably too late Guy, but for whatever it is worth.<br>You will never need to use the independent brakes to turn sharp and I mean never! Doing so while mowing will only scuff your turf. Most people I have spoken too never use this feature. Secondly, the Kubota mid mount mower goes on very easily with out raising the front end. Simply turn the wheel fully to the left and the mower will roll easily under using the multi directional gage wheels. I have one and can install and remove in under 2 minutes. The Deere 4100 is actually a Yanmar, loader and 3 pt lift specs before buying.

Have a new 4100 with 410 49inch loader, loaded rear tires and a LandPride rake. I have been working the thing like a dozer and even put in a small road to my pond. I have NO complaints. The rear worklight is a blessing...love it !<br>Also, have had no problem with the loader but wonder if a bigger bucket my require a LOT of rear weight should you be lifting heavy material but the 49 has worked perfect for me. I also went with the collar shift to help save some money and pay for the attachments. LOVE it. While the hydro is nice I think you would be happy either way.<br>Dug up my lawn with the front bar tires on turns. Even with only 2wd. I switched to turf and they protect the lawn. For the more aggressive work I was worried but between 4wd and the locking rear dif, they let me do whatever I want. Very surprised by that.

Double check that the engine is turning at the manufactures recomended <br>cranking speed. More importantly check that there is absolutly no fuel/air<br> leaks in either the primary or secondary fuel lines. My experience with <br>small diesels is limited to VW's and I have found that the smaller the <br>engine the more critical the tightnes of the fuel connections. May also <br>ensure that the valve and fuel timing are also correct. Yes and as the<br> others have suggested how many hours? Too many and too low of compresion<br>will also make for difficulty starting. As an experiment try cranking and <br>introduce a flame from a propane torch into the air intake if this starts <br>it easily the problem is in the glow plugs/wiring. Good luck George.

Just did something similar. Used my JD 4100 tractor with a Land Pride landscape rake.<br>I used the loader to move a few bigger items and cut a few spots. But mostly put the rake on aggressive and made several passes.<br>Once I got a basic grade, I backed off on the aggressive angle of the rake and made a few more passes.<br>At this point, I had a nice clear / level area. A few trucks of loam which I spread and leveled using the same JD 4100 and rake and I was just about done.<br>The soil tested a bit acidic so I spirnkled a bit of lime and fertilizer. Dropped some good quality seed and water, water, water.<br>Presto ! New lawn.

I'm new at this and have just bought 5 acres in KY. Need advice on type/size of tractor to purchase (Leaning towards New Holland). Requirements would be finish mowing, digging post holes and light farm work. Any information, advice or experiences would be appreciated.

I am going to guess that it depends on the particular model. My JD 4100 has started without a problem in many single digit winter days here in New England.<br>A few 10-15 degrees BELOW were not a problem.<br>My neighbor has a JD 955 and DID have problems ! Installing the heater did the trick for him and he has not had a problem since.

I recently pruchased a LandPride Landscape rake. As anyone that has one knows, these things will do a lot of work and even some damage if you are not careful.<br>While I have used it for dozens of jobs and practically created a road with it, one job seems to be problematic. I have a lot of space where I just need to do light cleaning such as leaves, smaller rocks and small branches. The LandPride is just too heavy and aggressive no matter how hard I try.<br>What I really need to do is replace hand rake tasks. I have 2 areas, one of which is 12,000 square feet making it impossible to hand rake.<br>Anyone figured a way to do this kind of work ?

I know this may be general but I was stuck with a similar decision.<br>I rented and used a Bobcat for a week. I have since used my neighbors JD 4200.<br>Scraping up the $$$, I just bought a JD. There was no contest picking one over the other for me. On my land I could climb and cover all sorts of angles and hills with the tractor that tipped the Bobcat.<br>I also had some trouble pulling a huge/heavy tree out of the woods with the Bobcat, it just kept lifting and tipping. I have not had any problems with the JD. My other neighbor let me

I know price is a factor but it was obvious after using both that I needed to get a tractor to deal with my uneven terrain.

While the B7300 is a wonderful little tractor, I get the impression you may be asking it to do some heavy work.<br>Simply moving up the line (I know that means more $$$) but you will get into a model better suited for the work I think you are trying to do.<br>

Looking at the JD web site, I was not clear as to the difference between the JD 790 and a similar powered 4000 like the JD 4300. Has the 790 been replaced by the 4000 series like the 55 series was ?
